Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft

Everything on sale the jewelery section was locked up so I asked for assistance. After waiting 5 minutes I was told they were too busy ringing people up. I guess they don’t want my business. :(

The good:
— Nice selection of fabrics, art supplies, jewelry making supplies, etc. Among the best.
— Convenient location (for me)
— Sharon (cashier at the front) who is very pleasant
The bad:
— Overall service, including long waits for the fabric cutting station, few people on the floor, long waits to check out, and more poor to mediocre service than good to great service. I believe the store is generally understaffed. Always.
The worst:
— Hearing a person at the fabric counter try to sell an extra six inches of fabric to a customer because it was at the end of the bolt and «we can sell this to anyone else.» That may be true, but why would you even ask a customer to spend extra money for something they didn’t ask for. The woman buying the fabric bought a few yards, and I very much doubt she unrolled the fabric and measured it with the intention of leaving six inches of unsaleable «scrap.» The employee actually asked her to buy it because it cannot be sold. The customer declined saying she did not need the extra. How do you ask a customer that. This is the reason for my writing a review. If you can’t sell the last couple inches, you can give it to the customer. You don’t try to upsell and then cut it off to throw away. Bad BAD customer service. You need to do better…
Yes, I’ll continue to come here because it’s convenient and the selection is good. That is why I do come actually. An enjoyable shopping experience? Never.

Rudest workers ever. Every single time I come here, I receive the worst treatment ever. Without fail.

Normally I always have a positive experience here but not this time. My grandma and I were having trouble figuring out a sewing pattern and went in looking for help. There was an employee who was instructing a class for sewing patterns, so we decided to ask her a quick question when she had a moment. She was helping us out but as soon as she stepped away, another employee approached us and was basically kicking us out. She told us to sign up for a class if we needed help and not to bother them. Yes, our fault for approaching the instructor but shame on the other employee for being so rude. The correct way to have handled the situation would have been to say «Sorry, we can’t assist you at the moment but let me find another employee who can better answer your question.» instead of shooing us away. Very rude. I would have given one star but the lovely ladies at the cutting counter were very helpful and informative. Kudos to them for taking time out to help us. That’s what working in customer service is! I would hope that snotty employee would learn something from them.

Carried patches but very small selection after I was told on the phone they had a huge variety of large work patches. And to top it off they refused to allow my dog who is a therapy dog in the store.
They said no animals allowed even the state laws allow training dogs and therapy dogs or animals can not be discriminated against. If I could leave no stars I would!!! Very rude and no knowledge of laws!!!

I had an amazing service by the manager he seemed very professional.
I returned an item a kids sewing machine. It was a not working we’ll. My daughter open the box and she made a 2-​inch tear on the box and some writing.
We where not expecting the machine to be poorly manufactured.
The original price was 39 $+ tax
And my return was 19.99 store credit

I will definitely be coming back.
I came to this location yesterday to get a skein of yarn and I was walking through the store when I saw some tie-​dye dyes. They were pastels and they were perfect for summer/​spring. I didn’t have enough money to get it. I was helped and the lady who helped me was really nice. She helped me, she put the item on hold, and I came in tonight and I just had to walk up to the check out (after looking around…), and paid for it. Thanks so much, Jo for keeping it on hold! I was looking around and thought that I would find more, but sadly, no. That was the last one! I am sooooo glad I had it on hold!
Suggestion: make your aisles a little bigger and a visible sign to tell the sections apart. I have yet to see it because I have to look up, and it is kinda tedious… I would really like to see them more visible. I would also like to see the yarn section a little bit more organized. When I get to the yarn section, the yarn section is usually unorganized and I have to sort through the yarn bins… also have to sort through the shelves near the yarn…
Overall, I like this Joann’s. It is a lot better than the one in Fallbrook…

«Big store not enough knowledgeable employees»
I walk in and there is only 1 employee as far as the eye could see. We pick out the fabric and luckily there was someone at the cutting section. Now we go to the stamps and all the acrylic bases were locked and they only cost 5 dollars. Now I have to find someone to unlock it which took me 5 – 10 min to find someone not busy. Then as we are asking her about stamp inks she says she has no idea because she works costumes and walks away before we can ask anything else.
Overall it was a bad experience that could have easily been fixed with knowledgeable employees and more of them.

Just your average Jo-Ann’s. They’re always pushing the next holiday with 40−60% off seasonal goods right up front so if you’re looking for any last minute cheap decorations for around the house, this is a good place to start.
The rest of the store feels like it could benefit from a face lift. The store just feels kinda depressing. I’ve also never had an employee every acknowledge me when I was there. They just go about the store trying to look busy. I have no way of know if they’re actually doing something or just avoiding customers. I’m sure it’s a good mix of both.
So in the end, if you’re looking for cheap craft goods, Jo-Ann’s is a good place for that. Just don’t really go in expecting any sort of experience. Just some solo shopping & then paying before heading along your way.

I love this Jo-Anne’s and have been coming here for quite sometime. The one star review is based on Linda in cutting fabrics department. The service was absolutely cold and rude. Not even a smile or a decent explanation about the fabric measurements we needed cut. I don’t leave reviews often but what terrible customer service! I was absolutely in shock at how she made my sister feel «stupid» in terms of measurements she needed. She didn’t even blink an eye or look up when my sister apologized. Jo-Anne’s, step up the service.

Absolutely horrible service. Spent 30 minutes flagging down half a dozen employees only to be told «one moment» and never see them again. Ended up getting more help from another customer than from anyone working there and, after an additional 30 minutes waiting for someone to simply open the cabinet, decided that such horrendous service does not deserve any purchases. Will never step foot in store again due to complete and utter lack of service.

Great huge store great selection. Bad thing is I think I came on a bad day employee was very rude did not help at all when trying to find something just pointed towards the direction asked again she just simply waived her hand towards the direction almost waving me away very rude if she doesn’t have people skills should not be working there.

I think this is one of the biggest Jo-Ann’s I have ever been to. I don’t know if it’s the organization or what that makes me think that it’s like a freaking warehouse. I kind of like the layout of the store, but parts of it looks like they are doing construction or renovating of some sort. I kind of got lost in the store searching for knitting needles. This place is easy to get to from the 118.

I think the selection could be a little more trendy as far as the fabric selection. I think the «cooler» fabrics can be way over priced.
However, the craft and miscellaneous supply areas are very well stocked. It’s very convenient to be able to shop for odds and ends while getting my fabric fix.
I just can’t really get past the fabric selection and high prices. Even with coupons, it’s forced me to shop elsewhere.

I really enjoy shopping at this particular location. The aisle are wide and clean, and the staff overall is very pleasant. The selection is great and this store is HUGE! Inspiration lurks around every corner. The manager at this location, Alex, is incredibly helpful and offers excellent customer service.

I don’t know what to write about a craft store. It’s relatively organized. A lot of merchandise.

Management is horrible and they treat their employees like garbage.

It’s a wonderful crafts store, but they may State law with their employment practices… ?
My wife was written up for not clocking out to lunch after 5 hours work. She was 32 minutes late. California State law says an employee is not required to stop working at lunchtime. (Brinker Corporation vs. United States Superior Court/​Court of Appeals, 2012). They are paid if they do work, but not overtime.
Managers knew of my wife’s request to leave her work area in advance of the lunch period, but nobody relieved her on time. She was swamped giving good customer service.
We live too far away anyhow, and the 5AM shifts make it impractical. So my wife quit. But the labor law practices just make us uneasy.
I’ve emailed Jo-​Ann on FB and we’ll see what they say. If they know the law and come up with a decent explanation, I’ll change this review.

Always loved this store. Excellent selection all the time, and the cashiers help with coupon stacking. They’ve saved me tons of money.

This store has great selection and is near my house and hiking trails. Unfortunately the service is terrible! Any time I need assistance no one seems to be around or available. Many items are locked up, but no one «has the key». I feel bad for the employees, clearly management isn’t interested in keeping the sales floor and registers properly staffed. One cashier today was begging to go home since get shift was over, but no help was in sight.

They have so many quilting fabrics, fast and courteous employees, definitely my new store!

As a hardcore puzzle maker, there are just a few stores when it comes to buying the glue for my puzzles. Thus Jo-​Anne has been my to-​go place for this very purpose…
I have to say, I don’t like the store itself. It is very outdated and you always find yourself wondering around until you are able to find what you are looking for.
If you sign up to be added to their mailing list, they do email some good coupons such as 50% off one item or 25% off your entire purchase which is very good.
I would have given them a 5 stars, if they were more organized at this particular location… But overall it is a good store and I am happy that with the coupons that they offer, I can get a top quality glue half priced at $ 3.50! Not bad huh!!!:-)

They actually had more inventory than Michael’s and I was able to use several coupons! Customer service was even better than Michael’s! Will definitely be coming back to this location! :)

Arts and crafts galore, it’s all here! I am in favor of this location because it’s one of the bigger, less crowded and well stocked Jo-​Anns stores I’ve been to. This is a chain store that you can goto for basic materials. Basic as an example: you’re interested in knitting or crocheting well you can definitely get some yarns and needles or crochet hooks here… the yarns aren’t high quality, they’re mostly synthetic and come in thin to medium thin thicknesses. I was impressed with their needle and crochet hook options they have plastic, metal and bamboo. This particular location can be a little hectic in the parking lot because there’s a Walmart, Petco, and Ralphs in the same strip mall.

This is the place you want to be when you want to create your own amazing outfit or anything fabric related. Just in case you have some great upholstery ideas too.
Don’t go here the night before Halloween if you are planning on making something. There were long long lines of people waiting to get their fabric cut up. There was also lines of people waiting to check out.
You will find this place a great place to stop and get some inspiration too if you are alittle short of ideas because they have so much stuff and you are surrounded by like minded people. Guys and girls. They even had little desks with sewing machines setup for people to use which i thought was unique.

FYI no dogs allowed which I totally understand but to say there is a sign on the window and there really isn’t is a lie. Employee by the name of Lesley in the fabric department is a fraud and needs to go back to where she came from because customer service is number one. She asked that one of «us» needs to take the dogs outside.
