Went last night and saw a lil sign saying something like, «we are closing down for good, its our pleasure to serve you all and we will miss you» CLOSED! :(

I loved my bibimnaengmyun. It looked scary red, but not that spicy. It was not sweet like some other places, didn’t have much of toppings, just tasty. I want to go there again to have naengmyun. Naengmyun is cold buck wheat noodle. Pure Korean thing, especially Northern part of Korea. Every Korean restaurant has different naengmyun, like doenjangjige. Next time I’ll try mulnaengmyun at Maroo. Maroo located in Costco plaza south of Northridge mall. Very good location. Service is decent. Place looked clean. Tanja had bulgoggi lunch box and she emptied with delight. Overall I would go there again for my cold noodle.

This place actually deserve a 3.5. If only there were such thing as a half button on here. The meat isn’t quality meat but it’s not bad either. I would really love to elaborate on their food but the highlight of our time here was just how freaken hot it was in there. I mean HOT. the guys had a glaze of sweat on their forehead and I can feel my makeup melting right off my face. Not attractive! I don’t know if it’s because their vent wasn’t on but it was utterly hot!!! My boyfriend had to eat with his tank top on and if I know it was permitted he wouldve taken off his shirt! Anyways sorry I just had to get that out. The servers were actually pretty nice. They gave us a pitcher of water and a pitcher of soda(even if only 1 person ordered soda). The meat came out pretty slow from time to time but overall it was good.

One of the better korean bbq places in the valley. First off 16.99 for AYCE korean bbq is a pretty good deal considering the choices they offer. They have a list of different meats(around 5 – 10 i think) that you can try for the AYCE. My favorite are the bulgogi, marinated chicken, and short ribs. Their meat is very well marinated and has lots of flavor. They also give a lot of sides too which I don’t care too much for but is always a bonus. The workers here are very nice and friendly but can be a little slow at times when asking for more stuff. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the valley looking for a good AYCE korean bbq.

There’s nothing can go wrong about $ 16.99 to start with with Korean BBQ buffet. The meat teases delicious. the sitting was very nice. I only wish they have more BBQ tables since they also have regular tables for some other food without needing the grills. So we had to wait in line for a little bit cuz everyone else wanted the same thing we do but no complain there. My only problem was with the service. I understand that they were busy but 5 times just to get a sauce, that was ridiculous. Why having the calling bell on the table when they all just ignored it and like we didn’t even exist at the table even when we personally called them. But overall the food was good but service sucks! I’ll come back for the food next time but just don’t expect the big tip from me if the service will be like this still.

actually 3 and a half stars. Made reservations for 12 and they gave us a private room in the back. Everybody did all you can eat for 16.99. *The beef, deliciousness! *Pork belly was yum but alittle tuff. *Beef tongue, chewy, not very tasty All the sides were good Service Sucked!!! Would definetly go back

Ummmmmm… I’m being generous with the stars. Horrible grills that would burn some of the meat, while leaving the rest completely raw. Service was pretty bad. The place was fairly empty, so I’m not sure why it was such an issue. We spend more time waiting than eating. Also, unmarinated kalbi means no sauce, just meat… thanks. Please get it right next time. $ 16.99 for AYCE(All You Can Eat) was pretty decent. Not a lot of places in the valley that can beat that price. Decent selection, but the quality was whatever… I’m sorry, but everything just seemed thrown together without an ounce of effort. Even the soup seemed somehow below average. They were nice enough to let our vegetarian friend sit with us without paying, even though we all ordered AYCE. However, they spend the entire time watching him like a hawk. It was hilarious!

Sometimes you wanted to eat light. Sometimes you want to eat so much meat the beef industry will send you Thank You cards. This is the place for the latter. When my friends and I want Korean BBQ, we usually made the drive to Tahoe Galbi in Koreatown for our fix. What we had to deal with was valet parking, an hour wait and sub-par service. I found this little gem for us and we haven’t been back to Tahoe since. The choices are mostly standard fare. For the daring eater, there is beef stomach and intestine. Whilst the thought of intestine is a little difficult to stomach(see what I did there?) it actually is a unique eating experience. I’d describe it as «chewy» I suppose. The stomach also takes some courage but it is really tasty! Other than those two, everything’s gravy. The galbi, bulgogi, tongue are all fantastic. For some reason, Korean BBQ places that serve chicken can never seem to get it right. This place is no exception. Skip the poultry. Honorable mention goes to the THIN sliced pork. You can order sliced pork but it is huge and people who didn’t want it will complain about the amount of space it takes on the grill. The thin slices cook up quickly and almost remind you of bacon. ALMOST. The banchan is also great and the staff aren’t shy about replacing it. Eat it up and ask for more. Speaking of the staff, there couldn’t be nicer people working in a Korean restaurant. I’ve had some bad experiences with Korean restaurants where my friends and I were treated rudely until I spoke some Korean to them. Suddenly, we were treated like royalty. I mean, really? Not here though! Polite and helpful from the get go and we are now recognized as regulars. They even remember our favourite meats! The best part about this place is that they are always modifying their menu and adding stuff on. I recall on one of our first visits we asked them for rice paper. They apologized and said they didn’t carry rice paper. We were a little disappointed as some of my friends love it. The next time I was there– RICEPAPER! It seems they really listen and take note of what their customers want. Yes, this is KOREAN restaurant. The lack of good All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ places in the valley was a problem. Maroo was the solution.

As a Korean, my family would always go to koreatown when we wanted korean food cuz there aren’t any decent ones in the valley. But, along comes Maroo. I like the food here and the banchan(side dishes) are good too. I’m glad that they jumped on the bandwagon and decided to offer all-you-can-eat korean bbq. Before they started this, I went with a friend and ordered one of their combos and it was pretty pricey for a small portion. They have two different AYCE menus: one for $ 16.99 which includes just meat choices and one for $ 19.99 which also includes seafood like shrimp and mussel. There’s rarely anyone in the front. You just stand there for a couple of mins before a server realizes that you’re standing in the front. There are plenty of servers, but it seems hard to flag one of em down. Thankfully, they installed button things that you press when you need em and your table # shows on a screen and one of em will tend to you. There’s a male server who constantly replies in english, when i ask him questions in korean. weirdo…

Marro. the Valley’s Korean BBQ of Choice, deserves every star. Thankfully I don’t need ot make the long haul to Ktown to enjoy the Korean BBQ is crave weekly. I have to admit, this place is my weakness because the quality of meat is excellent, as is their service and décor; many all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurants are less than attractive but not the case for Maroo. On my way to Northridge Mall, I happened to catch glance at my new Brisket Oasis and thankfully so, both modern and stylish, this restaurant also served up great service(rare for this genre). My suggestions for beginners is to order the brisket(Chadol), galbi, and Bulgogi. Remember to order a bottle of Soju and bring an empty tummy.

I always try to go there at least once a month. No more having to go through traffic to head out to Koreatown. Service is great!

Maroo is definitely a hidden gem. I had no idea there was an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue nearby. For the most part, I don’t have as high a standard for all-you-can-eat as I do for the traditional Korean restaurants. Maroo had the usual Kalbi and Bulgogi. It wasn’t spectacular, but it wasn’t bad either. For $ 18 I was happy. I felt that the meat was not marinated long enough. The flavors were not out of the ordinary, but that’s not necessarily bad. If you’re objective is to have as much Korean barbecue as you like for a reasonable price, this is the place. The service was kinda slow and they were not as attentive as I would like. They have no problems giving you what you want, you just need to explicitly specify it. Overall, the place doesn’t pretend it is what it’s not. Lots of meat, cheap price, good conversations.

Korean BBQ is an evening that is often dependent on what you drink, how much you drink, and the company you are with on any given night. Having had experience with many K-Town and SF-V establishments(both drunk and sober), I stand behind Maroo with a solid thumbs up. No, this place is not the best quality meat that you will have ever had, but given the locale, the price(17.99 for AYCE economic relief lol over the past 5 months), and the selection, it is very respectable. Service is good, our waiter /waitress is always very attentive and staff is ready to bring you whatever you need regardless if you are their«responsibility» or not. The owner always manages to stop by and ask how we are as well. Personally, I stay away from the Sushi here, well because I think it stinks. Everything from the doctored up rolls to the fish in the raw is pretty terrible. The other entrees though, Bibim Nyeng Myun, Bulgogi, Khalbi Jim(SP?) are filling and good. Other mentionables, the parking is excellent(in a plaza with Costco… enough said), in a plaza with Pinkberry(dessert anyone?), not a 45 minute drive in traffic to LA(yes!). Favorites: Briscuit, Intestines, Bibim Nyeng Myun

Maroo now has AYCEBBQ for $ 17 or 18/person. Brisket– 5 star Kalbi– 4.5 star Pork(sam gyub sal) — 4.5 star This place is bomb for AYCE, much better than most places I’ve tried. Def try their bibim naengmyun(spicy noodles). It was kinda small for $ 3, and i think i finished it in 2 bites, but worth it.

This review refers to their AYCE Korean BBQ. The principle is there – let people cook their own food. If done properly, the food is delicious, but the service could be better. The restaurant was relatively empty but service was still a tad slower than I would have liked. The whole point of «all-you-can-eat» is to keep eating – keeping a steady flow of meats for you to cook. Stick with the standard meats and you won’t be disappointed. As with other cook-it-yourself places, wear clothes you don’t mind infusing with the smell of grilled meats. $ 16.99/person, so come hungry and leave happy.

Any Korean person would tell you that they are the authority in Korean BBQ and I am no exception. One thing most people love about Korean BBQ is their large portions and the free side dishes you get with your entrée. We ordered a BBQ meal for 4 – 5 people and normally at any Korean restaurant, we would have left overs– but here we barely were full– they had small portions and were kind of cheap with their side dishes too! I guess it was more pricey due to the ambiance but I just couldn’t justify it… i would rather go to the Korean BBQ on Reseda and Lassen should I decide to eat Korean BBQ in the valley again.

What a hidden treat! Mad props, Maroo! Our cable was out this past Sunday and although we hadn’t planned on leaving the house at all, we couldn’t sit there and have lunch without anything on in the background so we hit the road. We were just aimlessly driving when I, by chance, saw a sign for AYCE Korean BBQ for $ 16.99. I ain’t gonna’ lie to y’all: ever since I moved to the Valley, I have let my standards slip so I truly wasn’t expecting much out of this place; as long as I didn’t get H1N1 from it, I’d be okay with it. WOW! Setting low expectations really made this place an over-the-top indulgence! Insofar as AYCE is concerned, Tahoe and Manna were the standard for me. Maroo is light years beyond those two spots! THEEXTERIOR: Makes you second-guess walking in. It’s a stand alone building in a strip mall. A new strip mall. It would seem more appropriate as an Arby’s or something. It’s right in front of Costco but at least it’s easily accessible. THEINTERIOR: The interior is so nice for an AYCE joint! It’s newly built so everything’s got that sleek, clean look to it. It’s honestly comparable to the interior of Cho Sun. There was only two of us but we got a HUGE booth that could easily seat 6! I liked that! They’ve got plenty of room for big parties and nice tables for just two! THEFOOD: This is why you’re here. The meat quality is truly unparalleled(for all-u-can-eat) from my experience. There’s a place in Irvine that eaten at that was also AYCE and had phenomenal meat but I can’t recall the name right now. The meat here is quality. Not to mention that they’ve got a wide array of various cuts of beef, pork, & chicken to choose from! The servings are so large that I truly couldn’t eat«all I could» — or rather… all I wanted. So I only tried the galbi(a MUST!), chaedul bagi(thin shaved meat — perfectly marbled), & bulgogi(a bit sweeter than I like it). I will go back for the beef tongue and cow stomach lining for sure! They’ve also got amazing pan chan(spelling?); it’s good and they serve a lot of it! THESERVICE: The service was good. It was not stellar, or at least so good as to make a big«to do» about it but there was no complaints. They don’t have the buttons on the tables that I’ve gotten accustomed to at Korean joints but as soon as you ask for something, they’ll bring it right out. THEDOWNFALL: The lack of Koreans. I don’t mean this pejoratively but the place was less than 10% Korean. Maybe it was the time of day(1:30 — 3:00) but I would’ve liked to have been surrounded by Koreans b/c it makes me feel better about the place. I feel like it’s authentic. But what do I know? {There were, however, a lot of mixed-couples…does that count?} All in all, I’m thoroughly happy to find a solid AYCE K-BBQ spot in the Valley; it makes me feel a little bit better about moving away from the Westside. I’ll still hit up K-Town so that I can feel immersed in all the ‘Hankook Goodness’ but it’s nice to know that if I ever have a hankering for Grade-A AYCE galbi, Maroo is just a down the road!

Costco, Pinkberry, Quiznos, and… Maroo? OK, I’ll go with it. My family loves this place, and my dad has apparently decided he prefers it to Shik Do Rak. I don’t know that I agree with him there, but we had a big family dinner at Maroo and I walked away satisfied. There were eight of us and we ordered the D combination, which comes with galbi, bulgogi, chadulbaegi, steak, shrimp, mushrooms, California roll, shrimp tempura, daenjang jjigae, and nengmyun for all, with a choice of bibim and mul. All the grillables — and there are a LOT of them — come on a huge wooden platter. The California roll, tempura, and jjigae come separate, and the nengmyuns come when you ask for them, which we did at the end of the meal. Banchan was plentiful and refilled on demand. There was odeng, mul kimchi, pickled cucumber, pajeon, kongnamul, regular baechu kimchi… it was all very yummy. There was also ddukbossam, greens, dipping sauces, jalapeño, daenjang, and garlic to accompany meat. This was a crowded table-top, but we did a pretty admirable job of clearing it. The food is solid. I mean, I don’t think the president will be stopping by any time soon, but good eats all around. Service was good, though I can see how it might’ve been slow if we weren’t constantly assertive with our demands. We had a big group and couldn’t always wait to ask for more of this and more of that. It was a really fun dinner — the kind of family dinner where everyone has something in his or her mouth at all times yet manages to talk and laugh and have a good time. Maroo is a clean and tidy little place, but the vibe is plenty relaxed. For the sake of full disclosure — my stomach was a bit of a wreck after eating here, but I take responsibility. I single-handedly ate at least five plates of kimchi. It was just so, so good straight off the grill that I was eating huge bites of it plain. I’d been deprived of Korean food and I must’ve been out of practice. Where do I go to apologize to my ancestors? I can’t find anything on Unilocal

Yay for Korean BBQ. An even bigger YAY for this place. My friend took care of the ordering for our large group and I swear he ordered half the menu. So much food! We got a ton of BBQ, more than enough to feed all 9 of us. A lot of it was brought back in a doggie bag. The cold buckwheat noodle soup was awesome. Cold soup may be an acquired taste but you must try it if you come here. Service was ok. It took a while for some of us to get our drinks and refills. However they were certainly prompt with bringing out all of our food! Prices were reasonable and the place was very clean and accommodating for our large group. Give it a shot, the BBQ is certainly worth it.

This was my first official experience to Korean BBQ and what a delight it was. I’ve had Korean BBQ at the mall which is not even close to compare but this was like gourmet. Unfortunately I didn’t know how to cook but luckily I had a friend who taught me the tricks. I am not sure its due to cooking your own food, everything taste allot better. Do make sure to not wear your best cloths, you will come out smelling like the grill. This place made up for all the bad restaurants I had visited this month. I truly recommend this place and pricing is more than reasonable. Great service, waiter was very attentive to our table, overall a great dinner.
