Gorditas!!! I love their food, they have fresh Homestyle cooking. It’s not the Americanized version and you will not find yellow cheese here. Everything is fresh from the salsa to the PoZole. You can’t go wrong with this place unless you like the other version of Mexican food– such as Presidentes or Acapulcos, yummy but not authentic. Give it a try and Taste the Freshness.

First review ever on here. Read all the bad reviews on here but since i am a huge fan of the one on Vesper and Victory, i figured it couldn’t be that bad. Wrong… This place is a joke. We sat at out table for about 5 minutes and it seemed like the waitress could care less if we were there or not. Approached the counter and ordered from there. We got our order and it was not fresh. Seems like we were eating food that was heated in a microwave from a day ago. The tortilla in the sope was raw from the inside. there were multiple hairs in one of the plates. Will not be going back here ever. I will stick to the one on victory and vesper. 1 – 5 stars Food 2 Service 2 Cleanliness 2 Bathrooms 4 Will i return? No

If you want people to roll out the red carpet as soon as you walk in then go somewhere else. But if you want good Mexican food at a decent price then GOHERE! Their hand-made tortillas are so good. I usually get carne asada tacos. It’s true what people say, you pretty much have to speak Spanish when calling in or you’re gonna get nowhere fast like me. Also, they still do cash only in the year 2016 A.D. but 7-Eleven’s ATM is right there so that’s no biggie for me. Worth trying.

This was my first visit to this place that has managed to cloak itself as a so called Mexican restaurant… First and foremost they did not even acknowledged our presence, the food was just as terrible as there service, the(I’m sad to call employees) lacked any kind of communication skills made no effort to make eye contact, I could go on and on but I don’t want to become a bore. Now for the food, well we’re do I start yes the tortillas are hand made BUT!!! They were made with very little effort and a lot less product, the whole meal was beyond bland … Needless to say I will never eat here again… And to all the Unilocalers don’t ever eat here !!!

Just buy the tacos. Hand made tortillas. As big as a burrito and more cheese than a quesadilla.

Foods decent. Fan of their tortillas. Customer service is terrible. I was first introduced to it when I worked nearby, they forgot my tacos and when I went back to ask for them, the woman started arguing with me about giving me tacos that I PAID for. decided not to go again until 2 years later(last week) I was craving tacos and decided to give them a chance I pulled up and saw the open sign still on, when I entered this lady screamed«closed» but I didn’t hear her so I asked what she said? She said«WE. ARE. CLOSED» Told her if they’re CLOSED maybe it’d be a good idea to turn their closed sign on She then said in Spanish«she thinks I’m stupid» to another lady she works with Not knowing I know Spanish so I replied back«you obviously are if you think you can talk bad infront of a potential customer» And I walked out. NEVERAGAIN. Oh and she didn’t even turn the open sign off

If I could give this spot less than a star I would. I placed an order over the phone and they told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went to pick up my order after 20 minutes and they ended up not having my order ready. They gave me the wrong order. Not only did they waste my time but they had the nerve to tell me they need to charge me more for the remanding part of my order. Are you kidding me?! I just paid $ 11 for 1 Effin gordita!!! Which I ordered a combination(including beans and rice) I didn’t get that I only got 1 gordita for $ 11. NEVERAGAINAM I COMINGHERE! This place should be close!!! Not customer friendly! The place looks like it hasn’t been renovated and it’s not well taken care of. I DONTRECOMMEND! I should of read their poor reviews first because they’re all accurate!

This place is so dirty. The women working here are always in a bad mood and flirt with all the men that come in there, probably to get better tips or something. They have no consideration of personal space. I went there not too long ago and I told the lady working there I didn’t want something I ordered anymore and she said«what am I supposed to do with it then? I already made it.» And continued to argue with me as I told her I didn’t want it. The food is alright. A bit over prized for the quality and how dirty the place is.

Food is alright, the place needs a major make over, and only cash? It’s the 2016 and they still don’t accept credit/debit card. The absence here is like a restaurant in Mexico. Loud music and the smell of others foods. It’s not bad at all, makes you hungrier and gets you in the mood for mexican food. The tacos are great in my opinion. Not the best tacos but for the price you get a pretty big taco. I see a lot of students order this. I always order the mole. It’s chicken/steak in this chocolate like sauce. Really good when you dip your warm tortillas in the sauce. The food is average. Nothing over the top, for the price it’s fair. It would get a higher rating if they accepted debit/credit cards. It’s a hassle running to the 7 – 11 and get charged for withdrawing money.

I’ve been eating tacos my entire life in the valley and LA. When I tell people that I truly believe this place is one of the best places to eat some carne Asada tacos I’m not kidding! By far the best in the valley. Cash only so bring a $ 10 bill and order the carne Asada tacos with homemade corn tortillas. Also one of my other favs here is their molcajete. The food is prepared fresh not scooped out of a container that’s been sitting for hours. If your looking for a fancy place then this is not it. But the best spots are always little mom n pop places so don’t trip!

Stopped by in the morning. Everything in the morning should be fresh. Been in the restaurant business for many years and managed a few restaurants. I ordered a burrito de azada. To begin with the lady was pretty rude. All she talked about was about a dam socorro with her co worker. I dont give a flying dam just make my food. She got a pot where she had the meat. Looked like it was from the day before. I just hoped for the best. I didnt even finish my burrito it was just un edible. Just made my stomach upset shortly after i ate it. Most disgusting place. It was part my fault for eating it. I will be calling health department on this place. Kitchen seemed like a mess and everything was dirty. A good health inspector will shut this place down immediately.

This humble little restaurant offers traditional mexican food with a unique«homemade» presentation and flavor. The staff are almost always busy. I’m there at least twice a month and I have enjoyed nearly everything(except their birria de chivo). I recommend their burritos, tacos, quesadillas, albondigas, and enchiladas! You can call in advance if you’re looking to take out, but the staff is mainly Spanish-speaking. Also, they don’t have green sauce but instead offer a spicy, thin, red sauce. Oh yeah, and it’s CASHONLY here!

Food was just ok. I stopped by around 8pm tues evening. I noticed the menu on the wall had no prices, even the reg menu @ the counter. I asked if they could make a chorizo egg bean burrito for me, she said no, only for breakfast! I was hungry, so I went and ordered a combo burrito(beef bean rice and cheese). I told the lady I would be back in 10 min to shop next door at 7 eleven. Note, the dining room was empty. I came back in 15 mins expecting my food to be ready and she saw me… Then put immediately put the tortilla on the grill. Either she totally forgot about me, or didn’t expect me to be back. Btw she was not friendly from the get go. She was not rude, but she was not helpful or friendly at all. Im not Latin, but that shouldn’t matter. She finally made my burrito and it came out to be $ 6 something. Perhaps she was having a bad day or I was her last customer but it would’ve nice if she was a tad more friendly, and said thank you. She just gave me my change back and«I» said thank you and walked out. Burrito was so-so at best. I will not return.

When they cook your food to order this place is very good, easily 4 stars. I tried it out a few months ago after reading a friends review & I was impressed. Since I live down the street I planned on coming her more often, my 3rd time here I came after work around 5pm & I brought my girlfriend who happens to speak the native language. I noticed our food was taking a lot longer that it usually does. When our food was done the lady working there told my girlfriend she made it fresh since the other meat was last cooked around lunch time. Fast forward to the last two times I came here by myself, my food was ready in about 3 minutes & defiantly tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day. Not fresh & pretty dry. If they didn’t pick and choose when they decided to make fresh food this place would be worth going to, but I’m not going to spend money here knowing there’s a 50⁄50 chance my food will suck.

So this restaurant is literally right next to my place. I always pass by it and I’ve been meaning to go. It’s a little hole in the wall restaurant, and those are the best ones if you ask me. I finally went yesterday and got a cheese enchilada with rice and beans and it as really good! The tortillas were amazing. I was definitely satisfied! Was it the best Mexican restaurant? Probably not. But still really good. I would definitely be back!

We hadn’t eaten here in a while and once we got our food we remembered why. Food tastes like it came from a Mexican cafeteria. All burritos, sopes, gorditas come with lots of bland rice, flavorless bean, and cold shredded Monterrey jack cheese inside. They don’t seem to take pride in their food and it’s not authentic. On the plus side, the cashier and waitress are friendly.

I have had take-out from here before and the food has always been pretty decent. Went in with a friend one time who wanted a side of sour cream… I asked the lady for a side of sour cream and she looked at me like I was crazy. Apparently they do not use or garnish any dishes EVER with sour cream! Ok, that was just a quick side bar! Today I went in early AM for breakfast and saw the menu board had a few breakfast options but the whole menu was also available. I went with huevos rancheros and pineapple water to wash it down with. BTW the menu board has NO prices but there is a sign that clearly stated CASHONLY(I was kinda worried I wouldn’t have enough cash especially because I didn’t know how much my bill would be) After I placed my order at the counter the lady told me to have a seat and my food would be right out. My attraction to this place started when I noticed that the only people in the kitchen were 3 ladies doing all the work!(moms & grandmas make the best Mexican food) Then it occurred to me that it reminded me of the little road side cafes in Mexico. It had the same feel and the same techniques were happening in the kitchen. I then heard the familiar sound of fresh masa being pounded out to make tortillas. Turns out all their tortillas are hand made to order. My breakfast came out piping hot and accompanied by a hot red salsa, a hearty pico de gallo and a healthy stack of freshly made tortillas. The huevos rancheros were some of the best I have ever had. The sauce was smooth and runny not chunky and cumbersome like most places present it. The tortilla under the egg was exactly like I prefer it, fried just enough for a slight crunch then passed through the sauce for that perfect soaked, crispy texture. It was served with a side of refried pintos and Mexican rice. I added the hot red salsa and the pico to the whole plate. It didn’t stand a chance! If I was at home I may have licked the plate clean! But I did refrain, as I was in a reputable establishment! The only downside of the dish was that the eggs were not as runny as I would have liked. Next time I will request less time in the pan for the eggs! Ok, so for my breakfast including the drink my total was…$ 9.21. I even had enough for a nice tip!

There is nothing all that visually appealing about about Socorros physical location and you will see that as soon as you walk in but they do have an A rating from the County but man this place needs a good scrubbing. You order from a walk up counter and have your choice of few tables in this strip mall box or take it to go. It’s old school cash only and come to think of it, I’m not even sure the prices are listed on the ordering board. It’s the equivalent of a food truck but in a storefront and not the avant-garde trendy food truck. Well enough of that you get the point. So why dine here? For one the fresh, hand made on the spot, to order soft corn tortillas make it worth the wait for their tacos. The actual beef inside the carne asada taco can be inconsistent from taco to taco as it is a mix of lower end cuts. You can get chicken(dark meat) or carnitas, etc should you prefer a different taco fix. It’s served simply with lettuce and cheese. Two are more than enough to fill most hungry bellies. No salsa verde here just this red hot concoction that pairs perfectly with the carne asada tacos. The Mexican coke is the only way to wash down this comfort food. I am not sure I crave a place like Socorro’s but every once in a while they do deliver satisfying relief for a well portioned plate of decent Mexican grub. I do think I will stick with taking it to go, until they spruce it up a bit. A decent if not standout place.

Solid spot for Mexican food at a pretty decent price. CASHONLY. The parking in this plaza can get a little crazy. They offer a wide menu, including burritos, tacos, tortas, soup… We had burritos. Carne asada was greasy, but good. They don’t have a big selection of salsa though. No salsa verde. They also handmake their corn tortillas. If you want a solid, cheap meal, this is the place to go. Nothing fancy, but you’ll leave full and satisfied.
