Gene is THE BEST! He’s been in the business so long, he knows what he’s talking about and he gives such excellent advice. He has saved me thousands of dollars since I started using him as my CPA in 2010 and I will never go anywhere else (unless I move far away — which will make me super sad)! I’ve been in some hairy tax situations since I’m self-​employed and some years have not been kind to me financially, but Gene always helps me figure it out. Going to the tax office is usually harrowing for me, but Gene breaks it down so clearly that it’s not the rocket science it used to be! I’m so utterly grateful to have found such a wonderful CPA after years and years of working with less capable CPAs! :)

I have used all types of CPA’s and Tax Prepares ranging from Mom and Pop operations to expensive Newport Beach CPA’s. Each time I felt confused about what they were doing and why. Gene is by far the most transparent CPA that explain taxes in plain English. I have paid half as much as I paid with other high end CPA’s and felt a million times better about the level of service I received. Emailing questions to Gene is easy and are answered immediately. If you are looking for a bookkeeper speak with Gene before you speak with someone who will charge an arm and a leg. Thanks Gene and I always appreciate your help.

Gene is amazing. After transitioning from a lifelong w-​2 employee to opening my own business I needed someone like Gene and was very lucky to find him. Not only has he kept thousands of dollars in my pocket each year he has advised me on my business and the finances of it. This year Gene incorporated my business and saved me even more on my taxes and costs. He does so much more for myself and all of the people I have referred him than any other CPA I have ever dealt with. Gene is the best in the business and I will trust him with my finances for the rest of my days.

MY REVIEW
I’ve had a few accountants over the past 30 years, but last year I was referred to Gene Wechsler of Wechsler Accountantcy Corporation. I had a long meeting with him, at which we discussed a lot of things, some personal, some business, and some tax and accounting issues. At the end of this meeting I was convinced that I had not only found an extremely knowledgeable and competent accountant, but also an honest man with a lot of integrity. And a hell of a nice guy.
After he prepared my personal and business taxes for the 2011 tax year, I decided to move everything over from my accountant of many years, to Gene Wechsler. I am now recommending to all my friends that they, at the very least, sit down with Gene to discuss their own financial situation, get a feel for who he is, and then decide for themselves. I have no doubt this will result in several new clients for Gene. He deserves them.
Do yourself a favor. It costs nothing to have that initial meeting. You’ll come away impressed.

Wow, are these guys still in business? Got referred to them by a friend and paid for it a few years later when the IRS came calling. Totally simple tax return and Gene forgot to include the previous year’s return as income and I got dinged. I called up and he offered to pay the penalty but I wanted my money back for the job he never completed. It made sense to me. When I do consulting work, I get paid for completed work, not almost completed work. Then it got ugly and he was a rude jerk. Not cool. No need to yell or use that kind of language. To his credit, he did refund me my money and asked me to never use his services again. Uh… promise kept.
