Ceviche Peruvian Cuisine

I went to eat this past Saturday 11^th with my dad and my fiancée, my impression of this restaurant wasn’t that good at all, first the waitress was a very good looking girl and I had the impression that they used her as bate to attract male customers to consume a lot of alcohol because she had no clue about the menu, and couple guys were being served alcohol in the afternoon even thought they were already intoxicated by 1 pm, in addition, the music wasn’t anything from Peru or related to, but it sound more like a 2 dollar dance cheap place, I order a Classic Peruvian dish called ceviche as the name of the restaurant, but the fish was so soft like old and had a bad odor, and it seem like they do not use lemon as base, instead some quimical to imitate the citric flavor of the natural lemon. I hope they fix this place because the restaurant image was not bad, only the whole human interaction was. The food have to get better, to finalize, they advertise a beer that is very popular in Peru but they do not carry according to the waitress.

This restaurant was very well liked when it first opened. Food was good, waiter/​waitress very attentive and the venue really attractive.
Little by little, though, food was losing its original flavor (peruvian flavor). I was dissapointed several times so I stop visiting this location and I did not even order food to go anymore.
Unfortunately for me I decided to try it again… and it think This was the last time.
I ordered to go… saltado mixto. What a disaster… who cooked that? a chef? of course not, it was made but someone who has no idea how a lomo saltado tastes like. (and believe me i know how it tastes, I am Peruvian). The meat itself was hard to chew and it had not flavor at all. Even the lomo saltado from MIsti in portchester (which I consider one of the worst restaurants around) was better than this.
Unfortuntely it is not this plate only. Months ago when I ordered one of its chaufas I had a bad experience also. The egg was not very well cooked and the rice was overcooked.
Salchipapas was also not good, hotdog was dry a french fries overcooked.
I am really sorry about this restaurant. It was a very good one. I even invited some friends over there. Not any more

My wife and I are repeat customers. You can never go wrong with the LOMO salteado and salchipapa!

Came here for lunch and I defiantly agree with the other reviews that the service needs help or maybe they just need to hire more servers because the one girl handling 5 tables just didn’t cut it. She did give us a free beer so that kind of made up for the bad service. The food was ok, but good size portions. My bf had the Lomo saltado, with all the raving reviews about it we were expecting more and we were disappointed. We both thought I made better lomo saltado at home and I’m not even Spanish lol. I had the fish cerviche, it was Peruvian style and didn’t come with chips/​tostadas like the Mexican kind. I’ve had a ton of cerviche from all over the world and this was mediocre especially since the name of the place is «cerviche.» The atmosphere is typical family style, nothing fancy.

This is a wonderful family owned restaurant with large portions and affordable prices. I’m a frequent visitor and I’ve always been treated well. I the love relaxed atmosphere.
I can’t think of a finer dinner than a big plate of lomo saltado, accompanied with their delicious ají (sauce) and a big glass of chicha morada.

I usually don’t review a restaurant days later, however I feel compelled in this case.
I stopped in here a few weeks ago for lunch and got the arroz con pollo. It was pretty good. The table next to me ordered the whole crispy fried fish which looked fantastic, so I decided I would have to come back.
This past Sunday, I visited again and of course ordered the whole fish. It was very good. My mom ordered the lomo which she reported was high up there as well. This would have been a 4 star review.
With a name like ceviche and about a dozen variations to choose from, I had to order one. So I ordered the ceviche mixto. It was ok. About half way into it, I tasted something off and pushed it aside. After leaving, about an hour later I began to feel sick. Chills, body aches, etc. Very long story later, I’ve been sick since Sunday (it’s now Thursday) and I still can’t stomach anything. Not pretty…
The fish was almost good enough to make me go back. I don’t know. I’m just not sure I will ever eat anything else again. Ever. Definitely would pass on the ceviche though.

Love the Lomo Saltado… One of the best I have ever had… Worth going just for the food… Service was OK… I can’t give it 5 stars because I have been here a few times and it was empty, plus the service needs a little polishing… They need to learn to interact and shmooze the customers a bit more… My friend and I ordered EXACTLY the same dish and they came out on separate trips to the kitchen, which I thought was a bit odd… Can’t they put a plate in each hand? It wasn’t as if there were 10 of us… Maybe i’m nit picking a bit but still… It was not the most terrible service I’ve had by far, but not the most attentive service I’ve had either. Overall though, worth a trip and they have good parking in the back… I will definitely be going back.again.

Very poor service. Took over 1hr to serve food… Ridiculous. Place smelled really bad too.

Super delicious Peruvian cuisine! My husband ordered his favorite soup, Parihuela and I had a wonderful octopus cevechi salad!

Excelent! Best chaufa ever! I went with my family and we got hooked. Authentic Peruvian Cusine. Price is fair and family oriented atmosphere.

Food was really good but the service was really «iffy». In fact, the service was downright bad. I think if the server spoke English it would be helpful when serving people that speak English. At our table, three dishes were not even ordered, appetizer arrived after entres were served.
I suggest hiring a new server who is bilingual and maybe the problems with communication could be eliminated.

This place SUCKS, service very poor, i was waiting for an hour for papa a la huancaina and 40 minutes for pescado al ajo, i tho was a good place but def needs a lot of work food ways ok, i won’t came back unless im around. And by the way one of the server was sitting in the dining area w some ppl actually idk if she was working or what??? anyway service SUCKS…

Finally another Peruvian restaurant in Norwalk. With a spacious outdoor sign I would have thought this was a nice spacious restaurant, but just a regular place on the corner. I ordered take-​out at the bar (more of a sitting area) and got the Lomo Saltado and fried fish for app. Place wasn’t busy but a local buzz for bringing families here. The Lomo Saltado was excellent… the meat and tomatoes were cut med thick. From my experiences with other places the beef and veggie were thin cut. The green sauce complimented the dish, but my wife thought it was a little spicy. The fish app turned into a chicken app. It was good, but surprised it was chicken after I got home.
Service, decent. The waitress was struggling with the cooks in filling the order and making sure it was right. She kept on checking if I got the right thing, but i guess fried chicken looks like fried fish. Parking, a nightmare. didn’t know where to park since all the parking area in the garage states it’s for another bar establishment. Ultimately parked and paid a dollar at the general movie area section. Overall, food was good, more of a local family place, parking and crossing the two busy roads not ok, but it’s worth a try.

I kept driving by this place and I’m happy to say I was finally able to go in!
I was ecstatic about finding another Peruvian place opening up so close to my apartment, It’s right around the corner to the SoNo movie theater!
As per the food, family and I ordered Milanesa de Pollo, Ceviche Mixto, and of course, Lomo Saltado.
The lomo was amazing. Definitely will be ordering again and again.
I didn’t eat the Milanesa, but my brother said it was good.
Ceviche Mixto was shared between my mother and I, and the only complaints we had is that it may have had a bit too much onions on it, but that was it.
Everything was fair priced, and pretty good quality of food.
Cannot wait to head back there again to try out the rest of the menu!

Like Peruvian food? This is your place. Not sure if you like Peruvian? Try it, you’ll love it. Try the mussels, layered in red onions and citrus. Delish. or the shrimp cerviche, or the beef whatever it was. I don’t remember the names but the flavors cast a most excellent memory on my brain.
