I took our 2 month old kitten here since it kept trowing up excessively and was concerned since he is such a small kitten. Unfortunately since it was late at night our regular veterinarian was closed and this was my only choice due to the time. When I got there they immediately took the kitten in and advice that they needed to do an X-​RAY and the cost would be $ 355 to see if he had anything lodge in his stomach. After 4hrs later they come back and say that he has a «string» in his intestine and needed «surgery» since they had to take out what they «found». The «surgery» was going to cost on average of $ 1000+. When I opted to tell them that I would not do surgery since I wanted a 2^nd opinion and I just would take take him home. They then mentioned that if I did the kitten would not make it thru the night. I said I would take my chances. As soon as my regular veterinarian was open I had my father take him and the Doc called me and advice that there was no need for surgery. He prescribed medicine and gave him a shot and advice us to take him home and just watch if he started eating and check on his bowel movements since he felt that he would just digest whatever he had ate. The cost was only $ 93. I understand that at Crossroads you are going to an emergency place and that the cost might be higher because of that but this place takes advantage of the fact that they are an «emergency place». They feed of the fact that you are coming in with distress because your pet is sick and want them to get better since you care for that animal as if it was an actual human child. Do not think that because they are the «professionals» their opinion is accurate and you should listen to them. I will not be visiting this place ever again and if for whatever reason you decide to take your pet just know that all they see in your pet and worry is $$$$$

Terrible experience. They would not let us go with the puppy at all and they wanted an absolutely absurd amount of money for the treatment. I understand but that it is an emergency place, but the amount of up-​selling and predatory pricing is terrible. I will never go there again, and I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place.

If I could give minus 5 stars I would. Please research options and take your pet to a different hospital by all means. We took our beloved dog Jackie to this hospital because she presented poisoning signs; her regular veterinarian suspected sago palm intoxication based on the results of her liver analysis and current symptoms. Jackie’s condition worsen drastically at night when the vet’s office was closed, we didn’t want to take any chances and immediately took her to urgent care to crossroads. We were told she needed to stay overnight because her state was critical and they needed to do a detox process, the cost was $ 1700. The next morning they said Jackie’s condition had improved and there was no need to take her to her vet. Jackie got worse and despite the fact we took her to her vet when we saw no improvement, our beloved companion lost the battle and passed away 5 days later after indescribable suffering. :’(If you love your pet, please don’t take him/​her to this place.

I wish I would’ve read these Unilocal reviews before taking my dog here. My dog had a tumor removed on Tuesday May 16^th and on Friday May 20^th she unfortunately tore her stitches. My primary vet had just closed and recommended us to go to Crossroads. I showed up and they immediately took her in. I was under the impression that they would just sew her back up. The doctor told us she had to undergo ANOTHER surgery! Which was going to cost twice what we paid for her original surgery. They gave us an estimate of $ 1,300-$ 1,700 (just to sew her up!!). They told us that it would actually cost $ 750 because they work very closely with my primary vet.
We decided the best thing to do was just have her wrapped up and take her home. We were charged $ 140. For what? I have no idea. I could’ve wrapped her up myself. This morning we took her into her primary vet and they said that the surgery was NOT necessary. They simply sewed her back up. FOR FREE.
I was not going to write this Unilocal review, but I just received a call from Crossroads. They wanted to «follow up on cinnamon». LIES. These people called because they are money hungry! How dare they call! I will NEVER come back to this place.

This place is pure scum… brought our sick dog here. Said they would do a blood transfusion so they could perform surgery to remove a stomach obstruction. Well 4 hours later another vet comes on duty after they had ran up our bill $ 2000 with the blood transfusion and pain killers and refuses to do the surgery. These people ARE NOT HONEST. Even if your animal is sick and dying TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! Look at all the negative reviews. If there was one bad review I might question it but many low reviews don’t lie. Our dog passed and I blame this vet for taking advantage of us in an emotional situation.

This place deserves no fucken stars! Fuck this place and fuck these so called «vets»! They don’t deserve to be called vets! I still can’t believe what I experienced when I brought my dog in. They’re nothing but greedy ass people that only care about taking your money and give no fucks about your pets. Worst experience ever!!! This place deserves no stars, I took my maltese/​shih tzu in last night because she was limping and crying. It was almost midnight and I was panicking and this was the only place open. When I arrived they took my dog in within 15 – 20 mins which wasn’t too bad. I then explained that she was outside with our other dog and wasn’t sure if he did something to her. I waited about 45 min and was called in, they told me they would have to take some xrays and most likely her hip was out of place. The xrays and anesthesia were about 350 plus the 75 to check her. After checking her xray which took about 2 hrs they tell me they have to bandage her up so the hip doesn’t go out of place again and I was completely ok with that. After 2 hrs they tell me it’s not her hip it’s her foot so after paying 500 I would have to pay an additional 300 for more xrays. I was so disappointed and pissed I was there for 6 HOURS!!! payed 500 and walked out with my dog in pain the same way I walked in. These people seriously take advantage of people and their love for their pets… never ever stepping foot in this place again!!!

What happens to veterinarians? They all become so goddamn greedy! They all become bottom feeding scum!

Brought my 2 month old puppy to due to pneumonia and the Vet said it was «severe» and if we were to take him home that night it would be «cruel and unusual» They quoted us $ 2000 — $ 2900 in order to keep the puppy stable and if we weren’t able to afford that. They suggested us to put him down .
We decided to get a second opinion elsewhere and they said it was not severe at all and they prescribed the puppy antibiotics. This «hospital» didn’t even suggest antibiotics. The were rushing us the whole time … BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Brought my dog here for emergency late at night because he got food poisoning. The staff were very nice and caring. But my only complaint was it was soo expensive. My dog was only there for 6 hours and my bill was $ 1,190.

Called last week about bringing a stray cat down that had a open sore on neck, major infection, face swollen among other stray cat issues. Animal control said they would come get as long as I called by 4:30 pm. This cat only came out at night, so they said box him up call us in the morning to pick up or bring it down to their location. No thanks. This is not anything negative about the way Animal Services do their affairs, not in the very least. They do the best they can. Give a lot and get little in return. There are so many more animals in need than there is staff employed. But for my situation and how it was affecting me day in and out — seeing this kitty get worse and worse and knowing he never never got a second look from anyone probably his whole life, I wanted to do whatever I had to in order to make sure this sick animal had at least one person looking out for him in the end. I found that at Crossroads… that and much more.
I found Crossroads, spoke to Victoria who was compassionate, kind and helpful. It ended up taking me 5 nights to get him in the carrier. Every night i failed on shutting the door. Call it stage fright, whatever. But I couldn’t tuck the tail, shut the door. My sister who works for an animal hospital in Manhattan Beach came to my rescue, she walked up to the cat, petting him (something I had yet to do in the 2 – 3 months of seeing him, and when I would feed him). Once we had the kitty (who never even realized the door was shut as he was enjoying his breakfast, lunch and dinner), we loaded the car and headed out. I called ahead and spoke to a soft spoken guy name Kevin, he gave me information on where they were located (in the moment I couldn’t find them on Unilocal as I had done days earlier) and he got the little information I had about the cat.
When we arrived we heard the the loudest non stop wails of what appeared to be a barely hanging on puppy being carried feom a van to the inside of the hospital. I will never forget the sounds, or his lifeless head hanging over the arm of the tech. We had the cat sitting there waiting for our turn, when another owner came in holding her bleeding dog who had just been attacked. In the end that dog was euthanized. Not sure if the amount to save him was just too much for this woman who cried as she brought him in, or if the injuries were too much to carry on. Either way, seeing distraught people and their pets… its not that i wasn’t expecting to see it, just didn’t prepare myself.
The compassion every single person had here was mind blowing. My sister was in awe of Dr. MURDY who spent time with us, making sure they did what I wanted. I was getting him euthanized from the getco in my mind, but the decision was getting harder the past 5 days (like I couldn’t close the door on him, letting him walk out to endure another night and day suffering, the thought of him trusting me, sad I may have been the only one he ever did, or the sight of him enjoying the meal in front of him in a safe place, and me crying as he noticed water and didn’t lift his head until the bowl was empty… it was just water but it had to be the one free thing he needed most and never really got) — all that and then seeing my sister pet him and him respond like a «normal» house cat really had me asking why can’t he get a shot at life? What makes him less deserving than my 2 rescue cats. one just 3 months old found just down the street from where I first saw the sick kitty. Dr. Murdy discussed multiple operations to get infection out, and we knew this meant am indoor recovery, something I just couldn’t give him… just as I couldn’t box him and keep inside overnight for Animal Service pick up next day. His temp was 104+ and we saw some of what he had in his face. In the end, the suffering is what I wanted to end, not his life, his short 2 years per the doctor, but because of how sick and how much indoor recovery he would need, we chose euthanization. Longer story shortened, and back to my sister being in awe– in that moment, she was so touched by Dr. Murdy and the kind things she said to me about what I was doing for the cat, and she supported the decision. My sisters work is my first choice always because I never have to worry if the animal is getting the TLC you just can’t buy or ask for and know they fully understand what you mean when explaining the issues your pet is having. Crossroads was as close as I was going to get to that. Sure, I was paying a lot of money to end the suffering, but to me, that was my goal. I would have paid anything to do that.
For that, I felt great I could actually do that for a cat no one else noticed and Crossroads handling of me, the cat… didn’t make me question why I was spending the money.

This place is a load of crap! I brought my 3 month old puppy who hurt his leg. I knew it’d be a little pricy due to the fact it’s an ER, but my goodness!!!
I get X-​rays and all that good stuff, they say it’s a fracture. Okay, I’m sad my puppy is hurting but now what’s the damage? So, I’m told he HAS to have surgery there’s no other option. Unless of course I want to amputate (yeah, sure!). Tough right? Well here is where it gets worse. I got an estimate of around $ 4,000 for all this to be done!!! I thought that was a little much so I said I’d take him elsewhere for a second opinion on that.
I left my son over night so they can put a splint and the injection to sedate him for that. But, then I come back to get him in the morning and my bill was over $ 1,400! So ridiculous.
Wanna hear the BEST part?!! I go to other vets… there is NO fracture! What they pointed out to me at Crossroads were his growth plates! He doesn’t need a screw in his leg. He doesn’t need surgery. Definitely doesn’t need to get his leg amputated. I am livid! This place is a ripoff, you’ll be helped but you won’t be eating for a little while. So don’t come here unless your pet is dying & it can’t wait till morning for a real vet.
The reason I gave 2 stars was for the customer service I received when I showed up last night and from one of the nurses who gave me my son back this morning.

I do not understand the people who give this place 1 star. Because it’s expensive? As someone else said, what do you pay when you go to the ER??? They cared for my cat that passed away 6 years ago. They just took care of my 8 year old kitty that swallowed a coin. They couldn’t have been more caring and kind. Unilocal users only want to complain. This emergency vet is one of the best.

Will never come back to this place. They did not know how to treat my cat. Waste of money!!! All they wanted was my money. The female doctor rolled her eyes at me when I was telling the symptoms. I was was really worried about the wellbeing of my cat. The other staff was really friendly can’t complain about that.

The worst place ever! If I could I would rate them negative stars! We waited over 2 hours and a half and when I finally decided to leave they said the doctor was going to see us next ! It’s ridiculous how bad they make you wait without being acknowledged after being put in a room.

Worst place ever. All they care about is the money! My dog had a broken leg and we went in to see what they could do and we waited like 3 hours for the doctor to come in and tell us he had a broken leg! Then they did x rays to show us the leg was broken! All of this total was $ 355 after this and then they came in and said it would be $ 760 for them to put a cast on him! That is absurd. We asked for him back and they gave him back to us with his leg just dangling, they didn’t even care enough to at least bandage his poor leg! $ 355 later we left with absolutely no help and they really don’t care about the animals. I don’t think it would have hurt them to bandage the poor thing. The only reason we came here is because it was January 1^st and no other clinic was open! Worst choice ever though we honestly would’ve been better off bandaging it ourselves and taking care of him! I would not recommend anyone to come here unless your animal is dying.

I wish there was a zero!!! WAited 3 hours these people almost cost my baby his life!!! $ 200 later and a big fat NO to further tests that they wanted payment first!!! Took my baby out of there!!! Waited a few hours my vet $ 10 prescription for vomiting and diarrea and within half a day he was better!!! These people should not be in business! The only good reviews are from current employees or family!!! Yes all about the money!!!

I came in at 2 am after my dog ingested raisins to induce vomiting. I expressed it was an emergency and she was immediately triaged to the back within moments. The veterinarian, Dr. Mowry, was incredibly knowledgable and kind. After she was treated and I spoke with him, he didn’t try to up sell services, and he (and the staff) were very clear with treatment, prices, and after care. I am very pleased with the emergency care I received here.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE, point blank period! They well over charge, tell you the worse thing possible and have you wait hours with your dog untouched. After you refuse the 3,000 dollar treatment bill they will refuse to give you a copy of the 700 $ worth of test they supposedly just ran! Meanwhile demanding your pet back they take sweet time. Afterwards they try to pick your brain by asking what is the fax to the doctor your taking your pet too so we can fax the test over later. Please I don’t want anyone to give these evil people any business.
Forgot to mention, I called my normal veterinarian and he came from home in the middle of the night and opened his practice, in less than 10 minutes my dog was on a IV and on pain meds being evaluated over night. That is truly a genuine doctor that cares for animals and his ethical practice, and a update call in the morning.

I’ve been here for two hours because my corgi has an abscess above her eye and I freaked myself out and brought her to the emergency vet to be safe. I am so tired of waiting — all I wanted was the vet to tell me it’s nothing serious. Talk about naïve to think it’d be quick! She had tests done and the vet assistant said it would be a 40 min-​one hour wait. My dog is my baby so I’d do anything for her but this is crazy. Two hours and counting. After waiting for an hour and a half, I finally asked for an update and they quickly took me to a room to speak to the vet. How much longer would I have waited if I didn’t say anything? They tried to get me to let them keep my corgi for a few more hours. I said no — I’ll take her to her regular vet… which I should’ve just done in the first place. Lesson learned & I’ll try to avoid coming here from now on.

Dr Buckle and her staff are excellent. I have had this emergency hospital information in the hope that I would never need it. My Maltipoo Moe was attacked by a Coyote. My husband and I were scared and fearful. The staff was clear with all instructions. When you have an emergency situation you feel vulnerable. Being so horrible! This place is money hungry. I brought my pug here after she had an accident with her arm, they charged me $ 360 to tell me that is was broken. Finally after about two hours of waiting I got to talk to the doctor and she told me that cidney (my doggy) had a broken arm. They said she needed surgery and it was going to cost me $ 3,000!!! THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I asked her what the second option was and she looked me straight in the eyes and said AMPUTATION of my baby girls leg. Wow. Just wow. I still cannot believe this every time I think of It. Any who I told her that I will be leaving to get a second opinion. The dr released my doggy (looking a little bothered) with NOOOOO pain medicine after I had just paid her $ 360! Thank Jesus cidney wasn’t in too much pain or other wise I wouldn’t have known what to do, seeing that it was 4 in the morning and no other vet was open. Once I got my second opinion it only cost me $ 200 to fix my baby girls leg and she did NOT need surgery nor did they need to amputate her leg! now she is back to normal. No cast, no pain, no nothing. She’s now struttin down the street with all four legs. Wish this place could see her just so they can know how outrageous they are for wanting to chop off her damn leg. BIZZAREEEEEEEEEE. Don’t go here please! They will charge you $ 360 just for walking in the damn door.

My dog Bo got neutered at the humane society, and was given a reckless and careless job. It was as if he came home a different dog. He was no longer happy or playful. Bottom line: His wound came open more than once, and I had to keep going back to get the surgical glue re done. A couple days later I come home from work to find his wound completely open and the size of a quarter, I could see inside his scrotum.
I took him here, and regardless of the price, I KNEW Bo was in good hands. The staff was friendly and understood what we were going through, and most importantly what our dog Bo was going through. His scrotum became infected and everything had to be removed, but I could tell what an amazing job they did. The stitches were clean and the surgery has healed properly. Our dog is back to his happy, loving, and playful self once again. Big thanks to ALL the staff.

As a business they are very smart. They’ve integrated car buying techniques at this hospital. They seperate you from your pet. «Examine» it without you being there which is baffling. Next the vet comes out and talks in circles. Next the «closer» comes out and presents you an astronomical dollar amount $ 500.00 for «tests» I refused service immediately, and the closer left me alone for a long time to later come back with a plan «b» are you freaking serious??? its an ear infection that needs antibiotics and cleaning not a car purchase!
Anyways they held my dog hostage for several hours. I paid $ 75.00 for wasting my time and walked out with nothing!!! They make you feel very guilty and lead you to believe your pet will die if you don’t do what they say… terrible
The next day I went to my regular vet who examined the dog in my presence. Treated my dog, left with a clean ear and 2 meds. Bill was $ 200.00. The entire process was about an hour. The doctors was very thorough and genuinely cared. (In pico Rivera on slauson)

Please avoid this place at all costs, if possible. If your pet is near death and there are no other vets open, then you should consider going to another emergency hospital. This place should be your absolute last resort.
I took my dog here on 7÷12÷15 because he hadn’t eaten since 7÷9÷2015. I changed his food to Purity dry food and he’d thrown it up the same night of the 9^th. I switched back to his old food but noticed he hadn’t touched it the entire day of the 10^th. That night I gave him some chicken which he also threw up. The following day he pooped almost fluorescent yellow but otherwise alert, energetic and happy. He was due for shots on 7÷12÷15 so I figured I’d wait ’til his appointment to tell the vet since my dog was acting completely normal by Saturday night. When I told the vet, he advised that I take him to emergency since it was Sunday evening, they were closing and no other vets were open. So I took him to Crossroads.
Upon arrival, we told the front desk person why were there and they took my dog in within 10 minutes. A few minutes after that, we were taken to a room where we waited quite a while (about 20 minutes) for someone to talk to us. Kevin, the vet assistant, was very polite and informative and gave us the rundown of what they were going to do. My dog needed x-​rays, blood tests, urine sample and a few other things. The first time I kinda questioned my choice in taking him was when they presented me with a form that stated should my dog need CPR for any reason, will I give them authorization to do so… and if I did, it would be an additional $ 600. We were presented with a bill of $ 571.00 for the initial tests and were told to come back in an hour. When we returned, we sat for another 30 minutes in a room and that’s when we met Dr. Buckle. She is a very sweet vet, but in retrospect, because someone is sweet that doesn’t mean you should let your guard down, like I did. She told us that my dog had an intestinal blockage and he had become dehydrated (which made no sense to me because he had gulped down water not too long before the previous vet visit and the vet said he was hydrated). They kept him overnight and they gave him IV Fluids, and Barium to see if he was digesting anything. We had to pick him up between 7 – 7:30AM the following morning, and if we came in after that, we had to pay an additional couple of hundreds more which I thought was insane. So we arrived early and we waited about 45 minutes to be seated in a room and we were given the bad news that he hadn’t made any progress and hadn’t pooped so he needed surgery to extract the blockage. We still did not know what was causing the blockage because it couldn’t be seen in the x-ray…which should have been another sign to me that I made a bad choice in choosing this place. They told me that surgery would be $ 6,000 and that’s when panic hit me. I couldn’t afford that. So I was advised to take my dog to a vet that could work with me. My bill came out to be $ 1,678.00.
I took him to a few other vets and no one could find anything in the x-​rays. Being told that my only option was to put my dog down at this point, I cried non-​stop for hours. That night, my dog ate! He peed normally and had a bit of diarrhea. The following morning, I called various vets in the area and was fortunate enough to find Dr. Shargani at Thomas Veterinary Hospital in Downey. I called in hysterics thinking I only had a few hours left with my dog. He asked me two
simple questions:
«Is your dog eating?» –Yes
«Has he vomited?”-Not since Friday night.
«He does not have a blockage, come to me and I will tell you what to do»
Crossroads misdiagnosed my dog and as a result, I almost euthanized my perfectly healthy dog. They took almost $ 2,000 from me for nothing. Long story short my dog is fine almost a week later.
This place does have a few pros, and I’m only mentioning this because I have a conscience and even though I had a bad experience, I feel that I should tell the good and bad.
The staff is nice, they gave me a folder with an itemized receipt, test results and copies of his x-​ray. They offer you coffee and water and they stream Netflix while you wait… silently trying to keep yourself together.

I found this place to be appalling. My boyfriend and I came home one night to his cat having a giant gash very close to his eye so we panicked and looked up 24 hour vets and this is what we found so we took him in.
We walk in and say exactly what i just said, «my cat got into a fight with another animal and has a giant gash near his eye, we’re afraid it may be too close to his eye and hes bleeding profusely.» the receptionist is nice and says she’ll get someone out immediately to take a look at him and bring him in.
almost 15 minutes later, a guy strolls out taking his sweet time. I ask him what his name is so we can chat on the way to the truck and he immediately shoots back a crappy attitude and gives me his name. no eye contact, no handshake.
He brings in my cat and my boyfriend and i wait some more. almost another 25 minutes later, we finally get the paperwork and we fill it out. they tell us to wait and someone will be right with us. we waited for almost another hour before we were brought into the back to wait another 35 minutes before someone could even talk to us and tell us what’s going on with our cat. the doctor comes in, gives us a bunch of mumbo jumbo about what MIGHT be going on with our cat and what our options are. needless to say, we just want to know what is exactly going on with our cat, not the possibility of options that might be going on with him. just get to the point of the matter here please. im already irritated.
we paid an amount that seemed reasonable and fair so that they can check thoroughly what was going on with his eye. that was fine. however, it was the added over 3 hours of waiting around that followed the one interaction that pissed me off. We took him in at 12:15am and didnt leave until about 4:30am, with the instructions to return at 7:45am to talk to a different doctor which then my boyfriend waited for over an hour to get an update on how to proceed with our cat. I will give them a small amount of credit because it did seem to get really busy after we had admitted our cat, but a courtesy apology for the wait would have been nice.
Our cat ended up needing surgery that cost an amount that I dont even want to get into and he came out looking EXACTLY how he did when we brought him in. They told us to wait a few more days and it will return to normal, so we shall see. Needless to say, the customer service in this place overnight was rude and insensitive, not to mention the fact that not once did someone even give us a courtesy «we apologize for the wait» kind of comment which would have made the experience somewhat tolerable. I will not be taking my cat back here, however they will be seeing me again if this procedure did not do what it was supposed to.

This place is a good last choice place to take your pet if it is really an emergency and everything is else is closed. I’m giving them 5 stars for the friendliness and for being the only ones opened in the middle of the night (atleast where I live) but it is a pricy place and with me I waited there about 8 hrs but that may have been because I took a 2 puppies at the same time.
I do like that at the end they give you a note summarizing everything they did to your pet, all the test done even if negative and medicine prescribed so that u can give it to your vet when you take your pet next time.
They also have little snacks and coffee for free in the waiting room which i thought was a good detail especially since most likely you will be there in the middle of the night.

By far the worst experience I have had at a vets office. Prices are through the roof and the professional opinion can barely be taken serious. I WISH I had Unilocaled this place before I visited.
I arrived home late from work at about 2 am, my three year old Boston terrier Bronx stays outside when I’m not home, but gets brought right in when I arrive.
After I brought him in, I didn’t experience anything unusual. He played with me a bit and headed straight to bed and I followed suit. At 3 am I woke up to find him ramming his face onto my bed, just rubbing and rubbing his face. I examined his face a little and did not notice anything strange. Just thought he might have gotten something in his eye. Within 10 minutes his face was swelling. 15 minutes, his eyes were puffy, his lips were thrice their size, his nose almost shut. I freaked out, washed his face, iced it and gave him a Benadryl. He’s whining, rubbing his face, freaking out… I freaked out with him. I called one of my girlfriends who I had just been on the phone with, frantic and she looked up an emergency vet nearby. Lo and behold, CROSSROADS. Obviously this was an emergency situation and did not have time to Unilocal them to death before we showed up.
My girlfriend called before I arrived and the assistant told her the visit alone was $ 75, fine not bad. Once I arrived the assistant greeted me, asked me a few questions and took Bronx right in. I was the only one there. I filled out some paperwork and was led into one of the rooms. The assistant asked me if Bronx had any preexisting conditions. I then told her I had noticed a SLIGHT limp (hardly) on his right hind leg since earlier that day, after rough housing with the Great Dane back home (although he was not limping anymore). Then she asked if he may have gotten bitten, his whereabouts before the incident etc. I could hear him whining in the other room and I couldn’t help but worry about his breathing. But still no one was telling me anything.
10 minutes later the dr comes in, the FIRST thing she tells me is that she wants an X-​ray for his leg to make sure it’s not broken … Meanwhile… My dogs face is probably still swollen… She goes into explaining why she wants to do it, «to make sure it’s not broken» yaaah? THHHHEEEN she tells me she wants blood work, to administer two injections (didn’t say which) and send him home with meds. Didn’t explain much else and then informs me that the assistant will explain everything in detail.
The assistant comes in, explains, I ask, she answers. Meanwhile I have my gf on the phone who’s listening and totally not buying the charade and I’m sitting there worried sick just wanting my Boston back to tip top shape. Would end up being $ 635 dollars, for an X-​ray for his obviously not broken leg, pain meds for his obviously not broken leg, a steroid injection and an antacid injection to fight off gastric symptoms.
They kept talking about his leg and I’m like, «what’s going on WITH HIS FACE?!». The assistant tells me the swelling is going away, «he’s a lot better the Benadryl you gave him worked well. We can’t find a stinger, probably just an allergic reaction». And I wondered why I brought him here in the first place.
In the meantime, my gf is totally just not buying it and calls to speak to the dr. She tells my gf that my Boston has severe symptoms, he’s secreting from his eyes, extreme swelling, she doesn’t recommend anything else but her care.
I ask to see him. His face is almost entirely back to normal. Walking, breathing, hopping just fine, invisible secretions. They keep insisting on these pain meds for his leg, he’s walking just fine without a limp STILL.
The assistant noticed our reluctance and told me I could take him home and keep an eye on him and bring him back if it gets worse to be treated. I decided to do that.
Within the hour my Boston’s face was back to normal, running around and playing at home. This place takes total advantage of a persons vulnerability and the fact that they are the only ones open in the area at the time. I paid $ 75 for absolutely nothing. They didn’t treat him at all.
As for his one day limp. It’s gone. I didn’t need an xray to tell me he was fine nor did he show any signs of needing pain meds. He didn’t limp at all when in their care.
I still don’t know what caused the swelling on my Boston’s faces for sure, but assume it may have been a bite from an insect. Once the swelling went down he had a tiny bump on his lip, where I am assuming he was bitten.
Taking him to his actual vet in the morning.
I will not step foot in this facility ever again.
If it weren’t for my gf who tripled checked everything and gave me some clarity, I’m sure I would have walked out of there with a $ 635 dollar hole in my wallet and for what? The pack of Benadryl cost $ 8. NEVER AGAIN.
The receptionist was nice, but this place is totally deceiving. So I don’t care too much about elaborating on the one on one interaction.

Unfortunately, I had one of the worst things happen to me! My 8 year old Basset Hound collapsed in my bedroom and as I was running down the hallway with her body, she began to experience convulsions.
After placing her in a crate and driving to Crossroads Animal Emergency Hospital, I ran into their office and told them that I think my dog is deceased. I began to ask about the cremation process and they refused to discuss that with me because they wanted their doctors to examine my dog first.
They rolled out a gurney and rushed my dog’s lifeless body into the ER. We appreciated the fact that if my dog had any signs of life and could have possibly been saved, they were going to work hard to pull a miracle. After being placed in a waiting room, my dog’s basic information was collected by a very professional staff member. The doctor came in around 15 minutes later and informed me that unfortunately, my dog was deceased. She was very calm and comforting so I was able to maintain my composure.
As I began to fill out the appropriate paperwork for my dog’s private cremation, I realized that my shoes and had been soiled by my dog during these unfortunate events. I walked around barefoot after scrubbing everything off of me. I was given a bag for my shoes and hospital booties to walk around in while I took care of my paperwork. Their staff members also took the time to clean up my dog’s crate before returning it to me.
Every time that I was spoken to, I was always alone and nothing was ever said in the presence of others. I was even taken outside for privacy reasons so that they could further answer any questions that I had regarding the cremation process.
We received a hand-​written, personalized condolence card in the mail yesterday. It mentioned my dog’s name and was heartfelt.
While I may not have a lot of experience with this facility, I can say that they made one of the worst days of my life more comforting than I thought it could have been. The degree of professionalism, calming nature, and compassion that I experienced that night made a difficult time easier to handle. Although my dog crossed over to «The Rainbow Bridge» 5 days ago, her memory lives on in pictures scattered throughout the home! RIP Jenna. I miss you!!!
