Revising my former review from 2013 when I purchased a truck from Garavel, giving them a good rating then.
Now (Feb 2016) going to trade in the vehicle I purchased from Garavel in 2013, learned that Garavel misrepresented the vehicle to me as an accident free vehicle when I purchased it. The dealer I was trading into now showed me the vehicle history report, showing an accident in 2006. The accident record significantly decreased the value of the vehicle purchased from Garavel.
Don’t trust them, and if buying a pre-​owned vehicle purchase your own vehicle history report.

Honeymoon is over. We purchased a used car at Garavel beginning of this year, nothing special to report. The deal came with free oil changes, we decided to get our 1st one done this month. The 1st visit went well, a little longer than expected but still OK. When the car started leaking oil in our garage, we set a 2nd appointment to verify what the issue was. We were told that the oil drain plug had to be changed and asked to come back: FYI, nobody other than Garavel touched this car since the purchase. So be it,
3rd appointment today (it’s kind of cool to spend couple of hours at the service department of the garage, once a week…). It took 6 technicians to figure they could not change it and 1 to suggest that we go to VW to get it fixed (and 1 hour and 15 mn). Well, I will do as said, pay my due to VW and NEVER go back to Garavel again.
This garage is a joke.

Had brake and rotors replaced for $ 970.44. Not long after the brakes started to squeak. Took it back for inspection and I was told that the pads and rotors were ok and there was nothing that they can do about this problem, that this is the way they were manufactured and that I have to live with it. Also, had an inspection done since I noticed some oil spots on the ground where I park my car. Paid $ 189.45.00 for the inspection and oil change. I was told that I need to replace the engine oil pan and gasket for a total of $ 729.00. I didn’t have the job performed since I wanted to get a second opinion. So far it’s been over a week and I don’t see any leaks on the ground, I even put a piece of cardboard under the car every night to see if any oil was leaking. Could it been that the oil pan plug was not well adjusted the last time that I had the oil change at the same dealer? Will not go back to this place, although I had my car service at this dealer since I first bought it.

We were traveling from NJ to NH and had an issue with our Jeep diesel; check engine light and Jeep will not restart in 150 miles. This was the closest dealership on our route. Spoke to Jeep Assist @ 7:15am and have them advise the service dept., that we were coming in and they didn’t answer the phone. We arrived @ 7:30 am and I explained my dilemma to service guy who in turn to his service mgr. We were advised they could not help to check out the Jeep until tomorrow nor provide the phone number to the next closest dealer. The service mgr made up some ludicrous repair issue on a brand new Jeep and would not even put the scan tool on it to see what was wrong. We eventually found one and it was a software upgrade for a TSB. Maybe the service mgr and service writer should familiarize themselves more on the products they sell, than be lazy and look for an easy way out. I hope when they are in need, they get shut out. Buyer beware, I don’t trust them after this experience. The only good thing is that, I’ll never ever back.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this dealership. The salesman we worked with was named Stacey and he was super helpful, informative, but not too pushy. We ended up buying a Jeep Wrangler a week after meeting Stacey and the entire process was seamless. We love our new car and would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy or lease a car!

we bought a car here and post purchase have been treated with no respect. We were promised a second key and owners manual upon purchasing the car and 3 months later stil have nothing and have been told that it is not their responsibility to provide it. lesson learned, dont take their word for it, get it in writing. so disappointed. we probably should have proceeded with caution when we went to go test drive the car and an employees «friend» had taken it for a ride to their house!

The buying experience at this dealership was positive, fast, and seamless. I ran into a couple of issues post-​sale but they worked with me to find a solution. I know it sounds cliché, but they really are devoted to top level customer service and satisfaction. Very pleased with my purchase.

I am putting one star because that’s the minimum rating I can give. But if I could I’d give zero stars.
Let’s start with the service department. I have a very well maintained Jeep (all service and oil changes done on Time etc.) every single time I go to get a oil change someone appears after about 10 min (a different person each time) and tells me that something is wrong. They came and told me I needed a new water pump and gave me a $ 500 estimate while bullying me telling me how I could blow my motor driving the 2 min drive home. I went over to another local and reliable mechanic who charged me less than half the price.
The sales dept. Has not only a very pushy sales team who will try to force you to buy anything but they have over priced pre owned vehicles. Priced higher than the blue book value all while giving you chump change for your trade in .
Long story short stay away if you value your money.

I was duped into buying a car by a salesman who didn’t know the car. He told me that if I got the GPS, then the rear camera would come with an audible feature. He simply lied or was misinformed. After I got my car, I had to have them put in rear audible sensors at MY cost.
When I was deciding on a car, I told my salesman that I wanted every option that would help me since I have some vision issues. He recommended the HID lights and the rear camera. Once again, after I got my car and started looking through the manual, I discovered that there was a blind spot detection system. That’s exactly what I needed. When I inquired about getting it installed they said that it wasn’t possible to install it after market.
Finally, after reaching out to Chrysler East Coast because the managers at Garavel wouldn’t listen to anything that I had to say, I was able to reach Al, the sales manager. I had a meeting with him. He suggested I look at other vehicles and he would appraise the car I just bought and said he’d work with me. Well, that was 1 month ago. I’ve called him 6 times and he has NEVER returned any of my calls.
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER. YOU WILL NOT BE TREATED FAIRLY!

Avoid this dealership at all costs. Sneaky salespeople and even worse management. Don’t trust them… we agreed to a price and they tried to sneak an $ 800 charge onto the purchase order so I walked. Now I now why people don’t trust used car salesmen.

Im not sure what is more surprising. the fact that I get consistently good service here or the other negative reviews. I did not buy my jeep at this dealer (I wanted a bare bones wrangler to customize and this dealer tends to sell more loaded models) and despite that, I always get fantastic service here. Anything from oil changes, general maintenance, to repairs have all been handled professionally and I never have issues following a service. I am almost hesitant to leave this review because I don’t want to jinx it. The same people have been working here for years and have always been a pleasure to work with. Shopping here may be a different experience but since when is car shopping pleasant? :)

Okay. So my experiences here have varied. Ultimately, I think that the dealership has an okay garage but that they charge too much for the level of service that you get. Sure it’s very pretty from the outside but when it comes down to it, I want a mechanic, not an apple store. My biggest issue is the diagnostic fee that they hit you with once you walk in the door. Beyond that, it’s the little things. I replaced my breaks there and they’ve squeeked ever since. I know that they’re not supposed to do that. To their credit, after I was unhappy with the results of a fuel injection service they gave me a 200 dollar credit. I just used that credit to change out my battery for a new 169.00 unit. I still ended up paying for a half hour of labor for it though. I spoke to the tech and the only thing he did, (words from his mouth — not mine) was swap the battery out. No diagnostic on my old battery or anything. Normally I wouldn’t care but they charge over a 100.00 an hour for labor. So how long does it take to really swap out a battery? A full 30 minutes? Maybe it does. Just seems like a lot for what the tech described as a minimally labor intensive service.

I was in the area a couple days ago and went in without an appointment for service because my on board computer was acting spastic. I waited 10 minutes for some lady to show up to ‘help’ me. I told her the problem and she said none of her technicians were in to look at it and that they had all gone home for the day. The time was 5:20pm and they’re open until 7. Just as she finished her sentence a tech walked in to the service area and asked if there was anything else he needed to do. I was pretty shocked at this point but decided to ask what my options were and she said I could come back the next day. I asked if I should make an appointment and she said just come in tomorrow and started talking to a different customer…
Needless to say horrible experience and I won’t be going back there

Mixed results with repair shop. Watch out for the classic dealer scams, $ 200 oil flushing and other scams/​dings on your wallet.
As a new car dealer, this place is actually the old Fairfield County Dodge dealership with a new coat of paint. That was one of the worst dealerships in state of CT. It was within days of being shut down by Corp, city and state of CT, years ago. First week the new owner fired many of the «convicts» that were running the asylum, but there are a few still working there. Just walk in and you can feel the atmosphere in the showroom. Don’t even think of buying from this dealership or a Subaru from their same ownership (Garavel Subaru) crosstown. With a very special warning as to anything related to their finance dept. A hearty: Caveat emptor. Buy your Chrysler or Subaru elsewhere.

Worst dealer I have ever attempted to work with. First, they try to convince you of an MSRP that is a couple thousand over actual MSRP, then they low ball you on trade in value. Would have been more than $ 5K more here for the exact same Jeep I found down the road at another dealer. What a joke this place is. Ask to see the actual invoice and they’ll show you the door.
