We had a party of 8. We all enjoyed our food and especially the grilled octopus appetizer. We had the bronzino, shrimp & scallops risotto, orange roughy, stuffed shrimp, grilled mahi-mahi and a couple other appetizers. The dishes were well flavored, fresh and the portions were large. Service was fine. Atmosphere was lovely and happening. Definitely returning!

Waited 10 min before getting a menu. Best thing were raw oysters. Fish was overlooked. Was okay, but certainly not good.

I have been here several times. The food is ALWAYS top notch. The Lobster Santorini is the specialty. A MUST have for lobster lovers. Bring your appetite! Chris, Sebastian and the crew will make you feel welcome. During BUSY days(Moms day, Dads day etc) the service can be a little slow, BUT enjoy the fabulous views and marina watching. Try taking the slow route and enjoy a Great drive along the Gold Coast of CT to the restaurant.

Just recently we had Easter dinner at Harbor Lights! I must say I will never go back to this place again! The experience was awful food was cold and blend, the place was dirty! I felt like I was in a dinner! Coffee cups were stained and dirty! There was a waiter that was constantly walking and hitting my chair so annoying! This place needs a serious renovation and new experience staff that knows what they are doing!

Maybe Mother’s Day not the best time to try. Beautiful view but service was horrific. Fixed menu. Enjoyed my meal… stuffed shrimp was very good, but beyond that, I would never recommend. The Bloody Mary was horrible(and I love a Bloody Mary). Tasted like cocktail sauce. Will never come back.

It was 20 minutes before we were finally brought stale bread and USED butter(literally half eaten butter). Upon pointing this out to our waiter, we were given a new basket which we quickly gobbled down. After another 20 minutes, we gave in and asked for another basket of bread while our food was apparently being grown/harvested/prepared… this time I saw our waiter take the uneaten bread basket from another waiter who JUST cleared it off ANOTHERPATRON’S TABLE! 0__________0 In total, waited 1.5 hours for my main course … which was RAW oysters, RAW clams and a cold poached lobster much smaller than the advertised 1&½ lb. Oh and, the acoustics in the main dining area basically amplify noise. Be prepared to shout across your table for 4.

Don’t even know where to begin… I’m writing this review as we speak at the restaurant. Very disappointed considering I had a pretty good experience last time. We arrived at 7:20pm as the sun was setting. We ordered 15 minutes in and still no bread, after asking for bread twice, we got bread that was eaten and the butter was used! Not cool!!! Food took forever to come out, our main course came at 8:55pm. I understand restaurants get busy but an hour and 35 min of waiting for your main course is not acceptable!

Lovely, reasonably-priced seafood(did not try non-seafood meats though) and charming, amiable service. And if you go on a quiet night you can get a seat by the window, where you can see the Sound and the sunset. My only complaint is that their selection seems a bit small compared to other seafood restaurants – no soup or crostini for example – but then the restaurant itself is quite small. Will definitely be going back!

I read the reviews and thought to give this spot a try anyway. The view is beautiful. The set up inside is lovely as well. Unfortunately the food did not match. Our crabcake appetizer was too bread and flavorless. The mussels were overcooked. I ordered the seafood with risotto and my scallops, lobster and shrimp were very tough. Had to also add lemon for more flavor. Our party also ordered the stuffed shrimp with crab meat and the stuffing was all bread, no crab. The 1−½lb lobster was more sized as a ¼ lobster. Over cooked as well. The dessert with a puff French pastry and homemade ice cream was okay. All and all, the view is nice and that is all. The Restuarant has a lovely menu but they need to hire a new chef that can spruce it up a bit.

Been here a few times, and never a let down. Had ½ a dozen oysters of the blue point variety(yes they come from 1 block away and are the oversized variety; just the best) I ordered the Prix Fixe menu and NE Clam Chowder, Sole Francaise and then the Profiterole for dessert; my wife had just had an app of Shrimp & Coquilles St Jacques New England Clam Chowder: Holy Chowder! the best jamb packed soup! with plenty of bacon and clams and not a lot soup; very hearty and the best ever! Sole Française was with carrot and green beans and capers. Very nice and then the profiteroles were served with cream and ice cream. Very kind service and restaurant was moderately full for a Tuesday night. Maybe smart to have reservations for Fri and Sat eves. For the summer, the later sunsets will make this even more romantic and beautiful.

Pricey but great seafood. Very fresh lobster. We had the bisque(huge lobster chunks), lobster rolls(great, could’ve done without the crispy bacon strips, but grounded the very fresh meaty lobster chunks, and the fresh lobster in(or out of shell as shown) was very fresh and lots of meat. Limited but good wine selection and nice views of the harbor from every table.

We had a very unpleasant experience, due mainly to the Manager who clearly does not know how to manage a restaurant. Our waitress was great, but when the salmon we ordered wasn’t cooked at all, we sent it back. It came back a full 15 min later(after most of us were done eating) and it was once again raw. Our friend had lost his appetite by now and no one seemed to care. After 15 min of sending the 2nd dish back, the Manager came back and said«I heard you wanted to talk to me.» My response? «No, you should want to talk to us!» He was completely clueless. Should’ve said«let me bring dessert and coffee for everyone right now» but did nothing. Food was meh, the best part is the view of the water.

Went for a birthday dinner. We were seated quickly with our reservation for six. The view was beautiful although it was low tide so it can be a little smelly from that and boat fumes. The drink orders were taken quickly but my husband wanted a crushed mint leaf in his drink and they said they didn’t have any? The Atlantic seafood tower was good just a little pricey. The filet was disappointing, the scallop appetizer didn’t mix well with the chutney. The lamb llollipops were cold but good. Whatever it came with was not good. The salad was overpriced. The swordfish was tasty though. The deserts were another disappointment but the cappuccinos were fine.

Had dinner again here. My son and I shared the grilled octopus starter — properly grilled, tender, nice sauce. We also each had the soft shell crab — fantastic. These May have been the meatiest s.s.crabs I have ever had. And the lemon butter sauce was perfect. Barbara had the salmon and it was just right. Great job Jimmy and team.

There are some things that Harbor Lights does right. It is a lovely spacious restaurant with lovely water views of the Sound. The birdwatching was wonderful. We saw ospreys, egrets, cormorants, gulls, crows and starlings during our 30 minute wait for our food. The wait staff was very attentive about filling up our water glasses. When the food did arrive, my poach salmon was over cooked. They graciously remade the dish. The linguine with shellfish was a big hit at our table, but it was not served with any bread to soak the lovely broth up. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon were good. The coffee was weak. The crème brûlée was unevenly burnt on top. So if you want to have a lovely view of the Sound and have a time to bird watch while waiting for your meal, you should definitely consider Harbor Lights an option for water side dining!

Someone with great culinary expertise and an innovative approach to food needs to buy this place and overhaul it. It’s a great space, with a large bar, and wonderful water views, but the food is way below par. The lobster bisque was watery and had no flavor and the salad was just ok. Won’t be going back unless this place is totally revamped. Way too many other great places to eat great food in the area to spend any time here.

I had dinner with my wife here for Valentine’s Day. We had an excellent experience. The service was great(Clara our server was amazing) and the food even better. I will defenetly come back during the summer. They have a great view.
