Innovation Tile & Stone

I have to admit that I hired them before reading the Unilocal reviews. After reading them, I felt like a lot of the people here. Ruby missed our first appointment, but she did show up the next day. We wanted a stacked stone fireplace. Her price was a little on the high side, but she said it would get done in 3 days, and she included a free carpet installation so we hired them.
The worker showed up on the day she said they would. He was sub-​contracted through them, and this was his first time working for her. Rodrigo was nice and very professional. Lucky for me because I was told she hired him without knowing anything about him.
He did an excellent job! He would have done the job in 3 days but he wasn’t given all the supplies from Innovation.
To sum it up, yes there was a lot of calls to Ruby and her team. But she eventually called me back. I didn’t get the carpet from them. She switched the price on the carpet and it was super high. I would include a pic of the fireplace, but this was Rodrigo’s work and he is not their employee.

worst experience ever! Im getting the same run around everyone else did. All my tile was complete but I have no vanity, shower doors, or sink. She tried to gv me this refurbished vanity. I wasn’t having it. I told her you promised to one exactly the same the the one you tore out. She said she would order a new one its been 1 ½ weeks now and she tells me she ordered it and that’s whats holding up the job. I called her she said they would be there Monday to install vanity and shower doors. as of 11:44 today 03÷23÷15 no one has shown up. I am so upset. what actions can I take against these people. I owe her one more payment but even it they don’t finish the job Its not enough to cover the cost of a new vanity, sink and shower doors. Can I take legal action against them? they are unprofessional & looking to take peoples money. I advise anyone to not use them.

I think they might of lost a sale… here waiting in front of their store says «will be back at 1:30», it’s now 1:40 and no one. Too bad but with all the bad reviews maybe I dodged a bullet. Good luck guys!

The punch line is, worst experience ever! My countertops were supposed to be installed before Thanksgiving and today ¹⁄₂₈ my money is returned to me and they are backing out of the deal. I’ll tell the story below for those who want the details.
I went into the store knowing exactly what I wanted (stone color/​variety, detail and finish). I received a quote which was cheaper than a competing bid so I decided to go with this company. Ruby came out and measured my kitchen cabinets and gave me a price (it was not exactly in line with the initial quote). I told her to correct her math and she did. I said I would let her know and she knocked off $ 300 right there if I made the deal. I should’ve been more weary of these tactics.
I did not hear from here for a week and a half. I was told there was a death in the family and that she left the country very quick. I felt it was unprofessional to give me a personal sob story, but she gave me another $ 200 off the price for this treatment so I forgave her. Just like a previous reviewer now, I had set up an appointment and nobody showed up to make the templates. I called Ruby and she said she would try to find the guy. I called bak an hour later and no answer. Hours later she tells me the guy is not going to make it. I wasted my entire weekend where I had plans to go out of town because he was to come on Saturday afternoon. We rescheduled for Monday evening at 6:30pm.
At 5:50pm on Monday I get a call asking for my address again to put it into the GPS. So I’m thinking he is on his way now but obviously with traffic won’t make it by 6:30. I call Ruby at 7:30 and no answer… no answer all night in fact. I text her that I want my money back.
A couple days later I get a call from Kenneth who says he’s the owner and says he was reviewing accounts and saw that mine has slipped through the cracks. He makes an appointment to come out and take the templates and says he will come out with the fabricator personally and that he has suspended Ruby and the other guy (Mauriano?) without pay and that he has other complaints about them.
He arrives and I realize he is a kid… looks 25 years old maybe. He seems nice and really wants to fix the situation so I give them a chance. He says he guarantees the install to happen the day after Christmas (26^th). When he leaves the installer says that he can have it done before Christmas. I have a good feeling about this and confirm with Kenneth who says he will let me know. On the 26^th he tells me there is a problem with the slab that it’s not big enough and shows me a sketch with the third piece outside the border of the slab. He offers to do a great job making the seam invisible and I don’t go for it. He hunts for a bigger slab and in the process realizes that I was ok with a seam under the faucet so he says it will be done in a few days. I tell him I’m going out of town for a few weeks and he is unable to do it before I leave so he has to do it with my father. Before I leave the install is scheduled for Tuesday. I asked him to call my dad Monday to confirm. He doesn’t call. My dad calls Tuesday and they schedule for Thursday… I’m not too worried since I’ll be out of town for a few weeks, just want it done before I get home. Thursday he asks my dad to come look at the stone before it’s installed… it’s already cut, but for some reason he is worried. My dad goes to the store and there is only a small sample piece not the actual peices to install. After some negotiation he takes the sample to color marble in alhambra where I chose my color and compares the finish (apparently the fabricator applied the leather finish himself to a flat slab). My dad notices a white vein going through the sample and questions it. Turns out it goes through the whole slab. I ask him where the slab that Ruby bought is. She sent me a picture of it and said that it was already leather finish… no answer. Kenneth says he will get another slab because he doesn’t want to install that one. He arranges to go with my dad to the stone yard to pick out a new slab. I talked to him on the phone (called him from France) to confirm this with him. Before the meeting he calls my dad and returns my money to him and says he is backing out of the deal because he is losing too much money on it. What about all my time that I’ve wasted trying to get a product out of this sorry excuse for a company.
At least they do eventually return the money.

This company is completely unprofessional, dishonest, disorganized, unreliable, and unethical. We hired this company to do a job that was supposed to take 3 – 4 days. Over three weeks later the job was still not done. During this time I was relentlessly trying to get a hold of Ruby, the general manager, Sometimes she would answer my calls but usually she would not. When Ruby told me people would be at my house and no one came, she would act surprised when I would call her to tell her that no one showed up. When they finally came, the tile work was so horrible we had to fire them and hire a different company to finish the job. Beware of this company! Please keep looking!

Would give them a 0 star but i had to pick at least one. This place is so bad! If you are looking into buying tile for your home DO NOT come here, I repeat DO NOT come here. We were looking into buying tile for our home and came here on a friday and asked what they had in stock to take home that same day Ruby (the manager) said everything they had there was in stock. We liked a certain tile and she said it wasnt available until tommorrow because they had to pick up at there local warehouse so we had to choose another one same story with that one so we asked what do you actually have in stock she showed us like 3 different type of tile, we ended up choosing one and once she was ringing us up it turns out that it was also in the warehouse. After Ruby promising the tile will be available next day, Saturday in the morning we agreed and payed for it as she would call us early next morning. Only for Saturday to come and she didnt call. So once it was noon and we had the workers finished setting up the floor we called and she appolize and said she would call us back after checking what was taking so long, she never did call and wasnt answering our calls afterd calling her from multiple phones she finally answered and said s he was so sorry but it wont be available until Tuesday and againg she said she would call us Tuesday so we can go pick them up. We were so angry but we had no choice but to wait. Tuesday came around and we didnt receive a call. We had to call her Again only for her to tell me that she was sorry but that there was a mistake on the computer with the inventory and they had less than they actually had. So ended up going back and choosing a different tile that again was going to ready by Thursday she apologized and said they will deliver it free of charge. Thursday came and nothing. We called Ruby Friday and she said she taught they had delivered but that she would call them to deliver after telling her to deliver after 4 pm they delivered before right when my mom was going to go pick up the kids fron schol at 2:30pm and she just gold the delivery guy to leave them next to our door on the porch. Once she came back and opened up the box she noticed that the tile was not the one we had choosen but a way different tile. So Saturday we went back and asked for a refund only to hear that because we paid with cash and not with a card she had to get approval from the corporate office and have them write me a check that wouldnt be available until Monday. I was unable to pick it up on Monday because i had to work in the morning and had school after, so my mom went on Tuesday morning and i send a message to ruby explaining why my mom was going. When my mom there Tuesday. Morning when they barely opened a guy that works there told her they no longer had the check and thT Ruby was not
mom called Ruby (cell) and she told her that because we hadnt gone for it Monday she decided to send it by mail, my mom was trying to explian to her why we were unable to pick it up and that she could of called us and asked us if she should send it or not, Ruby juat said he was sorry and that there wa nothing she can do. My mom called me and told me she didnt receive the check so i told her to wait in the parking lot and that i would call her so she can give her a check and cancel the other one. She never answered but she did come out from the store (when supposebly she wasnt there) and got shoked when she saw my mom still there. she gave her the check after talking to my mom forever. FYI she was the owner according to the check and she still tried to scam us by not adding the tax but my mom didnt mive until they gave her EVERYTHING. WORST experience ever save yourselves the headaches and dont go there ever.
