Norwalk Inn & Conference Center

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with the Norwalk Inn on a fundraising event this June. Lisa could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. We felt as she was an extension of our team and invested in making our event as successful as possible. Her team the week of was equally as supportive and the day of serviced all our ad hoc requests. Kudos to Lisa on forging such a positive relationship with first time, and now lifetime, clients. Thank you!

It was ok. Like others have mentioned, the walls are ridiculously thin so if it’s really full be prepared to hear others. Worse yet, loud talkers walking down the hallway.
Bathroom is small but adequate. The lighted mirror is awesome. The beds are not soft. Large tv.
We booked through Orbitz, and I think we paid more than we should have and for some reason we didn’t get breakfast with that rate. Although, when I looked at Orbitz for the next night the rate was lower and it included breakfast, go figure.

THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN! Do not take this lightly! The people next door were there for one reason and one reason only, and I heard far more than I was comfortable with, not once, but several times from 7pm to 5am. At one point I thought their bed would break through our wall and finally I had to call the front desk with a noise complaint after being awake all night. I heard every word, every laugh, every toilet flush and every move these people made all through the night. At hotels you expect some noise, some door slamming, people in the halls, etc., but this was unacceptable. I would not stay at this hotel again for this reason alone.
The next morning for free breakfast, the woman working in the restaurant asked for our room number and said someone had already eaten with that room number. I told her that is OUR room number and we have not had breakfast. She was rude and gave us the dirtiest look. When we asked for fruit, she huffed and puffed. (They were not doing the buffet since the hotel wasn’t busy). My boyfriend asked for a side of bacon and she sucked her teeth with an attitude because she didn’t want to give a petty side item with the free breakfast. She was so unpleasant I’m not sure how she is employed.
Other things I didn’t care for: The bathrooms are renovated but have no towel rods and the toilets have that flush like you see in a public bathroom that you flush with your foot. There was a small opening in the grout on the floor by the shower where ants were coming in and out of. The room itself is small and the space between the bathroom door and entry of the room was extremely tight. If you ask for scrambled eggs at breakfast, you get egg beaters. If you ask for sunny side up, you’ll get a real egg. One evening we asked for towels at 9:30pm and were told we could not get them because it was «too late».
Betty at the front desk didn’t bother to ask how our stay was when we checked out. She simply said «still want to charge to card XXXX?». Customer service is lousy. Overall I was dissatisfied with our stay and will stay at Hilton or Marriott next time.

Exceeded all expectations. Room was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Everything was scrupulously clean. Staff was friendly and made us feel personally at home. We highly recommend. Will definitely choose this spot again in the future. Also price was reasonable considering the amenities provided. Highly recommend.

Facility was clean yet very dated. Numerous patch jobs in the ceiling due to leaky pipe repair. Beds were hard as a rock. Mattress wouldn’t even budge an inch. Extremely uncomfortable and made the 2 day visit awful as no sleep was had. Walls are paper thin and you can hear chatter and movement on either side of room. There is continental breakfast or buffet, both cost money and are not included. High def TVs with low def service. Rooms were tiny but fit the need. Iron in room was efficient. Kurig in room was nice and exceeded quality of most hotel coffee. Fridge and complementary water was also nice. Staff was friendly and efficient. Exercise room and sauna were adequate. Dinning and conference rooms are the best attraction to this place. It looks like they are planning a renovation, so hopefully all of this will change. Until then, I would look anywhere or sleep in a car before visiting this place again as the main reason for staying was worthless.

Very cozy, clean and cute hotel! Staff was easygoing and friendly, making check-​in smooth and quick. Our room was clean and very new and the wooden flooring was a nice surprise! The hotel’s sauna was also a nice touch.

This place is crappy. Walls are absolutely paper thin. We can hear everything the people next door are saying and doing. Music from downstairs booming. Thank goodness we have earplugs. Don’t stay here unless you have to.

It’s a good place to stay if you want to be close to Westport and sono, but they need to get new beds in this hotel. I seriously thought about sleeping on the floor this time. I have been here a few times now and if there is one suggestion for management it would be to please get rid of the mattresses from the 1800’s. Abe Lincoln might have had a firm mattress but it’s like sinking in to a bag stuffed With more bags.

I would love to rate this hotel higher because the staff at the front desk, Merissa and Adrian bend over backwards to accommodate and the rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. However, I can only rate it 3 star because of a lot of little things:
NO TOWEL RACKS IN THE BATHROOM (this is counter productive to their energy policy because since there is no place to hang the wet towels they have to be washed everyday). NO SLIP RESISTANT STRIPS IN THE BATHTUB. NO DOUBLE LOCK ON THE DOOR. The hotel has many plusses: excellent buffet breakfast at no charge during the week if reservations are made directlly to the hotel, free WIFI everywhere with a free computer in the lobby, free water in the fridge every day, plenty of free parking, extremely clean rooms, altho some are quite small. If you are looking for a well priced, conveniently located, clean and friendly hotel, and are willing to overlook the little things, this is the place to stay. For extended stay, there is also a home on the grounds that has been convereted into 11 apartments with kitchens and all the conveniences. We will stay there again.

Norwalk Inn is an affordable place that recently was renovated. The restaurant inside the hotel is good but a little pricey. The room is clean and the internet is free. Parking is ample. Breakfast buffet is free if you book directly with them. It’s similar to the Hampton Inn breakfast buffet. It’s a local hotel.

So very clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are great places as well. Good room rates.

This place is terrible if you’re an amateur international spy. The walls are thin. I imagine conducting your clandestine activities would be a bit of a struggle. Other than that everything is fine. It’s a normal hotel.

Room was clean, and bed was comfortable, but definitely on the small side (the rm, not the bed)
We had a slight issue with a booking error, that caused an overcharge and taking care of that was difficult due to the reception staff not being able to handle such matters, or just not wanting to, ultimately had to deal with the owner.
Cable service was sub-​par, looked like we were watching a bootleg movie taken in a theater.
Food, on the other hand, is why they’re getting 2 stars, we each had an entrée and both were really done well, great flavor and cooked right. Breakfast was typical hotel offering, buffet style eggs, bacon, etc.
I would give them a 2^nd chance without a fight, but only after checking out my other options first.

Let me just start off by saying if I could give this less than 1 star I would. The hotel as a whole isn’t even mediocre to say the least, I felt disgusting. But that’s not what my problem was with, it was the staff of hotel. In particular with the man working the front counter named Lindsey.
I was staying in the area for my friends wedding and when I first checked into the room there was a terrible odor of marijuana. I went to tell the staff of the smell and they assured me they would look into it. I then left for the wedding.
Upon my return the smell was still there so I told him about it and he said there was nothing he could do so I decided to just stick it out throughout the night. I started developing which was without exaggeration the worst headache of my life so I went to talk to him once more to see if there was another room I could move to. He told me there was none (the parking lot was empty).
I asked him if he could just check again for another room and he told me he couldn’t. I said is there anything he could do and he responded with «I can give you and air freshener, make it smell like flowers». Of course I thought this was the rudest comment ever and asked to speak with the manager.
He manager was exceptionally nice, of which I’m very grateful for and I told her I was leaving, she then told me she could move me to another room. However at that point I just wanted to go home.
I know this story is long and I feel as if it might not fully grasp just how rude and almost mean the employee was but I urge everyone to please stay away from this hotel if they can help it.
Absolutely disgusting with stains on the walls and carpeting.

This local hotel is a hidden gem, while locals may know about it, we sometimes forget about stopping in for a drink or a meal. I love the bar, it’s cozy and friendly, and the bar menu is our go to for a quick bite. I love the fact that you can get a cheese plate! The Caesar salad is great, and the prime rib sandwich is awesome.

Stayed here over Mothers Day weekend. Renovations are beautiful and hotel looks great. Staff were friendly and helpful room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. As soon as I got in the room I could hear the guest next door talking on the phone. I could hear every word. The next day was the same with different guests. The walls could use some soundproofing. Everything else was fine. AAA rates were reasonable. Would probably stay here again, but would request an isolated room.

Stayed here over the Christmas holiday in order to get a good nights sleep before heading over to our family’s house — and it was great!
When our alternative was the sketchy looking motel on Westport Ave. this was amazing by comparison. Clean, professional & friendly staff, nicely decorated lobby area and rooms.
We had a single king room: comfortable bed but it took up the entire room. For a one night stay we would highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I stayed there on an over-​night trip up the east coast. I was drawn to it because it seemed like a nice place to stay, away from the noise of I-​95, and the price seemed reasonable. ($ 94 on a Friday night with the AAA discount.)
That being said, we won’t be staying again. Paper-​thin walls, but we’ll get to that.
The hotel staff was very nice, we got in at 12:30am, and the gentleman checking us in could tell we were exhausted and got us our room keys as fast as he could. That, I was grateful for. But overall, cosmetically speaking, it was… meh.
Be forewarned – there is no elevator, so if you’re on the 2^nd floor, be prepared to lug your suitcase up a flight of stairs.
The hotel was clean enough, but teetering on the edge of starting to become seedy. The carpets didn’t look the cleanest, and the wallpaper looked like it was starting to peel. Could use a face-​lift.
The room was alright, we stayed in a one king bedroom. I did like the fact that ours had wood floors with simple runners at the doorway and by the bed. There is little that weirds me out more than hotel carpeting, so that was a nice touch. However, the toilet was one of those public-​bathroom-​style toilets where instead of your normal flush handle on the tank, it had the metal pipes above with the industrial handle that you’re always reluctant to touch with your hands (and I never do). Additionally, there were mysterious brown stains spotted on the wallpaper and on the bed skirt… I didn’t want to begin thinking what it might be, obviously something bleach couldn’t get out. The mattress was alright, comfortable enough that when I was eventually able to fall asleep, I slept alright. The shower was passable, but the water pressure wasn’t the best, my shower took about twice as long as normal. The wallpaper was starting to peel in some places, and the furniture looked a little care-​worn, but for the price we paid, that’s the quality that could really be expected – meh. Again, the place could use some updating.
Now, I like to think I’m reasonable enough that little things like the cosmetics of a room, mysterious stains aside, wouldn’t completely turn me off from a hotel. However, did I mention the paper-​thin walls? Our stay may have been mediocre, but we certainly could tell the couple in the room next to us were having a good time and at least *ahem* enjoying the company. However, let me be clear that when I say we heard them, we heard EVERYTHING.
When we checked out the next morning, I asked the concierge if he could give the couple in room ### a high-​five from us. I really hope he did it, too.
I didn’t get a chance to check out the hotel amenities, so I can’t expand on what else they may offer, but the room comes with the usual stuff: shampoo, lotion, mouthwash, soap, and shower cap. Also included in the room is a mini-​fridge with complimentary tiny bottles of water and coffee station. There was even a phone in the bathroom, if that’s your thing.
Don’t expect much from the Norwalk Inn, it’s average – at best, but I’ve stayed in worse. Their prices seemed decent, so if you don’t care much about pristine room quality, your privacy, or hearing your neighbors’ every move, go ahead and try it.

I recently got married in the area and we had most of our guests (more than 100!) stay at the Norwalk Inn. The staff was so accommodating and on top of things. It made our lives so much easier having complete confidence that our guests were in good hands!
The manager, Lisa, was very responsive and on top of details such as putting out a sign letting people know when to get the shuttle, giving gifts to each of our guests, and making the weekend really special.
The hotel provided shuttles to and from the venue for next to no cost (just the tip for the driver) which was the real selling point for us. Nobody had to drive, plus we had a bunch of out of town people would never have found the wedding venue otherwise!
They also kept the bar open late and put out snacks for the «after party.» The hotel is cozy and clean and very reasonably priced. We didn’t want our guests to have to spend a lot of money, so the Norwalk Inn was just perfect!
