Rodger’s Sandwiches

Tasty food and good value. Service is a bit slow, especially during lunchtime. The sign at the door says they take American Express but at the register they unapologetically do not. Customer service is a bit lacking.

Stale bread, processed cheese and old lettuce. Could not finish terrible, and 9 $ stay away

Me and my cousin came in looking for the korean bbq bowls. They were out but the lady still gave us a sample and recomended some other menu items. Picked the spicy aoli sandwitch and it was amazing and will definatly be going back becuase of the food and the customer service.

Pleasantly surprised by the food and service at this little deli. I was looking for something semi healthy and saw this place. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl and it was really good. The lady serving me was really nice. I also ordered a smoothie and that was also good.

Ok. That’s really all there is too this place. Not bad but not good either. Girls inside were super nice. It’s connected to the yogurt shop next door which makes for a kind of odd layout. Sandwich was bland. Rosemary bread was dry and didn’t taste that fresh. The Mac salad tastes like the Costco kind that comes in the mega tub. Don’t think I’ll be back. Definitely a spot for the Cerritos College crowd.

First time here and I have to say, wow. The place is clean, the staff very friendly and polite. Just tasted my sandwich and it is amazingly huge! I was a little worried about the price but wow. Totally worth it. The red potato salad was amazing too! I will be coming back for sure

I was craving a sandwich and hadn’t been here in a while so I called in my order when they just opened for take out. Plus I try to support independent delis/​restaurants over chains, whenever possible.
I bite into my sandwich and there’s nasty taste that pervaded the sandwich. It tasted as though someone took a dirty, wet dish rag, wiped the sandwich counter, and then placed the bread over it without wiping it dry. We’re all familiar with that funky sponge/​rag that’s been sitting on a counter collecting bacteria! Only this wasn’t a smell, it was the TASTE. I was so disgusted (and I hate to waste food), that I didn’t eat the other half. Someone I work with couldn’t believe it could be that bad and sliced off a bite off the other half. She took a bite, chewed, and immediately grimaced… spitting it out.
I’ll never return and it’s not necessarily a good thing to say that Subway actually is a better bet. But in this case, it is. If you dare to eat there, be wary of their hygiene and food handling practices.

This place has amazing sandwiches. I went here recently to grab a quick lunch and I ordered the California club. It was great, it had the perfect amount of lettuce, meat and condiments.
What makes it to convenient is that it’s only a few minutes from my college and it was really cheap, I will definitely go there again when I get the chance.

Sandwiches are ok they just put or much lettuce on them and less meet place is pretty clean.

This establishment is awesome. It’s a small sandwich shop that is also connected to a yogurt/​smoothie shop. I worked across the street and would come here for a modest budget friendly lunch. It’s located in a little strip mall that included Sam’s Burgers and Chevron on one end, and it’s next this this horrible Chinese place that I’ve had numerous terrible service from (mainly the owner: terrible attitude, not accountable for anything, and hangs up on you on the phone when conversation doesn’t go his way). But I’m not here to talk about them, lol.
They have daily specials and also everyday specials. The everyday specials are for… a 6inch for $ 3.99. But let me tell you, these sandwiches are fat. I haven’t tried anything else other than the everyday specials. My favorites to order are the turkey sandwich or the BLT. I LOVE THE BLT. The bacon is so crisp and they put plenty in there. Have you ever gotten a BLT and you’re like, where the f is the bloody bacon??! Not a concern here. You hear and feel the crunch of the bacon in every bite. Omg, I really want one now. But I dont work across the street anymore and I live quite aways… I mean Quite a ways. :(They also have a teriyaki bowl special for I think 4 bucks, but I’ve never tried it. I wanted to. But was trying to discipline myself from consuming so much rice. But hey, I’m Asian. Temptation of rice is in my face, EVERY DAY. They also have sides in a variety of sizes. I personally like their red potatoes salad and their baked beans. Their macaroni salad… eh. I think they put pickle juice in it or something? It tasted sour to me. I love establishments that are across the street (or around) colleges, you always find a great deal. Gosh, I miss that.
The workers here are really really nice! They take phone orders and usually had it ready by the time I got there, depending on if any customers walk in then of course their priority is to serve them first. I get it, but if I called 15 minutes ago, I would hope that it’s ready when I get there. Usually when people call in their lunch it’s ’cause they’re tight on time!
This shop is clean and spacious. Many tables as I assume they make it to accommodate students who want to eat and do their work? A tv and I think they had wifi? I don’t remember. But I DO remember that they are closed on Sundays. Don’t come on Sundays! You’ll be disappointed if you’re looking forward to having a sandwich and it’s closed. Trust me, I’ve had a wah wah wah experience. Oh, and charging your card requires a $ 5 minimum purchase.

Why aren’t they everywhere?

One thing I don like is the strong chemical smell right when you walk in but it goes away after a while. Wish the seating was more comfortable. Keep the watermelon boba coming!!!

I gotta say. I’d probably would give it one star if the girl who took my order wasn’t so nice. I saw 4 stars and expected something pretty good but was disappointed. Despite being nice, we got charged for the wrong sandwich. We waited like 15 mins, which is kinda long since we were the only people there. They finally call us and as we grab our food we double check that they remembered no mayo on one of the sandwiches. The other girl who was making the sandwiches grabs the receipt and holds it in our face and says well I’m sorry, I’m just making them, she didn’t put no mayo. Very rude of her since we told them right when we ordered that we didn’t want it. When she shoved the receipt in our faces we realized she also made the wrong thing but we didn’t wanna deal with her so we just asked to fix the mayo. She has to remake it twice because she put mayo again! We finally leave and make it home to eat and the sandwich is pretty basic… Nothing special. Won’t be going here again.

I had been reading reviews on this place for a while and despite the bad reviews I decided to come in anyways. Came in at 11:30 and there were only 2 customers (but in the same order) in front of me. They waited 5 minutes to get their order taken and after that I another 5(been here for 10 minutes already). As the cashier takes my order I ask for a «Cowboy» sandwich (roast beef with horseradish with Swiss cheese) I ask for it with no veggies and the cashier says it does not include veggies. Total comes out to $ 8.36 for just the large 8 inch. It is now 11:40 it takes me 25 minutes (now 12:05) to receive my order. Come home unwrap my sandwich where it is all just squished together with veggies. As I take the veggies out I’m still optimistic about the food I take my first bight and it is ok. Bread is pretty good, barley taste the horseradish, the meat isn’t all that fresh, lettuce isn’t chopped just torn off in big leaves. What this establishment really lacks is business management. Employees are all over the place trying to make different orders (did see some sandwiches that were made by accident because of being unorganized) Waiting 25 minutes for a sandwich is pretty ridiculous. The prices are pretty average. If you are on a lunch break do not come here you will be late. The only reason why I would return is because the cashier is pretty cute her name is Carmen or something like that but other than that I do not see any reason to return.

Yesterday was my first day at my new job in Cerritos. I needed to find something quick for lunch that wasn’t too far from my office since i’m not all that familiar with the area yet. Rodger’s it was.
This place is connected to a yogurt shop and is pretty clean. Bright colors. Ample seating. When I arrived I was the only one there, although it was about 2:30.
I ordered a small «The Basic» which is a turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I chose white bread. I also ordered a side of the red potato salad. The sandwich, salad, and a drink were less than $ 8. Not bad.
The sandwich was a mess, as you can see from my picture. It just totally fell apart and was difficult to eat. The taste was good when you ate everything together, but the turkey by itself was too salty for me. I did like the cheese used, it was very creamy.
The potato salad was the star, not too heavy on the mayo, with a nice dill flavor to it. I ate about half of that and I will finish the rest today.
I’m not against coming here again, but I don’t see it being my go to place for lunch!

This is a great whole in the wall place just off the 605 and walking distance from cerritos college. They have a 2.99 6′ special. Six inches doesn’t like a lot but they load your sandwich with a lot of meat and salad! They also give you the option of white or wheat bread. All ingredients are fresh and orders come out fast!

I have been craving a good sandwich for awhile now, and these big sandwich chains were not cutting it, found this place through here on Unilocal and after reading a couple of reviews decided to give it a shot, I must say I was impressed, I had the fire roasted garlic chicken sandwich (cold) and it was delicious, place is small but very clean, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to eat a great sandwich at a good price.

First off I went there and was craving corned beef. The lady behind the counter said they were out. She then suggested the pastrami and I went with that. When she put it in the microwave I knew I was in trouble, there is nothing fresh about this place, even subway has a little oven/​toaster. I got home opened the sandwich only to find the bread soaking wet and falling apart, yuck. I got a small potato salad with the sandwich and it tasted funny, so I did not eat it. So IMO I just wasted $ 11.00

Extremely cheap meal with or without check in offer.
Ex: 6 inch turkey sandwich $ 3. Check in offer includes free drink and chips. BOOM cheap meal complete.
CONS:
Bread is too soft, has relatively no flavor
Uses iceberg lettuce. No nutritional value.
Tuna has too much relish

Service is so so. Only 2 people working and though the lady took the person ahead of me’s order, she proceeded to make 6 sandwiches while I just stood there. She didn’t say hi, welcome, give me a second, nothing. IT WAS AWKWARD. The 2^nd lady noticed and took my order at the Yogurt side of the shop. Doesn’t seem to be any organization around here, and though they are slow to take your order, they are speedy when it comes to making your food. I barely sat down and my order was called. If you’re only looking for fast, cheap, and filling this is definitely your place.

Stopped there today… ordered a sub on squaw bread. Fantastic consistency… their sandwiches are superb…
