Strawberry Fair Restaurant

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve been here a couple of times, it hasn’t disappointed me yet. It has a cute strawberry theme, and great service.
The first time I went I ordered the New England Breakfast. It was your basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, and home fries. The bacon was a perfect crisp. The twist is that you can either get toast or some grilled cornbread (my favorite) and it came with homemade strawberry jam. The corn bread was grilled to perfection. The plate also came with baked beans (something I usually hate), but it was delicious. I left full and happy!
The second time I went I ordered the Shepherd’s pie, and I loved it so much I ordered it the third time I went.
One of my favorite brunch places, and I can’t wait to go back!

It is a cute little non chain place, but GrandMa said the Sheperd’s pie was lacking in meat and portion. My grilled chicken sandwich was OK enough, although the bag of Cape Cod Chips was tiny, I was still hungry when I was done.
Service was excellent and easy on the eyes.
So I would like to give a place like this a 4 but it just didn’t get there. I would go back, but not in a hurry.

This place scares the hell out of me. Tons of flammable «decorations» and two hard-​to-​find exits. SCARY!
The food is good, but grossly overpriced.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast! I had homemade cornbeef hash, cooked to perfection. It was served w/​home fries, baked cornbread that’s grilled prior to plating, so it’s warm with a lovely crisp crust. The other two both had eggs Benedict and would also agree. The staff were all attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Known for their breakfast, yes… for anything chicken related, absolutely not. Grilled chicken strawberry salad-​fail, chicken had a fake charcoal taste. chicken salad sandwich– dry and unflavorful.
On a positive note, the friends I went with thoroughly enjoyed their meals, all egg related dishes. I have to laugh because my friend ordered the last pumpkin french toast available for the day… and the boss ate it! She had to reorder, and he never came out to apologize.

A very quaint restuarant. This place gets very crowded. There are a lot of neat nick knacks of strawberries on the walls. The food was very good. If in the area again I will defiantly come back!

I used to be a fan of Strawberry Fair but the last few times we have been the food was not good and the service was terribly slow.

Homemade corn beef hash. Not from a can. Need I say more. It doesn’t get any better than that. It’s a little bit crowded, but the ambiance is cool. It’s been too long since I’ve been here.

Three stars because I adored the grandmas house feel and our waitress was great. But I ordered one of the signature salads with grilled chicken but I couldn’t even cut through the chicken. If I wasn’t in a rush I would have sent it back

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. Any time I’m back home I make it a point to come here. The food is great. Classic New England home style favorites like meat loaf and shepherds pie.
The restaurant itself is adorable. Lots of antiques and cool stuff on the walls.
You should go here. You won’t be disappointed.

Updating my review to five stars. Had a a awesome experience today and would say it all depends on what time of day you dine here. Went at 9am and at such a pleasant experience, great service and awesome breakfast!

Wonderful breakfast!!! Great corn beef hash, cornbread with homemade strawberry jam to die for. Husband had sirloin tips and eggs. Loved them! Big portions. Great service.

First time here in a long time. Used to be a go-​to place, but is 20 min away for me and tough to justify as a last minute breakfast jaunt with two kids.
Despite that, had a good memory of the place and the family took the time to drive down for some homemade fixins.
We were not greeted. In and of itself that’s ok, but then we waited 10-​minutes. It’s a small place but it was about ¹⁄₃ full. The hostess/​owner (I think) materialized and insisted on providing my 4-​year old a booster. We explained she doesn’t use them, but there we were. And then she hit the ground. Ok, upset kid is not insurmountable. Let’s get to the food!
No kids menu anymore. Ok, improvise. Let’s do just a small order or pancakes and side of sausage links. $ 17 somehow? She’s 4. You know the one on the ground? Wasn’t like there was confusion and someone other than the 28-​pounder was going to be doing the consuming.
I had the hash, and wish I didn’t. Wife had a waffle and it was pretty over cooked. Bill $ 50. Lackluster service.
Had a good memory going in…

This place has good food and a cute atmosphere.
My issues are I have that are negative first– are the owners and employees. My husband and I thought about having our wedding party here when it normally would be closed and spoke to owner.
We agreed that IF they could do it, for a hefty sum mind you– she would call us. She also made a comment «jokingly» how she should have said more $$$. Rude.
And, never called us.
My Mother had her credit card run «by accident» 3 extra times– charges being 800 $ right before a vacation.
Took months to sort out.
Honestly, spend your money elsewhere.

I kind of love me some Strawberry Fair!
I went here for dinner and loved the atmosphere so much that I worked here as a waitress for a hot second in the early 00s!
It’s quaint. If you’re the kind of person who likes going to Nana’s for lunch, go here. Order the clam chowder, strawberry salad and ANY dessert. They’re all handmade on site.
Most people are reviewing this place for breakfast, but I always preferred it for lunch and dinner. It’s not exactly cheap and the food isn’t really five star, but the ambiance is part of the price in my opinion. I don’t think I ever ate anything I didn’t like and working there, I tried most things! Thanksgiving Sammie is awesome, too! I think brunch here on the weekends us overrated and crowded as all get out. I’d avoid and do lunch on a weekday!

Oh, Strawberry Fair how I love you so. There is not one other breakfast joint I’ve frequented more than this quaint little place in the middle of Queen Ann’s Corner. After navigating the puzzle that is their parking lot, you duck inside this little house full of all things strawberry (and doily). It’s something straight out of your grandmother’s house.
I’ve gone here many, many times for breakfast and lunch. Hands down, my favorite meal on the menu is probably the New England Breakfast. You get everything: eggs any way you like ‘em, red potato home fries, choice of meat, the sweetest, yet most savory baked beans served in a mason jar, and a thick slice of their homemade cornbread (which comes with most breakfasts). It is worth coming to this place for the cornbread alone. No one makes it like they do. It must be fried in butter or something on the griddle. They also serve it with their homemade strawberry jam. Everything about that jam, the texture, the sweetness, the consistency… Let’s just stop there. Runner up: The Breakfast Casserole (sub the fresh fruit for cornbread)
The service is also great. They make you feel like you’re a regular there no matter how many times you’ve been (or maybe I’ve just been too many times).
You really gotta just check it out for yourself. Trust me, you will not be disapointed.

I came here for breakfast with my mother and fiancé, my mom really wanted to check this place out. The parking lot is so tiny and jammed! If you drive anything other than a smart car, good luck finding a spot, and if you pull in the parking lot is full, also good luck turning around! There’s a sign that tells you not to park anywhere else (aka across the street) because you will get towed!!!
We walked in and the hostess said the wait would be about 20 – 30 minutes…45 minutes later we were seated.
The food was OK. Nothing to write home about. Home-​fries were good, eggs were good, fruit salad was good. Nothing above average for a 45 minute wait. I’d had better breakfast that I’ve cooked myself at home.
The décor is cute, but a bit over the top. You can even buy some of the hand painted jars and such, but they’re expensive!
The building isn’t wide open, it has all these nooks and crannies so when waiting for a table you are moving every 5 minutes because you’re in someone’s way! My fiancé is a big guy (6’3″) and he had NO room to move in this place when it was so crowded!
I know he will never want to go back there. Don’t blame him!

«Make sure you have breakfast at Strawberry Fair. They have great pancakes» proclaimed some acquaintances as I told them of my desire to visit Cape Cod.
It’s pretty difficult to stray from suggestions of those who’ve lived in the area all their lives. Perhaps in the future, I’ll have to just nod and say ‘thanks for the recommendation’, with no actual intent on visiting these spots. My finely tuned palate tends to be more discriminant than my peers.
Arriving at Strawberry Fair was a bit of an obstacle as parking was a major dilemma due to the popularity of this restaurant among locals. The only available parking was found across the street where TJ Maxx is located.
We were greeted hospitably and were seated immediately at one of the few vacant tables.
Our waitress patiently took our order as so many items looked appealing on Strawberry Fair’s breakfast menu. My confusion led me to ask for a recommendation. I mentioned to our waitress that I was a big eater and she recommended I try Maeve’s Monster Pancake. I didn’t think that was going to satisfy my hunger but she asserted that pancake was going to do me in. So… I ordered it with extra crispy bacon and a cup of coffee.
Maeve’s Monster Pancake ($ 9.00 with bacon or sausage): ²⁄₅
For the record, Maeve’s Monster Pancake isn’t so intimidating. It’s only a skillet sized, single pancake that is roughly a half inch in thickness. I’ve been to The Griddle Café in Hollywood, CA many times and have consumed half of an order of their pancakes that come with a triple stack. This pancake was dry and whoever mixed the batter did not mix it enough. Most bites were powdery. And we haven’t even begun discussing those tart strawberries. Finally, asking for crispy bacon only to have slightly rubbery strips served on your plate can leave you a little less elated.
Coffee ($ 2.50): 1.5÷5
If you want to see how good coffee is at any given restaurant, may I suggest you try it black first? It’s best to practice this so you don’t have to rely on additives. This coffee was severely bitter and very harsh. It was so bad that no amount of cream and sugar could not rectify!
When it was all said and done, I did not finish my pancake and left hungry.
So much for friend recommendations.
