I got taken for a ride on a break job. John stretched the truth of what I actually needed. I only busted a high pressure line, but he insisted I needed new front rotors pads and calipers. Foolish and in a bind, I fell for it.
The equip I already had in there was young and high quality.
He used the lowest quality pads. Probably rotors and calipers too.
After the fact, I looked up the cost of parts and noticed he literally doubled the cost of all parts. Also tacked on a hefty shop rate. I get you have to make your money, but did you have to double dip so heavily? I walked away with a $ 700 hole in my pocket.
Only positive in this encounter was that it was completed in a timely manner. I’m guessing because they weren’t busy due to the way they do business.

John and Bumper to Bumper are the best! I had my car at a mechanic for a week before they called me and said they couldn’t do the work, it was a rear control arm that had literally snapped in half.
Well I called John and even though he was busy he said bring it in. I had it towed to him and called within 2 hours later and my car was all done already. Now I wait for the crushing cost and guess what? it was more than half of the cost everyone else had quoted me. I will never go anywhere else again and have already handed out his cards to everyone I work with!

Recommendations is what Unilocal is all about, but not all initial recommendation come via technology. After buying new tires from my favorite mechanic ( Unilocal Master Tech in Walpole), I needed an alignment, which Mike doesn’t do at his shop. He told me to go see John at Bumper To Bumper. Since I love supporting the local guys, and paying a lot less than going to the dealerships or chain shops, off I went to Norwood. As you can tell by my 5 stars, I have plenty to praise here. John has state of the art alignment equipment in his 2 bay shop and had me in and out from my appointment within 30 minutes (vs my last trip to a dealership for a sticker and oil change lasted 2.5 hours!!). John and his crew took the time to explain what they were doing and what they found and fixed — all in plain language that I understood! And he didn’t bust my wallet. Bumper to Bumper can do it all from stem to stem (as the name implies) and John speaks highly of Mike atMaster Tech — which to me speaks highly of the integrity of both shops and their owners!
