Don & Wallys Service Center

Great service, honest and knowledgeable. I have a 1969 Buick Riviera, Joe is the only mechanic who I would trust with my car. He was able to diagnose an almost impossible to find issue I was having this summer. I am sure anyone else would never have found the problem (and fix it). I definitely recommend taking your car here for service (new or old)!

Don and Wally is always my go to auto mechanic after I found them at Unilocal.Professional, affordable, fast service. I can not ask more. They are always busy and parking lot is packed.

Was told by Honda dealer that my Pilot could not be aligned in the rear because the bolts were seized. Wanted to replace the lower control arms for several hundred dollars. Brought the SUV instead to Don and Wallys and they had no problem doing the alignment. I guess they use bigger wrenches!

These guys have been around forever and for good reason. Much cheaper and better than the service you’d receive at a dealership. I always deal with Lacie, who’s very friendly and great at explaining what work will be done on your car.

. Wash D.C.27 years ago but have had many fun visits since, but this visit is different. .my mom is very ill and me and my brother drove up to be with her. made it to MA. When I lost heat and the temperature gauge started to rise, a friend told me about Don & Wallys so I called and Lacie Answered in a very friendly & professional manor, I explained my situation and she said bring it right over that’s when I met Joe her dad the guy in charge that has hands as big and solid as any pro line backer, friendly with the greatest smile, him and lacie and the tech that was going to fix my woes treated me like family, Great price!, Great Service! Great repair! love this place and love these Very professional People that got me on the road and back with my mom

Trust them 100%. They take the time to explain what is wrong with your vehicle. They maintain professionalism and call when they say they will call.
Will only take my daughter’s vehicle there. My vehicle is dealer maintained otherwise it’s go there too.
My only gripe is that they close early on Saturdays so if you really need your car fixed and only have the weekend to drop off and pick up, your out of luck at this gem of a place.

Part of me doesn’t want to Unilocal this place because I want to keep this gem all to myself!!!

Honest, reliable, work costs a smidgen of what I paid at the dealership.
Fixed my teens flat (tire was saved) National Tire Batteryhad said tire was shot because my son had driven down my driveway with the totally flat tire (on the rim)
The only reason I started at NTB was so I could walk to another store to do an errand while waiting. After they said the tire was shot (a 6 month old tire) I headed over to trusty Don and Wally’s and the fixed it in a jiffy.
Incidentally, an old guy came in around 4:30 because of an overheating problem with his car. He was told that they could check it out the next day.
But just to make sure it was safe, the owner ran out to take a quick look because he said ‘I don’t want you getting stuck on the ride home’
Unreal. Not many places left that provide such stellar service.
No fancy waiting room but who cares, would rather have the service and great price.

both this place and Jim’s Automotive Center seem to be very similar in price and quality of work, the old man here can be a bit grumpy at times, and I’ve bumped heads w them before, however i still think it’s a good place to have your car fixed, as its an honest, good shop, good price, good quality of work…

Recently having had my van worked on locally — for the most part disappointed in the lack of knowledge of some mechanics.
I have a Ford E-​150 Cargo Van that had been experiencing a check engine light for some time. I spent a lot of money through another local mechanic, who told me it was one issue after another and couldn’t figure out what was going on.
At that point, he stated that I may have to get rid of the van because he thought the engine was blown and it wouldn’t be worth fixing due to the age of the van.
I started researching online and fortunately found Don & Wally’s Service Center on Rte. 1. I guess with all the Auto dealerships and other local business’ crammed in on Rte 1, I never really noticed them. I decided to give them a try before trading in the van for an newer expensive cargo van. Thank goodness I did! They were straightforward and able to detect the correct issue (fuel injectors) and solve the problem.
I wish I had done my research first. It would have saved me time, money and aggravation.
Without hesitation, I would recommend them to anyone.

Don and Wally’s would get 10 Stars if the ratings went that high. You will receive the absolute best service from this establishment. My family and I have been having our vehicles serviced by this shop for years now. Lacey, her father, and the rest of the wonderful staff are all experts in their craft.
The prices for parts & labor are always fair and honest, communication is transparent and frequent, and it’s all around a friendly and inviting shop to bring your vehicle to. This shop is the sole reason we have three vehicles still running to this day that are in the high 200k mileage.

I’ve been taking my car to Don and Wally’s now for 3 years and I will never EVER go anywhere else. Great service, great prices! Very knowledgeable even with my Saab 95. They always fix the problem the first time. Took my saab to the old dealership because it had an oil leak. They told me $ 2,000 just to change the turbo w/​o labor. Took it to Don and Wally’s and it was a $ 10 part, a simple screw or valve they replaced. That was 2 years ago… no oil leak! Love love love them!

Came here to have the front brake pads/​rotors and brake fluid replaced. My old rotors were really rusted to the hub, but they removed them no problem. They also lubed the caliper pins and everything. I was in/​out in under 2hrs and my brakes work great now!
One issue I had was that they way over torqued the lug nuts… luckily nothing was stripped. Please use a torque wrench!

I’ve been to Don and Wally’s probably four or five times. Every time the service has been relatively quick, prices fair, and they have never tried to «sell» me on additional work. It is so comforting to have a repair shop that you can actually trust.

I’ve been going to Don and Wally’s for several years now. Lacie, the «face» of Don and Wally’s, is great — so is her Dad and the rest of their very knowledgeable staff. I own an older VW Golf so repairs are NEVER fun and can unfortunately get very costly but I completely trust them. Their work is good and pricing fair. I like that they give me options, when available, whereas other mechanics I’ve gone to in the past have not.
I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone in the Norwood area.

Gave me the most straight forward, detailed estimate over the phone out of all the 5 – 6 car shops I called.
Towed my car here cause my brakes’ fluid leaked, the brake lines had rusted.
Lady who works there is super efficient and nice. Answers all your questions and doesn’t mind repeating herself.
Car got fixed in two days, they dropped me off and picked me up.
Pricing was good too– best of all, my brakes are even better than before– solid braking feel.

It is hard to find an auto repair place you can trust, which is the primary reason this place is so great. What I also like is they listen to you instead of already assuming we are all completely incompetent when it comes to cars. They do the work right the first time, get it done quickly, and charge a respectable price, what more could you ask for?

They are speedy, and fair. My car failed inspection there twice, and they were kind enough not to laugh at us trying to get it to pass.
they recommended another awesome place to get our car fixed so it could pass inspection, down the street. And those guys were ALSO honest and saved us about $ 500 from the going rate for the repair by letting us order the part online — really helpful guys!

Over 20 years trusting our cars to Lacey on the front end and her dad, Joe, managing the team in the bays. Fair, honest, skilled work is all they know. Feel free to ask for a ride home. Also a good place to rent a truck and they always have one or two used cars for sale that they have examined and certified.

After trying to have my car photographed three times at Sanborn Glass without success I bit the bullet and went to Don & Wally’s on RT1.
I have nothing against them but try to avoid business on Route 1 in general in favor of those located around the rest on Norwood. I was pleasantly surprised — the service counter folks were cool, even smiled, seemed to enjoy their jobs & customers.
I’m reserving the fifth star until I have worked done there, I will say this they have a full lot with lots of customers.
