The salon has been around for 40 years. salon 599 is about cultivating a personal aesthetic for each and every client. Salon 599 comes to life for the multitude of male and female clients. It’s about giving you a look that you love and everyone else will rave about. Located in Norwood center.

Kara Is the proud Owner of Salon 599! has a passion for the hair and beauty industry. She has been licensed for more than 12 years. In that time she has mastered a wide range of hair techniques including long hair, cutting, and up-​dos. However her specialty and passion is color. She uses a wide range of Keratin, Paul Mitchell and Wella color products.

Kara places high value on listening to her clients, understanding their needs and respecting their hair… and she strives for unlimited creativity! Her number one priority is making her clients feel relaxed and beautiful while they are in her chair.

As a Keratin treatment veteran, I sought out a salon that used the Coppala products. Not only does this salon use the products I love, but the professional job done by Kara is the best I’ve ever had. Well worth the drive from the Cape (there’s always shopping that can be done!), I recommend Kara for ALL your salon needs. The small salon is calm and inviting… and a fabulous rest room with sugar scrub — available for a do it yourself hand treatment — was a bonus. Thank you Kara… for getting this frizzy mess ready for warm weather travels!

So I got a groupin a year or so. Went and saw Kara and loved her. She was very personable and did a good job. I thought I finally found someone I could be loyal to… got another groupon and called Kara to get an appointment. Walked in and she was nowhere to be found. I was told by someone with broken English she was not able to come to work that day. I totally understand things happen, but maybe a phone call to be able to reschedule? Nothing. This woman (I don’t know her name) was so abrasive. I didn’t trust her to do my hair. That was it for me. I wish Kara just called me to let me have the io prion to reschedule. She is good.
Just an update and change in review. This above was a misunderstanding. Upon reading my review Kara reached out and apologized. She had no idea what happened and felt bad. I really am happy because as stated she is WONDERFUL. Thank you Kara. I appreciate you handling it in a professional manner.

I have been trying to call the salon for 2 days. Ever since I had the Keratin done there I have been been covered with a rash on my face, hairline and neck. It started 3 days after the treatment and has continued since. I have been in the hospital for this and for a severe headache /​migraine that comes and goes. You claim to use the Coppola product, but I have done that treatment 3 times before and never had a single side effect. I need to know what you use and why this is happening. No one is answering my calls. Are you even in business?

I had an appointment with Anna using a Groupon. The Groupon was for foil highlights and a haircut, and I called ahead to ask if it would be ok to forgo the haircut and get a few extra foils, which I was told would be fine. When I arrived, Anna immediately tried to talk me into a more expensive Groupon for a root touchup (which I’ve never had before and wasn’t sure I wanted). As I was looking into it (still not decided), she came over with the bowl of bleach and started brushing it onto my roots without further ado. I still thought I was getting highlights, so I was confused. She told me a root touch up would look better and didn’t seem to understand that since I didn’t already have all-​over color (I had fine highlights) that this was going to look mismatched and also cause my hair to grow out much more painfully. She replied that it was ok, I would just come back in 6 weeks.
I ended up getting a haircut as well (since it was part of the root touchup group on). She cut it completely unevenly (I have a couple pieces that are a half inch longer than the rest of my hair). I will not be coming back here.

About a month ago, I was in the area for a wedding and called this salon an hour before I wanted an appointment, asking if they could fit me in. I was told yes, they could get me in. I showed up on time and was mostly ignored by the two stylists who were somehow working on three people (how is that even humanly possible?) and after sitting there for 20 minutes being ignored, I decided to leave. I definitely don’t recommend this place and would never go back there if I was in the area again.

KARA=BEST HAIR STYLIST, EVER! I came here out of the blue (which I’m always skeptical about doing), after I had my hair done else where and disliked the results. She listened to my concerns the first time, and gave me the exact highlight and low light combination that I was looking for! I often change my hair styles depending upon condition of my hair and decided to go very heavy highlights this time… Again, I could not be more satisfied with my results! :) :) :) I will never go else where… No pushy sales pitches, real life woman with high quality products and standards! Thank you for all you do, Kara! Every lady needs a Kara in her life, to help her achieve optimum beauty! :)

This is the worst salon. My FIRST time coming here I had a Groupon. The stylist didn’t bother listening to me or looking at the Groupon, needless to say she conditioned my hair and proceeded to cut it WITHOUT giving me the highlights that I was scheduled for. LOL I decided to give them another try. My Daughter and I both had Groupon coupons for haircuts. Upon entering the salon, NOT ONE PERSON GREETED US. BOTH stylist looked at us and stuck their noses in the air and did their own thing. We waited mortified unknowing what to do as we were not spoken to at all ! We waited about ½ hour and then we left. I was refunded and will NEVER EVER EVER go to this silly salon again. The chances of two strange experiences at the same salon are not a good sign. Don’t waste your time or money!!!

This review is way past due. I got my hair colored about a month ago, and I loved everything about this place. It took Kara about 4.5 hours but she was very patience, the result of that hard work and patience is a hair color/​style that I absolutely LOVE! Recently moved to Norwood and this is going to be my place to go.

Keratin Kara is the best! This is the second time I went to Kara at Salon 599 — in between I went to someone else and the results were mediocre and short– lived. Kara is kind, patient, professional, and her work product is terrific. Everyone keeps asking if i got my color done or a cut as well, but the keratin is so good, it makes all the difference. Give Kara a try, you won’t be sorry.

Kara was so wonderful to work with on my wedding day! My sister had found her online and she did the hair for myself (bride) and bridal party. She was so kind, professional, and talented. I’m very much a perfectionist and Kara did such a great job! She was so easy to work with and adapted to everyone’s preferences easily. I would highly recommend Kara! She was the best and I’m so happy she was part of my big day!

Bought a Groupon and came in for a single process and color. Day before my appointment they call to switch the time, which I couldn’t, so they called back and said they could make it work. Day of I arrived at 9:20 for a 9:30 appointment. At 9:40 the stylist finally showed up. As a professional I expected her to help make a recommendation about a color, which she did now. I asked questions and she had no answer, so I finally picked one. The one star is bc she actually did a good job applying the color, so I thought I would get a good cut. I was WRONG!!! Worst cut of my life, totally uneven and botched. Then I get home and look in the mirror and she never cleaned up the color on my skin and ears, it was so bad I had to re– wash my hair and start all over. A huge waste of time and money!

The experience with Kara on my wedding day could not have been better. Kara was professional and friendly during all of our interactions, and I loved the convenience of her traveling to us on the big day. All the hairstyles were beautiful, and stayed that way all day. I very much enjoyed my time with Kara, who was calm and friendly in the midst of all the busy preparations. I was very glad to find someone so talented to help me prepare for my wedding — anytime that I had a questions she would always respond very quickly back and arrived at the hotel on time. She was also very reasonably priced. I was blown away by my luck at finding her on the internet and the quality of her work. The price that we paid for the quality of service was an amazing deal — in my opinion, there’s no better option! Thanks to her, I felt beautiful on my wedding day, and my new husband thought so, too. I would highly encourage anyone to work with Kara, you will not be disappointed!

I went to Salon 599 to get hair extensions after seeing them advertised on Groupon. Kara (the owner) performed the services — as this was my first time with extensions I did not know what to expect or how much to get. She helped me through the process and the end result was absolutely stunning. The extensions are so light I can not even feel them in my hair. Made from real human hair they look completely natural and need no additional keep up, I do my hair the same was as when it was shorter, wash, dry, flat iron, curl etc. I have received so many compliments from friends, co-​workers who can not believe how natural the extensions look. I don’t even know how I lived without them before — the extensions last for up to 6 months I have had them almost a month now and I see no signs of wear or decrease in appearance. I absolutely will go back to get them put in again. All three of the women working that day, Kara included were so unbelievely friendly and nice, a cozy environment. The highest of recommendations for Salon 599.

I bought a keratin blow out at salon 599. My appt was for 10.4.2013. When I got to my appt Kara told me it would be another $ 25 because my hair was just past my shoulder. This was my red flag, but I proceeded anyway. Wiithin 4 weeks the keratin washed completely out from my hair. When I went to Salli & Roccos, my hair stylist told me I should go back to 599 Salon because the keratin should still be in my hair. I was told the keratin applied could have been a bad batch. My gut told me she made her sale ($ 125) and return customers were of no concern to her. I guess her reputation Is not a concern for her either. She just wants to make a buck. She doesn’t stand behind her product or services. Save your money for a salon that treats you with respect and has a reputation of integrity. I will NEVER give my business to Salon 599 again. What good is a deal when you are getting ripped off?

Poor service! I purchased a groupon for Keratin and made an appt., showed up and the place was closed, was told by the owner a younger employee didn’t «save» the appt. in the computer. Would you believe it happened a second time? Showed up for appt. and was not in computer. Owner Kara tried to blame it on a glitch in the system and Amazon when it was her making the appt. She didn’t even remember this happening a 1st time. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to a Keratin treatment. This salon won’t last long with a poor ethic as this. Never has this happened anywhere else ever. Avoid this salon!
