A dangerous company to hire. Will not take responsibility for their actions. Their ignorance of our CCRs and poor ownership records lead to incorrect information being given to a purchaser of a condo in our HOA. This cost our HOA over $ 10,000 in legal bills as well as many months of defending our CCRs. The judge (in small claims) accepted the testimony of the principle who would not own up to his irresponsible behavior causing the situation that lead to the small claims. The judge accepted testimony based on the incredibly poor records that Wakefield Sharp keeps. Mark admitted to destroying emails in regards to this case. The insurance they cover has an incredibly high deductible. So they will fabricate as necessary to cover their errors, so their practice of bad record keeping protects them from legal injury.
Look at the other comments and remember that a business is only as good as its poorest comment, and all the poor comments say nearly the same thing.
DO NOT hire this company.

They manage our HOA in Novato. When I have called for insurance docs I get them promptly. When we have had maintinance items they have been addressed. On a number if occasions I have spoken directly to the owner and he was very attentive.

This company currently manages the Homeowners Association for my neighborhood. It is truly amazing how unresponsive this company is to the needs of our homeowners, and how downright rude and condescending they are to the people who they have been hired and paid to serve.
I had a similar experience as another reviewer when trying to obtain information regarding the HOA’s insurance carrier. My lender needed documentation, and when I called and asked for a copy of the proof of insurance, they refused to send me a copy. Instead, I was referred to some website link to try and obtain the information on my own.
When the landscaping began to decline in front of my unit, I called them to inform them of my observations. Although the causes were clear to me, as I had sat on my porch and watch the inadequate irrigation and the gophers munching on the plants, they chose to do nothing. Despite multiple attempts on my part to inform them that the landscaping was gradually dying, they continued to disregard my concerns. Instead, they waited until it all died and then took another two years before they agreed to replace the dead plantings. All the while, I continued to pay HOA fees which, in part, pay landscape maintenance fees.
Even after a new landscape plan had been approved, they failed to follow through to ensure the job had been satisfactorily completed. Although I was informed that the landscapers would install new plants and replace a tree during this past fall, they failed to show up until a freeze advisory had been declared. Unsurprisingly, the plants that our HOA members paid for to replace plants that Wakefield Sharp allowed to die are now also dying and will need to be replaced again…
Wakefield Sharp also refused, for over one year, to respond to a complaint that one neighbor was maintaining trash on their back patio and front porch. They insisted they had no means to insist they deal with the trash, despite the fact I had provided them with the exact language and sections of our CC&Rs that stated otherwise. Instead, they waited until animals began strewing the trash all over the common area and the stench so bad that one neighbor finally convinced the City’s building inspector to review the property as public health and a safety concern. This violating neighbor still, to this date, does not have trash pick up service.
Whatever you do, do not allow your HOA to sign a contract with this company and do not move into a neighborhood that is managed by this company. They will gladly accept payment for their services, but have no intention of proving even a minimal level of customer service to address problems whether they are small or serious.
In a nut shell, the worst customer service I have ever encountered.

This company was our HOA’s bookkeeper for years, but we recently ended our relationship. Thank God.
This company has been consistently unhelpful and rude. The lady who runs the company, in particular, is devoid of any sense of customer service. Although we paid them every month, we were treated like annoying Jehovah’s witnesses with every simple billing inquiry.
One time a few years back, my roof was leaking due to the storm. Unable to reach my HOA board for insurance info, I called them. The lady was so rude and refused to help me. All I needed was our insurance company name & policy number. Despite the emergency situation, she abruptly told me to call my HOA board & never to call her cell phone again. Then she just hung up.
Even our Treasurer has had nothing but a bad, unhelpful attitude with them when it came to to simple tasks like preparing monthly checks. It truly seems like wakefield sharp misunderstands who is paying who for a service.
If you ever encounter this company, run the other direction. I’ll be very surprised if this company even lasts through the end of the year with this type of service performance.
