I’ve had some horrible experiences with eyelashes so I can say this is the real deal. It’s truly an art form to get this done right and they nailed it.

Two days ago after work, I decided to give the salon where I normally get my hair cut a chance with coloring my hair. It was a mistake. I asked for baliage highlights and was given foil highlights about an inch from my roots. Sections were botched up and the color was too light for my natural base color. I was not happy with the results.
I got an appointment with Daniela this afternoon for a color correction. She was great at listening to my issues, examining what happened and was clearly able to explain what she could do to fix it. She gave me a fair estimate before she started which luckily got reduced even further after she was able to go through my hair and see what actually needed to be done. She was also very good and communicating the entire time what she was doing, why, what she was going to do next, how long it would take, etc. I really appreciated it, especially after the bad experience I had two days ago elsewhere.
I would have wanted to stay with the lighter color but I think she knew better and went for a darker, cinnamon shade that I think will be for the best. The glaze will lighten over time and I can monitor to determine later if I really do want to go lighter.
She was able to give me what I was looking for, I’m very happy with the results and more importantly, I now have a local colorist whom I can trust — that’s priceless.
Looking forward to continue to work with Daniela on my hair color needs.

I am new to New Jersey and I found this place through groupon. So glad I did! Nicole gave me a great ombré, and the cut is the best I’ve had in years. The girls create a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Nicole is my stylist, and every idea I give her she completely understands and creates it. Fantastic place! Serves wine and mimosas too :)

I went to Fringe last spring with a Groupon for cut and color. Jacqueline gave me the BEST long bob ever. A few months later I used a Groupon for another salon I had to get it trimmed (again, different salon) and she ruined my gorgeous Jacqueline bob. Lesson learned! I spent 8 months growing my hair out and I will be happy to return to Fringe and I am confident that they can fix this mistake.

I bought a $ 55 groupon that was valued at $ 135. What did I get? My roots touched up, and blow dry. Then owner Jackie made me pay an additional $ 35 for the hair cut! (It was just a trim). That $ 55 groupon visit ended up costing me $ 90 and it was just a basic hair appointment. It was NOT WORTH $ 135 !!! Called the owner Jackie the next day to complain about how dishonest that groupon was and all she offered was an «I’m sorry. Come back for a deep conditioning». Are you kidding me? That is the type of salon that will give me a free deep conditioning then CHARGE for the blow dry. No thanks. Fringe is just another rip off salon!

Service is flawless. This is an experienced salon with a myriad of experienced hair stylists full of knowledge in latest hair trends. My family and friends come here and have had such wonderful experiences.
I get my hair done by owner Jacquelene who is outstanding and always knows what is best for me. Whether I come in with an idea of what I would like, I am always driven to leave it up to her and she is always making me look amazing !
I enjoy coming here especially after a long day at work because I can truly relax, have a couple of laughs and enjoy the Fringe experience :)

I purchased a Groupon for haircut and blowout and it was totally worth it. I will definitely be back. My stylist was Danielle, she was very nice, personable and did a great job on my hair. She also offered me mimosa, wine, or coffee when I came in which was nice. The salon itself is chic and trendy. Very happy with their services.

I’ve been going to Fringe for awhile now after first getting a Groupon deal. I have never had a bad cut or color. Actually the reverse — have always loved my results there. The staff is friendly, courteous and always makes me feel welcome. I drive from Woodbridge to Nutley for my appts so that has to tell you something!

Purchased a deal for a cut, single process color and style and was not disappointed. Daniela did an amazing job and she did every step of the appointment from washing, mixing color and blow out. The salon was empty when I came in and they were attentive to get me started right away. Was offered wine and accepted it gratefully! The color came out perfect! Cut was a simple trim of what I had and the blow out was excellent.
Salon is bright and clean with nice basic décor. Regular pricing for these services is reasonable. I would come back. Daniela also gave me her card and $ 20 off of $ 75 worth of services.
I would absolutely recommend this salon and stylist Daniela to my friends!

Love this salon! Seriously I never committed myself to a salon or stylist. I bounced around and used groupons to get haircuts and color, I found this place with a groupon and it is AMAZING! Jacqueline the owner is a fabulous stylist and seriously the sweetest person ever. She treats you like a friend and gives an honest consultation, she never pushes you and makes you feel obligated. The salon itself is warm and trendy. I now at the age of 32 have finally found a salon/​stylist and will never go back to salon hopping!

I purchased a voucher for haircut, full hi lights and a glaze. When I made my appointment with Noël, I explained that I have short hair and that the person that cuts my hair should know how to cut short hair into trendy cuts. So I get to the salon and Daniela brings me over and says that she will do my hi lights and that Mary would cut my hair. I told Daniela that the winter was here and that I wanted warm hi lights and that because I have thin hair the hi lights need to be very thin. My hair is 2 times lighter than when I got there. Then Mary takes over and starts cutting my hair now I’m 48 but I do not like to have old fashioned cuts or blow drys. This is exactly what happened, hair was flipped up in the back and was not what I wanted at all. There were no finishing sprays or product. My experience was not a good one.

I purchased a voucher deal and thought it was so worth it. I ventured in on a tuesday. Daniela was my stylist and she did a great job with my full highlights and haircut. She was sweet and talented. She even served me a mimosa. The salon décor is modern chic, and clean. Im not sure why people have had such a bad experience, maybe it’s their bad attitude. As for myself, I will be back paying their reasonable prices. Unilocal reviews are to be taken with a grain of salt. Unilocal will filter good reviews and keep the negative. Smh. Dont let them deter you. Go ttothe salon and ask for Daniela.

I had a groupon for a haircut and conditioning treatment, and it was a great deal. I really enjoyed my salon experience. They offered coffee and desserts and were all very sweet. My stylist was Julie and she did a wonderful job. She was a perfectionist which is a great trait b/​c she didnt rush through my hair cut. She took her time and did a wonderful job!

I went to Fringe because I received a certificate for a free haircut. The experience was terrible !!! the girls did not pay attention to their customers but rather to each other.
Ashley was more concerned about speaking to the other girls and the guy that was talking to her instead of paying attention to cutting my hair. I hated the way it came out and she never reassured me throughout the cut what she was doing.
I felt completely ignored like I was disutrbing her and was totally upset about my hair when I left. The place was unprofessional and does not cater to their clients nor do they make their clients feel confident or special.

I received a call the morning of my appointment to cancel because the stylist was not coming in. I thought this was unnacceptable and pleaded with them to fit me in which they did. The stylist Joann who came in early was nice. I told her i wanted some red color mixed with my brown. She did no consultation and I know I have eyes and can make a decision but it came out awful. The color is not even. The top is red and the bottom is my natural color. She let the ASSISTANT do most of the work. This was for a Groupon so maybe they didnt care that much. I was truly dissapointed since I live so close and just looking for a decent place to call home. Now I have to find some place else to go to get my color fixed before my birthday :-(

After the owner contacted me I went in so she could fix my hair. She really did an amazing job and was very nice. I am glad I got to give them a second chance! Thanks so much. You are very knowledgeable and you do great work. I understand the salon was trying to be accommodating and i can be difficult. In the end all worked out! :-)

I’ve gone to Fringe a handful of times. I get my gel manicures done by Nicole and she does a great job. She’s always down to try new things on my nails and never tries to charge me extra. They always have an assortment of treats to eat and offer you coffee/​tea/​water as soon as you walk in. I’ve never gotten any of the other services, but it’s definitely a great place to get a gel mani.

Not a bad place. I bought a groupon for two gel manicures for 29 bucks, which is a great deal since the cheapest I’ve seen a gel is 25. For some odd reason, both times i called to confirm my appointment and both times they couldn’t find it. The first time they had a different name listed, and the second time they couldn’t find me at all. So definitely confirm before going in. I’m not sure if its their policy to confirm appointments like some salons.
The first time I was helped by an older lady and she was absolutely lovely. She chatted with me the whole time, answered all my questions and was really nice. The second time I came was a different girl who didn’t do any talking (and also broke one of my nails while filing them, glad I was getting short nails either way –_​-​) she was also really rough while cleaning the nail. Sheesh I get manicures regularly, no need to hack away. It’s okay, I don’t think I’d come back because i don’t live in the area and its pretty pricey.

I went here on a Living Social deal– $ 59 for a shampoo, condition, hair cut, single process color and blowout plus a manicure and eyebrow wax. I had purchased the deal in August when I needed it for an upcoming wedding and when I was still looking for a permanent salon in this area. But they were too booked up at that time to take me in so I just went last week to pamper myself before my birthday.
The salon is easy to miss when driving by so keep an eye out for it. They don’t have a parking lot of their own and they’re next to an out of business gas station on the corner. Later I was told by the stylist that they park their cars there and it’s ok for clients to do so also. There’s also an auto body shop on the other side of them with a huge parking lot and it’s ok to park there as well. The interior of the salon is small but it’s decorated in warm colors and looks like what you would expect from a hair salon.
There is something about most hair salons that feels like a sorority to me. This is perhaps the reason I had such a hard time finding a good salon in North Jersey.
Some examples of what I mean:
*An old woman needed water for her tea. Granted, the way she asked the stylist for it by simply grunting «water» was pretty funny and kind of rude. But the way the stylist and all her fellow colleagues rolled their eyes at her behind her back and continued to make fun of her long after the incident was over was unprofessional. After all, if you’re talking about her like that who’s to say you’re not talking about me like that after I leave? None of the stylists were overly interested in chatting up their clients either, which can make for a dull experience.
*As I sat with my nails under the dryer facing the back wall, the door to the stockroom/​break room was open and a bunch of stylists were in there eating, BSing and coloring each others hair. Nothing wrong with any of that, but keep the door closed. It looks unprofessional and it’s not something the clients need to see.
*All of the stylists were running around the salon the entire time I was there with foil in their hair, checking each others color. In between painting my nails and waxing my eyebrows, one stylist got on her cell phone (in the middle of the salon) and starting talking to who I assume was her boyfriend about how she just had to finish waxing a client and then she’d be leaving. That kind of conversation is best saved for the break room or outside the salon. Now I feel like you can’t wait to get me out of here. This would have annoyed me more if I wasn’t there on an amazing package deal.
My overall experience here wasn’t bad but I probably wouldn’t make this my regular salon because of little things like I described above. If I’m going to pay an exorbitant amount of money to get pampered, everyone around me should be acting professionally and grateful that I’ve chosen this salon over all others to spend my time and money– at least that’s how I look at it.
Actual results:
Shampoo/​Condition/​Haircut/​Color/​Blowout– I’d give 3 stars. Nothing stellar but nothing to complain about either.
Nails– 4 stars. Maybe it’s because I sat under the nail dryer for an unusually long time but I’m going on day 4 and my manicure still has minimal chipping.
Eyebrows– 3 stars. She did a nice job shaping them but I had to do some follow up plucking of stray hairs the next day.
