Once again the food is spot on. Came today and was served by Denise. They were a little busy cleaning up from the morning rush which I appreciate. The place is clean, bathrooms are clean and the food is awesome

I’ve been here a few times and it’s nothing special. I can see how people continue going because it’s better than the other breakfast places in Nutley, but food isn’t that great. Everything I’ve gotten is super oily and the pancakes are hard and tasteless. Service is kinda slow, but friendly. The plus side is that they have a decent menu selection so there’s a lot to choose from. Maybe I didn’t pick the right choices, but there’s better food elsewhere if you’re willing to drive 10 – 15 minutes. in my opinion

I have been wanting to check out this place for some time. Today was that day and I will shout from the top of my lungs to say I truly enjoyed my breakfast. I am always hunting for a place who can provide a larger sausage link and this place delivers. With 2 eggs over easy, home fries and Pancakes which were delicious and doesn’t it sound simple… Yes but many restaurants who serve breakfast can’t seem to provide a really satisfying meal like Pancake Palace did… 2MEALS for $ 16.95 was affordable for even the most frugal of people. 4 stars ONLY because its my first time there and I want to make sure it was not simply by luck that their food and service by the lovely Deana(pronounced like Dee-na) was not by luck of the food gods. So on my next couple of visits, YES I intend to go back more often to see if they solidify themselves in a 5STARHEAVEN!!! Until then my fellow Unilocalers, Happy Unilocaling!!!

Customer Service: F Atmosphere: F Food: B– We arrived around 1:30PM when the signs say they close at 3PM. By 2PM, all the outdoor signs were taken down, the neon«Open» sign was turned off, the music was turned off, and they were mopping and sweeping under the tables surrounding the customers. The waitress was initially prompt in taking our drink orders and bringing the drinks, but then she took forever to return for our orders despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She also seemed angry at us for simply being there. The food arrived without delay, but was average at best. The waitress also took forever to refill my sister’s coffee. Only a few minutes after we started eating(approximately 2PM), the waitress brought the totaled check, effectively dismissing us. When we paid, we asked the manager/owner/host what time they closed, and he said 3PM but that they«run out the door» at 2:30PM if no one is there. Well, with service and an attitude like that, I’m sure they’ll be running out the door a lot more in the future — hopefully, for a last time so a decent breakfast restaurant can move in.

I am shocked to see negative reviews here, we love Pancake Palace! It’s so nice to have a place like this right in Nutley. To be fair, I have only ever gotten one thing here. But I’ve had it a dozen times! I always get the stuffed French toast with sweet cream. It is their hidden gem. I’ll admit that sometimes it’s better than others, but always good. Their home fries are just okay-a little dry for my taste. My boyfriend loves their Italian sausage breakfast. Two big meaty links– and he is picky about his meat! His eggs are always cooked perfectly, too. A big pet peeve of ours. To be honest the wait staff has always been great. We get seated right away every single time, and served coffee and water almost immediately. They are not overbearing or waiting on you hand and foot(maybe the people complaining like that?) but we have never had a problem or not been able to get their attention. Simple but good food, and my boyfriend and I always feast but never spend more than $ 25. Great place!

I have never written a review on any restaurant but this needed to be heard. I went to Pancake Palace on Father’s day with my husband, children and parents. There was quite a bit of a wait due to the holiday. I never have a problem waiting. The man taking our name made it a point to let us know that it would be «at least 20 minutes». He looked clearly out of his comfort zone and very stressed by the volume of people waiting. He seemed short tempered and kept over estimating the wait time. When our name was finally called he then made it a point to tell me that it would take«at least another 25 minutes for the food as the kitchen was backed up». I felt like a real inconve inconvenience to him wanting to eat there and we eventually decided to leave. I am no stranger to waiting for a breakfast table on a Sunday morning, i have never experienced such rude and unprofessional bevavior from what seemed to be the management. Although it is unfortunate that i am unable to review the food, i can tell you, you can find pancakes anywhere and most likely with a much more welcoming attitude and most importantly a smile.

Excellent food. The parking is metered on the street and limited. One big negative for me is the tables are very close together and if they are busy I would not enjoy my visit no matter how good it is.

First let me say one of the ladies working there was very sweet to us as soon as we walked in! We wanted a nice breakfast with some pancakes and eggs and we left completely satisfied! I had The Nutley & my boyfriend had one of the pancake sandwiches with the eggs etc. stuffed inside and was something different from any other places we been to! We will def be returning because of the service and quality of food!

Had eggs Benedict & the eggs were overcooked. Potatoes were dry too. Definitely a lot better places to eat. One good thing is very friendly service.

Decent breakfast spot. This is the type of place where there are a lot of regulars so you sometimes feel like you’re interrupting something if you don’t eat there often. Outside of that, the staff is generally friendly, the coffee is just okay, and the stuffed French toast is good.

Wow! I just love coming in here every Sunday morning. It’s just great food. I actually found this place after trying to go to Ihop and finding two locations completely full. I was Unilocaling and found a review of someone stating that they had found it after trying to go out to Ihop as well and saying this was a gem. And they were not wrong. It truly is! My mom came over to visit from PR and loved it as well. For starters your coffee cup is never empty, it includes refills and it is a delicious blend. The eggs are cooked just the way you like it, the servings are huge, the prices are just perfect, they have great customer service making you feel like a local and they have a huge variety of waffles, french toast and pancakes, hence the name. I definitely recommend it!

Definitely didn’t enjoy my pancakes and I am a big pancake lover! First the service sucks, second they take FOREVER. I wasn’t sure if the table next to mine got their food first because they were the same race as the waiters, because it was only me and my friend which where there before them and they were basically a family of 5. Maybe they ordered before they got there?! Who knows, I don’t like playing the race card, but in this town. You kinda have to sometimes. Won’t ever return.

Came here for breakfast with girlfriends and the pancake palace was more like a pantry than a palace. The waffles were very tiny, there are no combination platters, which causes an extra charge for everything, and on top of that, they gave us our bill on notebook paper. If I could give them no stars I would. I paid $ 18 for one waffle, one egg, and three sausage links. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you’re not of the same skin/race/color(as theirs), and it’s on a Sunday, or it’s simply crowded… then expect the nastiest service! I just moved to the east, and this experience made me realize that racism and discrimination is strongly alive here. I gave 1-star rating only because Unilocal does not allow no-star or negative-stars.

It’s been four years since I’ve been here, and it’s gotten better. The omelette I had gotten was a bacon avocado concoction that surprised me with flavor. The coffee was fine, the service was solid. I wasn’t crazy about the bland home fries, but they probably cook to a more common denominator. I still would have liked more coffee throughout the meal, but the ban is lifted. This place is a go for our business. –#

Can’t believe I just found this place after being the area for 10 years :) Homey breakfast place… loved that they had the cheesy Christmas cups for coffee… could definitely see this place as my regular breakfast place. Being in jersey, home of diners… it’s nice to see a regular breakfast place with a creative chef that uses the basics to create yummilious breakfasts like capt crunch french toast???

We found this place on a whim when we tried going to IHOP on a Sunday morning and well you know how that goes. I have to say it’s a cute hole in the wall place but still a decent number of tables. It wasn’t too busy when we got there so we were able to be sat right away. The menu– wow you can pretty much get any type of pancake or waffle you want. Pigs in a blanket pancakes– check. Hawaiian– check. As well as everything in between. The waitress suggested the Hershey pancake sliders so I got that with strawberries and it was delicious! The service is a little slow so come planning to sit back and enjoy your coffee and wait for your delicious pancakes or waffles or breakfast sandwich or omelet or whatever delicious food you order!
