I’v been to Dr. Pastena’s office twice and never saw the doctor! His nurse practitioner saw me both times. First time, misdiagnosing me with pneumonia, second — insisting that I suffer from allergies and prescribing antibiotic. Funny thing, when I came the nurse asked me questions clearly mistaken me for someone else. The office is disorganized but I can go around it if only the stuff was knowledgeable. Never go back!

I’ve been searching for a local Dr. for years! My sister’s friend recommended me to Dr. Pastena. She’s been coming to him for ages, she has 3 boys, the oldest are in college already and they’ve been coming to him since they were children. Matter of fact she still sees him and she lives 45 min away. Why? Because he’s a GREATDR! I also love his assistant Dr. The staff is friendly and pretty professional. Are they perfect? No, of course not, but as many offices as I’ve been too, they are AWESOME. So happy I found them!

I’ve been seeing dr pastena for the past several years. In all of those years I have only seen the doctor about twice, typically it is the PA doing all of the work and she is great. If this review was just for her I’d give her 5 stars. Consistently long waits even when it is not crowded, expect to wait and hour to see a PA for about 10 minutes. What is the point of an appointment? Office staff is hit or miss depending on who picks up the phone. I’ve had them forget to call in rx refills for me before and had to follow up several times. Not very helpful. Overall I would not recommend. Once I have the chance I will be switching my primary care to elsewhere.

I have had similar problems with the office staff, as the other reviewers mentioned. When I came the first time, it was for a physical. I scheduled the appointment and when I arrived the physician’s assistant asked what I was here for. When I said I was there for a physical she was totally perplexed. It turns out I was supposed to get blood work done first(it was never mentioned to me when I scheduled) and also the physical takes longer than a regular appointment and she didn’t really have time for it. On another occasion, someone in the office accidentally swapped my file with someone else who had the same last name as mine. So unprofessional, and a huge violation of privacy! The wait times can also be very long, I’d say 15 minutes is typical but I’ve waited 45 minutes to an hour on some occasions. I’ve only met Dr. Pastena once. He was okay. He seemed knowledgeable but uninterested and kind of rushed. I usually deal with the physicians assistants here who are consistently awesome. They spend a lot of time, act professionally, address your concerns, and are just really nice. I’ve seen a few of the different PAs that have worked here and have never been disappointed with them.

Oh the power of a review when you piss people off… I called a week ago and made an appt. and specifically told the receptionist I was coming in for vaccinations for travel to South America. I went today for my appt and when checking in told the girl I wanted to check that it wouldn’t be an issue to get a certification proving I got the Yellow fever vaccine since it was required for my Brazilian visa. She replies«Oh we don’t stock that vaccine» OK, what about Typhoid? «Nope» But I told you I needed vaccines for travel to South America«No you said travel» Either way if you don’t stock«travel» vaccine’s should you have asked? «Uh Uh» Give me back my insurance card. My review is not on the doctor I guess, but I also believe its the doctor’s responsibility that his office runs properly. Thank god I didn’t wait until I got in and paid my co-pay or I would have been even more royally pissed off they wasted my time. My advice to the doctor — hire some people with a speck of a brain in your office so you don’t lose patients before they even see you!
