Recently in Nyack for a comedy show and stumbled upon this hidden jewel. Initial view looks like a house but once you walk inside its a very nice, amazing open spot with hot music not the typical gay bar music. Barz has this really cool full bar with the amazing Andrew behind the bar who makes good drinks. After getting your cocktail head back to the open patio to meet some really cool and friendly people. We maybe made 10 new friends during this visit and we’ll definitely be back. After hanging out at the patio go inside and get wild on the dance floor and again the music is AMAZING! If you’re a competitive person, grab a game of pool at one of their 2 pool tables. Overall, this is a really chill, awesome & amazing location if you’re in the area. This is definitely a hidden jewel with some very chill people, check it out.

Small town gay bars are all good in my book. Props to the owners and patrons for keeping a gay oasis alive in an otherwise desert of gay nightlife! Had a fun night there!

PLEASESUPPORTTHEONLYGAYBARINNYACK :-) The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it’s not easy to walk to/from when bar-crawling in the ‘Yack. It’s very sad that such an open-minded town like Nyack has hardly any gay bars/clubs or at least a gay-night at one of the NUMEROUS regular bars in town. That being said, although its away from the main drag, pretty much all by its lonesome up on the hill, Barz has as much potential for a fantabulous night on the town as any of the others on main st. I’ve been a few times and each time I shake my head and say to myself«why don’t I come here more often???» They have good drinks/prices, nice staff, dance floor, fun music, occasional shows(drag, etc.) pool tables, and a cute little smoking area out back with chairs & tables(instead of being shoved into the sidewalk crowd to have a cig like you do on main st) So, as I write this review, I’m realizing just how much more I want to continue to support this local venue. It’s the only(as far as I have found) gay /lesbian spot to go in rockland without having to cross the tz bridge, drive to nyc or over to feathers in ct. Yay for Barz! :-)
