Paninis and sandwiches are pre made. I get that. I don’t get why I can’t add cheese or a spread to one still. Just open it up and put the slice of cheese on. Nope. That’s impossible.

Several negative experiences. Eggshell in an egg salad wrap, stale cupcakes, and ordered a yogurt smoothie but she took the yogurt out and it was moldy, they didn’t have any more. I know it’s good they didn’t give it to me, but grossed me out that they have moldy stuff in their fridge. I have had a couple good pastries there.

This is a cycling Mecca. You will meet cyclists from all over the world stopping by for a panini, scone, cookie, oatmeal, coffee etc. The food is really good and quick to get in and out. Great place to sit outside and people watch. There is a water bowl outside for your dog.

Cute little spot but honestly, my latte and pastry were awful. The espresso was stale and the milk seemed to be skim(aka water). The croissant muffin hybrid pastry I had was tough and dry. I’ve heard this place has a legacy in Nyack, but they need to reevaluate their product.

This place is top notch. Everything is made on premises. The muffins are simply outstanding. They also offer a variety of sandwiches and salads for lunch. No surprise that the bike riders make this one of their prime stop off places

Good scones. Decent coffee. Not so crazy about the $ 10 credit card minimum… they do realize that many people prefer to use credit/debit cards at coffee shops/bakeries, right? No ATM either. *womp womp* Overall, still a good food experience. Ill be back.

I have been here a couple times when I ride to Nyack, this place has really good pastries and muffins, coffee is good but the lines are always long and the service is slow.

Great little bakery/café. They have half sandwiches and wraps if you just want a little to eat. They have a good assortment of pastries and sweets as well. Bike parking outside is a nice touch.

Enjoy coming here for a latte and a bakery treat in the afternoon. It is very spacious inside with plenty of seating and natural sunlight. They have the local paper and magazines for you to enjoy as you sip/eat away. The muffins are always fresh– which is what I usually get. The staff is friendly. There is a $ 10 minimum to use a credit card. Although I haven’t eaten lunch here before, the menu is pretty extensive.

Meh. Very underwhelming. 1130 in the morning on a Sunday, and they’re running out of things. Biscuits and scones are rock hard. Staff looked like they didn’t want to be there Very cold environment. Removed artwork that used to be there. Need music or something to make it more inviting. Picture of blueberry muffin says it all. One bloody blueberry in it Two stars are for the cinnamon rolls only. They’re that good.

Meh — they live off the fact that they have bikers like me stop by here since they have proper bicycle parking– and lots of bikers to chat with. Service is basically non existent, dont be surprised if it takes 15 mins for an egg and bacon sandwich. Credit card minimum is $ 10 — and they wouldn’t let me pay $ 9.56 with a card… just great customer services. There are much better places — and without the cycling community this place would have shut down years ago

This bakery has been around for years and it is always busy on the weekends. My sister and I stopped in for something sweet. It was ok. Not sure I would waste the calories again. Their sandwiches look really good. They have a huge variety. Maybe it was what I ordered. The cupcake was too cold didn’t taste fresh. Maybe they should keep them out. Don’t get me wrong I are the whole thing but for the calories it should have been fresher.

I only make my way to the Nyack area about once a year, and when I do I always make a point to stop by Runcible Spoon. Their muffins are seriously out of this world, meaning they’re amazing enough for me to «forget» that I tend to stick to a gluten and grain-free diet. My recommendation? Grab a blueberry peach or apple crumb muffin and enjoy a nice walk by the waterfront.

Great spot to stop if you’re cycling. Coffee, baked goods, healthy snacks, and even half sandwiches will help refuel you without weighing you down. There are racks outside to park your bike and a water cooler to refill your bottle(on the weekends). Prices do seem a tad high, but I suppose its a convenience fee.

As a Nyack local, Runcible Spoon bugs the shit out of me. Cyclists take over the town, the majority of them stopping here, and I’d say a good 50% are complete d-bags. SO… my review will be multi-faceted. Cyclists — Come here. You’ll love it. You’ll be among your kind and they serve hot coffee and great bakery items. Locals — Come here. But only early on the weekend(before 9:30am) or on weekdays. The serve hot coffee and great bakery items. If you do not heed my visiting time advice you will completely hate this place. Whoever you are — Order the Broadway omelette, with egg whites, and add avocado. It’ll run you $ 13(surcharge for the avocado) but it’s well worth it. The potatoes that come on the side are some of the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. Cheers, RS… You got me there despite my aversion to dealing with aggressive cyclists on a beautiful autumn Sunday morning. And I didn’t regret it.

«The Spoon» is a bakery in Nyack that is a mainstay for all NYC cyclists. Given it is about 25 miles from Manhattan, it is perfect spot for a break, whether as the halfway point for a shorter ride or just a break point for a longer ride. I head to the spoon almost once a week on my Sunday rides. They serve soups, pre-made sandwiches, made to order paninis, as well as all the various cupcakes, cookies, muffins, brownies, etc. Their baked goods are excellent, especially the morning muffin, which is croissant ingredients poured into a muffin tray and cooked to fluffy, flaky goodness, with sugar sprinkled on top. Decadence. If you want healthy, they also have energy bars and fruit salads. The staff is really nice here. They even put out bike racks out front for their customers to park their bikes. A very nice touch.

This is a great bakery with plenty of options. This is a place that is frequented by many cyclists, myself included. They even put out water outside for us. They have all kinds of half sandwiches and tasty paninis as well as many different kinds of pastries. I had their blueberry scone which was excellent. It’s not the typical scone as it is more shaped like a cookie. Their morning signature muffin is also pretty good. It reminded me of a croissant with the layers of dough with a sugar/cinnamon coating.

As a cyclist i’m a big fan of «the spoon» as cyclists call it. It’s a great spot in Nyack on training rides where you can relax and have a cup of coffee, eat some lunch, and chat away with other bikers on the bikes parked out front with the provided bike racks. A huge plus. Great service, fresh muffins and croissants. It’s great that they offer sandwiches and wraps at half portions. Perfect for a training ride so that you are not overstuffed. I always go for the brie, turkey, cranberry wrap, a arnold palmer, and if in season a pumpkin apple crumb muffin. Moist on the inside and a crunchy top. Definitely taste the pumpkin and spices. Feels like Autumn when i bite into one. The croissants are fluffy and flakey with the layering that a croissnat should have. It’s great as well that they offer containers of water outside as well for us to refill our bike bottles. It’s a great local neighborhood spot as well as i see many locals stop by in the morning for breakfast, baked, goods and coffee. They serve up full breakfasts as well as my friend had a omelette and potato fries. It looked great and cooked superb. I’m going to order this next time i’m there.

As my September 2010 review noted I am a cyclist and this review is solely from that perspective. And true to the aforementioned review, without the singular focus of a cyclist, Runcible would be a four star establishment. Half-sandwiches are perfect for cyclists, though I have no problem taking down an entire pannini! Lots of different options between their endless toppings and many varities of bread(or no bread: have a salad!). Tons of sweet things and they are all divine. Espresso, coffee and that stuff. Very friendly staff. Cyclists are encouraged to come by the outside bike racks, normally packed on a nice weekend. Free water in big coolers outside!
