I like the food, their salad bar has a nice selection and always looks fresh. Good protein, starch, and vegetable selection. Decent price, military discount, no coke products… pepsi ok… Nice dessert area as well. There are a lot of Asian style buffets which I also love around the area, but Golden Corral I believe is one of the few Americana buffets around… might be the only one id you remove the various pizza buffets, manage your expectations give this place a shot(staff for the most part is friendly, you always have that 10%), I’ve eaten at less than optimal surrounding(MREs in the field… free food is still good food), and really fancy($ 100+ per person) places, it’s all relative. I like it for what it is.

Food was just okay. Most tables were dirty but my biggest complaint was there was a female server taking care of an entire side of the restaurant, 29 tables, I counted. The female manager came out while the server was running around trying to keep up and told her to go in back«need more plates» for the buffet. Why didn’t she just get them or have someone else do it. The server was overwhelmed, this server was already unable to care for the customers she had ! This was on 4÷2÷2015. Take care of your workers and your restaurant will be better, customers see this. I vow not to return I have had cold food on the buffet also. I only go if family requests but probably will not go back.

Ok. well if you are looking for zombie drooling people wondering aimlessly then this is the place for you. The service was excellent though very friendly. The food however well.. you get what u pay for. Place was clean and the selection wasn’t half bad really.

Went on Saturday Aug 23, 2014. They are a little higher price than the other. First tray wasn’t wiped down thoroughly, second was slightly damp. Second. They didn’t have shredded lettuce for tacos. Husband prefers that to eat with salad. Third the waitress was working quite a few tables, where there was another waitress who was waiting very few tables and was barely doing that. Now recall this was a Saturday night, so it was quite busy. We even asked if our waitress if they were over worked and she stated just me. The lady who was waiting on us was so overwhelmed that she ended up quitting. My husband mentioned that the one lady wasn’t doing anything and the other was over worked, she basically said that the just started at 5 pm. Granted people might have less tables if they worked longer, however the difference in amount of tables were greatly different and she basically was dismissive of my husband. Since she walked off. Oh and the person who was supposed to take over her tables never got us anything else to drink. So I had to drink from my husband’s glass. We will never go back to this location. Been to plenty across the nation, some are good and some aren’t, and this was the worse as for customer service.

I guess coming from Vegas buffets are around every corner. It’s a pretty standard place and you get what you pay for, which was food poisoning. All you can eat… okay, but hot lamps and dirty facilities is a fail, not to mention I watched some kid repeatedly grab food with his hand. My family and I left after that, we would’ve left sooner but we were stuck to the floor.

I’m trying to figure out what«foodies» are expecting when they come to places like these. For the person who just came off the interstate after driving 500 miles in one day, this place is like HEAVEN. For someone who’s looking for a date restaurant or for authentic cuisine(of some variety) look elsewhere, obviously. In comparing this one to other buffets on the same«level,» I rank this one pretty highly. I have eaten at pretty shady golden corrals in the past, but I have to say that this one has all the essentials: well-balanced, nutritious options, cleanliness, and friendly service. I wasn’t looking for an overpriced meal for the trained palate. Give me a break. It’s Golden Corral. BUT, it’s a GOOD Golden Corral. And after a day of driving on the interstate, I truly feel replenished.

This is one of the best buffets I’ve seen. The food is fresh, tasty, and there’s a nice selection. This location, in Shiloh, IL is clean and welcoming. My son and grandson eat here often; my husband and I are enjoying the Senior ‘specials’.

For what it is, they do a pretty good job here. Let’s face it, we go to GC because we don’t know what we want to eat or we have a crowd of people to feed and everyone wants something different. I mean, where else are you going to get Brussel sprouts??? GC makes it easy. Overall, the food is decent. Sure, there are some hits and misses along the way, but you’ll find that anywhere. What I will say is that not all GC are created(or managed) equal, so quality can vary from store to store. I happen to like this one. I’ve not liked others. Things I like here: fried chicken, steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, fried fish Things I should avoid(sometimes I forget): the fried okra(come on GC, you have to get this right), the meatloaf(sure, you saw that one coming) the taco meat. Basically anything that you think might not go over well on a buffet, probably didn’t; therefore you shouldn’t. The desserts are great, go nuts! Plan on not doing anything for at least 4 hours afterwards, you’ll likely be in a food coma.

Took my dad out for his birthday. he chose golden corral. It is a buffet. It is no different than any other Golden Corral except for 2 items. The people care. It is kept cleaner than a lot of places I have eaten. They are very polite here as well as helpful. The second point of differentiation is that some items are good. The hot wings this evening would compete with hooters. And gc is a lot cheaper than hooters. Also I enjoy the seafood salad, salad bar, and sometimes the seafood. It is not always consistent. My children like the dessert bar. I think it kinda depends on the day you go though. Also, I have never tried the breakfast.

Standard chain buffet. The salad in the salad bar did seem fresh and the«new» wings were pretty good, if a little cold.

All I have to say is this is the most mediocre place I have ever been to. Those of you that just love Golden Corral I have no idea why? Seriously $ 8.29 for a breakfast buffet of the same thing on three sides… not much variety. I do like that they make omelets. Everything just tastes like it was from yesterday and has just been sitting there forever. I will continue only to come here if it is ever free… like veterans day… you can count me out… its not worth anything more than a $ 4.99 buffet to me!

I visited on a club gathering and it was my first and last time I will visit. Everything tasted like butter and found it to be below food tasting standards. I suppose if you want food at a cheap price and like butter then this is your place!

Ugh, gross. And I’m crackin up over Ryan W’s comment on «maybe this will be good» and then you’re crying in a corner cause that just about sums it up. Lol
