I have been to JJ’s twice. It may not seem like a lot, but this is the first time I have bothered to write a review. I love this place and I love the way Susan does my nails! The gel polish holds up for almost 3 weeks. That is long for me. I am a wine maker and have my hands in water and sanitizer all the time.

Although it was busy(today is Saturday, after all), the staff was able to give me a great pedicure without feeling rushed. The place is clean(no frills, though) and doesn’t stink like a lot of other nail salons. I had to wait a few minutes for an eyebrow wax, but nothing excessive, especially considering how busy they are. This is the second nail salon I’ve visited in O’Fallon, and although the other one was decorated nicer, I’d choose this one to return to!

Awesome!!! Super attentive and take their time. Clean too — use pre-packaged/sanitized tools. Highly recommend.

My technician was sassy the entire time. When I commented that the scalding water was too hot, she turned on the cold with a smirk, walked away, and left me with cold foot bath water. She left dead skin on my feet and really didn’t do a thorough job at all and was distracted the entire time. When it came to my nails, this was my first time getting a manicure in about 5 years. She was constantly brisk with me since I didn’t know the routine or how exactly to hold my hands while she was manicuring them. Not only did she give me this cold attitude the entire time, but when I commented that the owners’ son was cute, she so politely added, «And mean.» I said, «What do you mean?» to which she replied, «He’s so mean. They don’t do anything about him.» When he would get hyper, she would glance up and shake her head as if to say, «I can’t believe that child.» It made me very uncomfortable as a client. Additionally, she made remarks about the bosses like, «They just let anybody do whatever they want around here. But I can’t say anything about it because I’m not the boss.» She would shake her head and look down in disapproval of the way things were run. As an 18 year old girl, I wanted to say, «Excuse me, it is totally uncalled for for you to be bitching about management to a customer. I am extremely uncomfortable. You can stop my nail job right now or get an attitude adjustment because I am paying you not only for the physical outcome of my nails but also the experience while I’m here.» It was incredibly uncomfortable, and my nails are already chipping after three days. She made me feel very unwelcome. I will never go back. My entire experience was incredibly sub par.

I have recommended this place to everyone, and will continue to do so. However, while Tony and his wife do AMAZING nails(manis, acrylics, gel polish, nail art, etc), some of the newer girls I’ve not been as impressed with. They are eager to please, and will make any corrections you ask for, but I’ve been spoiled so long not having to, I feel bad if I do speak up. Every pedi however, has been great and neatly done. But if you’re expecting a quick and out, you’ve looked at the wrong place. They take their time and fully scrub and massage your legs and feet; truly relaxing and pampering. Ask for the menu book when arrive for a pedi and get one of the aromatherapy offerings– most of the time they’ll do them for the $ 30 or $ 35 price, instead of the list price. And even if they won’t, it’s worth the self indulgence every now and then, right???
