Running Start

Not overly impressive compared to some of the running specialty stores you see in New York City, but better than Dick’s, or any other mainstream sporting good stores. Cute little store but not for the experienced runner. The prices were so-​so on some items and expensive on others. Listening to the heavyset employee offer analyzed recommendations to a younger female runner, I didn’t really feel she knew what he was talking about. Not once did he use the word pronation, and was putting the wrong shoes on her based upon what she said she was looking for.

I had a great experience shopping for shoes here! after being in the store not even a couple min I was greeted then quickly helped with what I was looking for! I needed a good pair of shoes but what I got was a wealth of running knowledge along with a perfect pair of shoes for my feet.
I told him what shoes I had been in previously, but he still had me remove my shoes and walk and found out in about 3 steps that the shoe i was in 2 years ago was the right shoe and a running company in St Louis had put me in a totally different wrong shoe for the last 2 years and that may be what is the cause of the knee problems I’m experiencing! Make sure you have some time here, because its important to get the right shoe, and he made sure I did, pretty much making me try on every make of shoe in the support I needed and making sure the size was correct! I was really Impressed, and will be telling everyone to go here as well as making sure I do as well.
Overall this place really knows running and I had a great 2 mile run yesterday in my new shoes! :)

I’ve only been in to buy my SPARK, but the associates treated me like I’d been a customer forever! My boyfriend and I stopped in quickly after dinner, and sadly, they were out of Fruit Punch. It IS the best flavor, so it happens! Even so, the employee recommended a flavor and gave me info on a 5K. They were so friendly! Will be back to get more! Thanks Toolen’s!

I had a few things to look at with my upcoming race. The blonde headed man that worked there was knowledgeable and so sweet. He even showed me how things worked! A+++

These guys are awesome. I went in after running a race and had severe foot problems. They analyzed my stride, measured my foot and made a shoe recommendation. I have not had foot problems since.
Also, the Ancient Order of Hibernians run that they have in March is also a very fun event. 5K with lots of entertainment and refreshments afterwards.
