Hertz Rent A Car

first off I am a gold member with Hertz never had a problem till now. So here’s what happen I had a car appointment. So i call Hertz so they can pick me up from the mechanics and take me to my rental car. I got confirmation number and they said to call this place on Rycroft street. I told the lady the airport Hertz is closer she said they don’t do pickup from there. Same night i called the Hertz Rycroft and lady was nice took my name number and time to pick me up. Well next day go drop off my car. Called Hertz Rycroft and they said they don’t know anything about a pick up and all the drivers are out it will be another hour. Hour passes still nobody call back they said they will send someone from Hertz airport to pick me up. Which earlier they said they don’t do that??? Well another hour passes nobody, call Hertz Rycroft no answer and answering machine is full. Canceled my reservations and will be contact main office about this.

I’ve never had to rent a car in Hawaii and gladly so, since rates are high. However, I was in a car accident and my car had to be repaired. The worst car insurance company, State Farm, works with Hertz to provide loaners while your car is serviced and repaired.
I was picked up by a friendly, talkative guy at the auto repair shop and taken to the Pagoda hotel to fill out my hertz paper work and get my rental car. The man helping me was pleasant enough, tried, unsuccessfully to sell me insurance and handed me the keys to a brand new Mazda 2. It’s a tiny little car, but I wasn’t going to be doing anything drastic that week, so whatevs. I noticed he wrote down the hours of operation on my rental agreement too (this information comes into play later). I went outside with the guy who picked me up to inspect the car. So far, so good.
When I found out I wouldn’t be able to pick up my car when it would be ready, I called State Farm to get approval for a rental extension. After several calls and a complete waste of my time they approved it almost 24 hours after I initially asked. Why? They couldn’t figure out the damn times Hertz was open and they assured me that Hertz would be able to hold my car in their lot for me to pick up. NOPE. The agent kept telling me, «we work very closely with Hertz to provide services blah blah blah» GET IT TOGETHER AND FIGURE OUT YOUR «CLOSE» PARTNER’S POLICIES AND HOURS.
I returned my rental the previous week and the sweetest female rep helped me. She was much nicer than the man I had dealt with when I got the car and after hearing my concerns about the gas program I signed up for, she was able to help me work it out. Hertz allows you to return the car with a less than full tank and pay at a much lower rate ($ 3 something per gallon). They use the amount of miles you drive to calculate how much you owe.
Don’t ever use State Farm. Use this Hertz location if you need a rental car, but don’t ever get State Farm.
