Surprisingly solid homemade cod cakes, ‘rock’-looking home fries that nonetheless are pretty crispy and good, and a nice biscuit on the side = a tasty, cheapish breakfast for not a long wait(they seem to accommodate groups easily and quickly). Agreed though that their iced coffee could use work, and I think next time I’ll try the more Southern-style fare as that seems to be what people rave about.

The wait staff is Sooo attentive and apologized for any meals or ingredients that were not available. Great coffee, and I had the chicken and biscuits with gravy. The gravy has buys of sausage in it, it was delightful and flavorful. Would definitely go back multiple times.

Great breakfast with hard working and friendly servers! It was refreshing to have such exceptional service when it can be hard to come by these days. Many locals frequent here so that right there says a lot.

Perfection. There was no wait and the staff were so efficient and friendly. Food is absolutely delicious and different than all the typical island food. A hidden gem of Martha’s Vineyard!

The service was very slow, and we had to practically beg to get a coffee refill. The food was mediocre, especially, and surprisingly, the biscuits which came out cold and tasting like they had been made the day before. Not horrible, but overpriced.

One of the great things about coming to Martha’s Vineyard in September is this: no lines at Biscuit. We came here for breakfast on a blustery and cool morning to a nearly empty restaurant and seated ourselves by the window. Soon we had beautiful plates of their famous biscuits and gravy in front of us, served along with scrambled eggs, some bacon and home fries. It was a heavy meal, no doubt about it but it was so good. The biscuits are creamy and just melt in your mouth along with the gravy. There’s something about this place– maybe the way the wait staff smile at you slyly knowing you’re trying the biscuits for the first time and you will become addicted, or the locals sitting nearby greedily devouring their plates without the throngs of tourists getting in their way. I don’t know what it is, but I still dream of going back to biscuit!

Excellent! We had an early breakfast before getting on the boat. The chicken tenders and biscuits smothered in gravy were perfect!

This establishment has a healthy reputation for great cuisine. I’d offer that the food is southern comfort, but not great — it’s very good — tasty if you please. It’s reminiscent of southern styled biscuits and gravy. I had biscuits n gravy, with soft scrambled eggs(perfection — no brown/scortch), and home fries(small whole potoes cooked inside the skin with seasoning on top) — not my version of southern home fries(chopped peppers, onions, etc.). I think my expectations was too high. I didn’t even get a 2nd cup of coffee… I will add that the wait staff was extremely attentive to my needs and wants; and although there is usually a line, it moves along at a good pace. Check in with the host upon arrival. Enjoy.

I had the biscuits and gravy which was perfectly delicious– peppery and creamy. It’s a boisterous place in the mornings; you’ll wait but it’s worth it and the servers really hustle! The atmosphere is helped with the Motown music they play over the sound system. My dining companion had the South Beach and said the fruit was perfect.

Blechhhh. They made a breakfast sandwich with extremely dry biscuits and the consistency was terrible. They only put one egg and one piece of bacon in it, so all I could taste was the biscuit. Also, worst iced coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Just tasted like iced water.

Did not have a good dining experience today @ Biscuits. I ordered the roasted veggie wrap and it was awful. It was supposed to have about 4 or 5 different veggies inside, but what I got was lettuce, a couple pieces of onion, and some extremely undercooked«sweet potatoes» that were hard as rocks. I really think they they gave me leftover sweet potato fries that didn’t make it into the fryer that day. When the food arrived It was about 30 minutes before they closed so I really think the staff was just trying to get out of there. The wait staff started vacuuming and bringing out checks while people were still eating(rude!). Wouldn’t return, I like restaurants where the kitchen staff takes pride in the food.

I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews about their biscuits and gravy, but we gave it a shot and I was so glad. The biscuits here are so yummy! It might just be a preference thing, but they’re some of the best I’ve ever had. Soft but not overly doughy, and so fresh tasting. The gravy was great too. The service was quick and on the ball, and we only waited about 5 min for a table.

The food was just ok to me and I didn’t like that they seemed to be rushing us to eat and leave. However, I think its just because the place is so small and they obviously don’t want to have to turn down a ton of business for lack of available tables(as a business owner I get it). The home fries are really weird. I wouldn’t recommend. It is more of a fried potato ball then what you usually get when you want home fries. The servers are extremely nice!

Every time we are at MV with our boat we stop here for breakfast. Best sausage gravy with biscuits ever! The Monte Cristo is to die for. When in OB go here for breakfast, always a crowd.

Biscuits was promising as a full service breakfast place. What we found was that they have delicious food, as decadent as you want. The biscuit with sausage gravy was delish. Southerners will not be disappointed! Health food fans will. The only issue we had was the coffee, which was worse than the Folger’s I used to make at home. The waitress hardly cared that we didn’t like it. I won’t be going back to Biscuits.

Nice little breakfast and lunch place. Ordered veggie egg white omelet with avocado, strawberry cream cheese French toast, cod cakes, bacon cakes. Kids juices were $ 3.50 each, which was a bit high, INHO. Loved the food here and can’t wait to be back.

Homey atmosphere though the music was really loud, but it was bluesy, so I’m ok with it. Biscuits were awesome, as expected. Had the linguica wrap and would recommend it to anyone. The line was crazy long but we got there before the big rush(8am) on Sunday. Owner seems to know everyone and is very personable. It’s no wonder this place thrives.

I never understood how people could like such dry, tasteless bread like biscuits. But that’s because my experience with biscuits ended with KFC. Biscuits here are fluffy and delicious. My biscuit-loving dining companion agreed, so it’s not just that they’re better than KFC biscuits. The rest of the food was pretty good, but nothing too special. The blueberry pancakes were pretty disappointing considering the tiny amount of blueberries. This place is really all about the biscuits. Note: According to the staff, the building is too old to have restrooms, so you have to walk a quarter mile to the public restrooms.
