I had never been here before, but my in-laws have and said it was great. We had a reservation at the restaurant on Mother’s Day. I understand that it is busy on Mother’s Day, but from the time we were seated it took an hour for our food to arrive. Our waitress was very unpleasant and rude. The food was ok, not great. The only thing that was nice about this place is that it was cheap. Wouldn’t recommend.

Grandma loves the fish fry here so we went together on a Wednesday at noon. It’s an average pub/bar environment, nothing fancy. I loved my perch and grandma loved her cod. The food was great. The service was excellent. Our server Tammy was very attentive and I really appreciated that. We will definitely be back!

Service was great! Went for lunch and our waitress was so patient with my toddler. Burgers and fries… delish. There was a drunk guy sitting at the bar(itbwas 11am, who am i to judge?) who kept telling stories of his business ventures. Entertainment? Plus.

It’s solid casual food that was fresh and fairly priced. Enjoyed the chicken enchilada wraps as an appetizer. I had a Philly cheese steak — like I say often, this is really a steak sandwich at Jim Dandy’s too. The Dandy chips are awesome, I’d come back for those. Hubs loved his sausage patty sandwich. Our server was attentive and took time to review the specials and fish fry. She said pizza is popular too. They have Sunday brunch menu items, most under $ 7 she said. The dining room is outdated but clean. The bar area looks recently refurbished. There are 10 or so entrees. I’ll try pizza sometime. Looks like most of the items are made in-house, I looked at food passing by.

Went there on a Friday night. The bar area looked ok and was half full. We went here due to the fact it was in the area we were visiting. I was uncertain about dining here due to the reviews I read but we decided to see for ourselves. The service we had was prompt however the waitress was surly and definitely not pleasant. My wife and felt that if we would have questioned anything we would have encountered her wrath. The fish fry was no better than what we could have done with an oven and a trip to the frozen fish section at the grocery store. Do yourself a favor and take your hard earned dollars and go anywhere else.

Hate to give a poor review, but had a really bad experience tonight. I give 2 stars based on food… but less than a 1 based on owner issues. My husband LOVES the ribs here, so we’re pretty regular customers. We have had issues with the owners wife on prior occasions, but I think I’ve had enough now. In the past she’s just been rude, on one occasion we told the waitress we were going to the back room for a smoke… and meanwhile the wife had cleared our table, threw out our drinks and food, and gave our table away… without asking anyone. We were gone 2 minutes and had alerted our waitress… ANDTONIGHT’S event: I’m trying to eat healthier during my pregnancy. I ordered a wrap, and the side choices are a fried potato option. So, I ask the waitress if I can have a salad for an upcharge. She goes and asks the cook, and comes back and says, yes, you can do that for a $ 2 upcharge. So, I say that’s fine. She brings the salad. When I’ve all but finished with it, she comes and says the owner’s wife overheard and that I cannot do that after all and the waitress has to charge me the full amount. AFTER I ALREADYORDERANDEATIT. I mean, it’s one thing to say that before I get the food, or to say in the future. But, to charge a customer over double the price already told to her and after she eats the item??? BADBUSINESSPRACTICE. To lose regular customers over your $ 2.50 greed is just ridiculous. Her overall rudeness, incompetence, and now just GREED is too much to come back, even with their great ribs(which seem to also have gotten A LOT smaller recently, FYI).

great food at great prices. I am surprised at the negative reviews. You should certainly give this place a chance! Especially the rueben sandwich — by far the best I’ve had.

We have been going to Jim Dandy’s for a long time, and the food has always been good. In the past couple of years they have made a lot of improvements, fixed the place up, and become a family favorite. They have great sandwiches, burgers, and fall off the bone ribs. It’s a pretty big place, so they are also a good pick for groups. Oh, they also have a very good fish fry, and an excellent house salad with thick and tasty ranch dressing.

So this is a bit of a mixed review… went once and had a sandwich wasn’t terribly impressed. The sandwich was fine, the service was ok(we ate in) and the drinks were reasonably priced. Last night though we picked up a pizza. Oh hello. Now that is what you should all be ordering at Jim Dandy’s. Pizza. Homemade crust, thin and crispy, bottom liberally sprinkled with cornmeal. Sweet and tangy sauce, also suspecting homemade on that front. We topped ours with sausage and pepperoni, while the pepperoni was nothing special the sausage was some of the best I’ve had. They also sprinkled a little bit of oregano on the pizza along with the cheese adding and extra hit of flavor. We got the pizza to-go, and it stayed crispy and warm on our short trip home. We’ve tried pizzas from a couple places in the area and while most of them are fine Jim Dandy’s has become our new favorite. I only wish they served a size other than 14″, I’m a big fan of leftover pizza– especially for breakfast. Or a snack. Or another dinner. Or lunch.

If I could give this restaurant ZERO stars, I would. This was by far the worst dining experience of my life! I haven’t been in the Milwaukee area for a couple years, so when I picked up a friend to catch dinner, we found ourselves driving down 27th Street. We had never been to Jim Dandy’s before, but thought we’d give it a shot. We sat down in the dining room. It was relatively empty for a Saturday night, and I guess that should have been our first clue that something was wrong with this establishment. We ordered two beers from an EXTREMELY rude waitress, and after waiting about 15 minutes, our beer finally came, and our waitress was then ready to take our order. I ordered the broccoli and cheese soup with a classic cheeseburger. My friend just ordered a cheeseburger. The soup had decent flavor, but I was two bites into my cheeseburger when my friend started to gasp. My friend found PLASTIC in her burger patty. PLASTIC?! A LOTOFITTOO?! How does this happen? We flagged down our waitress and told her what happened, and she immediately took away our food. After waiting(hungry) for 15 minutes, she came back and said, «it’s plastic from the brush we use to butter the burger buns, so it’s sanitary.» I’m thinking in my head, «when is consuming plastic EVER sanitary?» I was still willing to let Jim Dandy’s make the situation right at this point. I was very respectful to the waitress, patient and calm. I asked to speak to the manager/owner. The waitress shot back saying that she was busy, and wouldn’t be able to come see us, but I said I’d wait.(Note: My friend is pretty shy, that is why I was handling this situation.) Fast forward 20 minutes, the manager/owner finally comes out to our table. She was an older woman, and incredibly disrespectful. I told her that I was disappointed with the service and food, and she used the same line the waitress used. She was talking to me as if I had done something wrong. EXCUSEME? She stormed off after blaming me for the unsatisfactory dining experience. Umm. what? Our waitress stops back at the table and drops off our check. What on earth? You are going to CHARGE us for dinner after all of this? They sure did. We didn’t even get to eat our food?! I called the owner back over and told her I felt it was unacceptable that I was being charged for dinner, and she gets in my face and says that I am unacceptable. Seriously? The whole dining room was watching at this point, and I could tell by their faces how horrified they were at her behavior. I told her I wasn’t going to pay for a dinner that I couldn’t even eat, and she got up and called the POLICE on us. Oak Creek Police Dept showed up, and she says we refuse to pay for our food. The police officers were very understanding, and completely agreed with us, but at this point we were so hungry and ready to leave that I just paid the dang bill. Stay away from Jim Dandy’s. The owner is rude, disrespectful and downright crazy. Take your business to Mulligan’s– or pretty much ANYWHERE but here. I’d rather go hungry then eat at this sorry excuse for a dining establishment.
