The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Teunissen has done surgery on 3 of our dogs. We will definitely keep going there.

I have been here three times with my dog at crazy hours of the night. Everytime the staff had been very friendly, kind and helpful. The prices seem high but when I compared them to another emergency hospital in West Allis, the prices were much more affordable! They even follow up the next day with a phone call to check in on how my dog is doing. I would highly recommend this vet hospital!

They saved our puppy’s life! I can’t say enough about the doctors and staff, every single one was deeply caring and professional. I hope no one needs them, but if you do, you’ll see for yourself how wonderful they are.

I’ve had three trips here over the last year (we’ve had really bad luck with pets this year) and each time everything has been wonderful. Great communication, friendly, nonjudgmental and helpful staff. I’m thankful they are 15 minutes away. When your dog chokes on something at 1am you have to act quick and they sure did and always do.

You never really think to look for a 24 hour vet until you need one. We took our pup here on a Friday around 8pm after she ate some things she shouldn’t have. We called ahead and told them what happened and they suggested we come in to get a quick check on her. They told us up front the emergency costs for a consult (which was a little high, but for an emergency visit, it didn’t matter) which I thought was nice. The place is super nice with 6 – 8 rooms for pets and a large lobby. The staff was super nice and had the paperwork prepped by the time we got there (which was like 15 min). We saw a vet tech and vet that explained the situation to us in great detail and gave us many options (leaving her overnight, taking her home, bringing in urine samples, etc…). They really left the decisions in our hands which was great but also gave us suggestions and facts from AAHA (?) on what they think. In all, it was an expensive several trips (initial consult, urine tests, etc…) but I think it was well worth it. They seem to err on the side of caution and I really wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re looking for a 24 hour emergency vet, definitely make this a top consideration.

Dr Fleming saved my beautiful dog and best bud. After a couple months and just a few visits, she had my Eve feeling great. I would highly recommend Lakeshore for emergency or special care.

Very professional staff, attentive and friendly. From beginning to follow up, my cats diagnosis and surgery was smooth sailing! We are very lucky to have access to all of the specialists via Lakeshore!

Three months ago my vet referred me here because my 10-​yo cat had been very ill and they couldn’t do anything more for him. It was a nightmare. These people are cold and lack compassion. I wasn’t allowed to stay with my cat. When the vet came in he hurriedly described my cat’s condition. He had a neck and metastatic lung sarcoma and would never walk again. Then he quickly named off a list of the potential «treatments» and costs. I was in total shock. I had no idea my cat was that ill and neither did my vet. I decided to have my cat put to sleep rather than increase his suffering just to keep him alive a few months. That must have irritated the vet because he then made a cutting remark to me, insinuating I was selfish, while I sat there in disbelief and coping with the realization this was the end. Then unfortunately this same vet came in and euthanized my cat while he laid in my arms. The only time my cat and I had at the end of his life was violated by these cruel people. They don’t care, they’re just about money. I don’t recommend them. Don’t take your pet here!

I am going to make this short and sweet. I and our extended family have been here many times. The last was for my dog who has cancer. We think they are GREAT!!! From start to finish, polite, professional, and caring. We would not go anywhere else for ER services or specialists! They have our business!!!

Dr Flemming took lots of time to learn my cats medical history to help her make a diagnosis. She clearly explained what tests were needed. Once a diagnosis was made she throughly explained it and how to manage it.
The facility was clean and inviting. I liked that they had coffee and cocoa available, it is very thoughtful.

Brought my cat Prince in on ⁸⁄₁₅. He had a urinary blockage. After they examined him, and gave me all my options, I decided to put my friend to sleep. They were very compassionate and even sent a sympathy card. I gave them 4 stars because I thought they were a little high priced.

This ²⁴⁄₇ vet clinic is really a pet emergency room, not for regular or routine scheduled veterinary treatment. My regular vet, Greenfield Veterinary Clinic, lists this place on their voice mail when the office is closed. I irresponsibly had tinsel on my Christmas tree (I’m Buddhist, what do I know about these things?), and one of my cats slurped up a strand like it was some kind of noodle. A quick Google search confirmed my queasy initial suspicion that this was not a benign foreign substance inside a cat digestive tract, which led to a worry filled trip to Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists. Reception was quick, polite, with an initial wallet biopsy process that has to be expected for an emergency care practice. I came in feeling both stressed and foolish, but just before and after me were 5 dog and/​or cat owners who were also in because their pets ate something poisonous or otherwise dangerous.
It seemed like I waited a long time in the waiting room, then again in the exam room, but that’s only because I was distressed about the tinsel inside Tasha Yar. A reality check against my watch revealed that inside of 15 minutes from arrival, a young but capable veterinarian was attempting to make my cat regurgitate, after warning me that the procedure didn’t always work. Apparently, even though cats so often just randomly throw up at home, just to disquiet me for no real reason, it’s very hard to make them vomit when you actually want them to. And she didn’t. The vet offered to put a ‘scope down her esophagus, but suggested that was a low probability play, and advised a «wait and see» 24 – 48 hour period with canned pumpkin feeding to move things along, so to speak. In the supermarket next door, I got the canned pumpkin (not in the canned vegetables, like all the other canned vegetables, but rather, in the baked goods section, somewhat inexplicably, as all the other pie fillings are in canned goods).
The next day, the emergency clinic emailed Tasha’s medical records to my regular vet, who called to see how she was doing, and then a little bit later, the vet from Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists emailed me directly to see how Tasha was doing. Tasha vexed me with very normal behavior, while I diligently examined cat feces over 48 hours, looking for the tinsel. Somehow, the offending holiday decoration-​cum-​unhealthy-​cat-​pasta passed by unnoticed, but both vets told me via email that the time for concern was over. Compared to a routine vet visit, the emergency clinic was expensive, but not surprisingly so, and their treatment was competent and professional, their concern for my feline friend and I seemed genuine, and when it comes to pet emergencies, you really don’t have a whole lot of choice.

I was really impressed with this place the night we went there. It was this past Saturday that I was playing with my dog and noticed a gash on the corner of his mouth. I was totally freaked out about this!
We arrived at about 6pm, and it started to get really busy there after. Everyone was really nice and seemed genuine. Unfortunately we had been put into a room for about an hour with no one telling us what was taking so long. No big deal though, I made the connection that it was busy and they will get to us when they can.
The vet came in and told us we had two options to fix this. Either wait and see or stitch it. I’m not a vet, I don’t have any experience with animals and injuries. I told her I would trust her opinion and wanted to know (since she does this everyday) what she thought would be best for our dog. She said to stitch it up.
Well, to make this review speed up a bit. We paid over $ 300 to put our dog under and place temporary stitches in his mouth. By temporary I mean by Monday they came out. We followed the instructions they gave us, and by monday morning they were gapping open. We went to Brentwood that day and the vet there immediately said to take the stitches out. Apparently mouth wounds will usually heal well on their own. The stitches they put in were causing more pain and discomfort than the wound itself. That was obvious to us when the stitches came out he looked much happier. He started acting like his playful self.
When the «specialists» called to check up on our dog I told them what had happened with the stitches. They didn’t say ANYTHING about helping us or our dog. I was told that the vet would be notified. I am upset about the money, but I expected to pay a lot for emergency services. I am furious that they put my dog under and stitched him up and caused more discomfort and pain than necessary. For heavens sake he’s a puppy! How they can take my money and cause pain to my pup and family is beyond me.

My experience with Lakeshore Veterinary was really great! I am very happy with the service I received, the friendly people I encountered, and my dog is doing well after the whole experience.
My dog had been acting weird that day and I thought he just had some stomach problems. It wasn’t until 11pm that night (on a Saturday) when he started dragging his butt on the ground and I noticed he had a huge BULGE on his rear end! After online research, I realized it was an anal gland abscess and was something that should be attended to IMMEDIATELY. However, I was visiting from out of town and it was a Saturday night, so there weren’t many options… I needed to find a ²⁴⁄₇ animal hospital/​vet in the area ASAP.
I ended up finding Lakeshore Veterinary online, there werent many reviews, and when I arrived to the location, the clinic was located in a strip mall. .. so overall, I was a bit leery at first. But my nerves were calmed as I met many friendly people there (a receptionist, then a nurse, then another nurse, then the surgeon/​doctor), one after another, who were calm and asked many questions about my dog and his issue, gave me clear answers about MY questions, took as much time as I needed, and gave me an estimate of what the surgery would cost. I was surprised how many staff members there were at such a late hour (midnight-​ish), and considering there werent many people in the waiting room.
The vet/​surgeon put the dog under anesthesia, lanced the abscess, drained the fluid, and flushed out his anal glands. The procedure, overall, went well, the cost was almost exactly what they had estimated, and a friendly nurse brought my sleepy dog out to me with a descriptive sheet about my dog’s issue, what had been done, what medications were given to me, and instructions for future treatment for my dog.
I am happy to have received such great treatment, especially because I’m not from the area and didnt know where to go or what to expect. It has been 4 days after the procedure and my dog is doing well and on the road to recovery!
