I was just in this store and went to the«Customer Service» counter and asked if I could buy a roll of quarters. I was rudely told that I could not buy a roll of quarters, but I could buy a couple of dollars worth. Seriously??? Is it possible that selling me a roll of quarters would disrupt their business operations? I was a customer, but I got no service! LAME! I am no longer going to spend money at this store because I do not want to throw off their precise count of quarters. P. S. I went to Walmart down the street and they sold me a roll of quarters, so I bought my groceries there.

This Fred Meyer is clean and obviously well run. I can count on finding what I need and am always treated with respect and courtesy by their employees. I would recommend them to anyone. I did have a problem with an employee once at the bottle/can return area, but at a later visit she apologized and explained that she was new and didn’t really know what she was doing. After that, we became friends and she would go out of her way to help me whenever she saw me in the store. I have found that being kind and understanding of people’s shortcomings always works out the best when dealing with others.

I love Oak Grove Fred Meyer! They stock so many things — I love to be able to buy canned tomatoes, mascara, Cheerios, towels, baby clothes, hula hoops, plants and garden hoses all in one stop! Oh, and pick up prescriptions at the same time. And the prices are right and customer service great!

Great overall store. Do 95% of our grocery shopping here. Love the Simple Truth products, although need more beef in this category. Produce is always great. This is our«go to» grocery and general merchandise store. Always has what we want and the prices are good.

Check out clerks can range from really nice to kind of cranky. This store is the busiest of all the grocery stores in the immediate area and at least they have plenty of employees and they do a good job of keeping the weirdos in check. Can run out of stock on sale items early in the evening. Some of the deli workers seem like their job is too far above their skill level. But that sure happens a lot at most store delis. Guy manager is really nice. Lady manager, not so much.

I am not sure why this Fred Meyer gets such poor reviews. It is clean and the people working here are nice. The prices are reasonable and there is always a sale. The produce department is not the biggest of the Fred Meyer stores, but it is fresh and well tended. I have put my babies in the day care department and the ladies working in there are awesome. What did I learn today? The organic food section was having a huge sale on Bob’s Red Mill. 25% off!

I called before I loaded up all the kids to see if they honored a competitors online ad. The store clerk instructed me to print out the ad. I explained that I don’t have a printer but an iPhone. That once I got there I could use my phone to go to the competitors website and show them the ad. She said that would work. Well after getting there with all the kids, I was told by a manager, Kathy, that if I didn’t have the ad printed up on paper she couldn’t honor the competitors price. I informed her that I called ahead of time and spoke to an employee, I won’t mention her name here, that said they would honor the ad thru iPhone. Kathy told me to go to the competitors store and get their ad and bring it back to her. I just looked at her deadpanned in the face and calmly pointed out that if I am driving all the way across town to the competitors store to get an ad, I might as well just buy the product. She conceded that I could do that too. So I did and the competitor has a new loyal happy customer.

«What’s on your list today? You’ll find it at Fred Meyer’s»… Oh yeah? Have you seen my list? Do you have any idea as to the exotic, illegal or down right frightening things that my trembling hand has scribbled on this so called Holy Grail of lists during moments of depravity or crazed euphoria? Do you really believe that on the countless lists I have created over my numerous years of debauchery, that I can find it all at Fred Meyers? Lists filled with obscure shiny things that I want or just plain yearn for? Oh, Fred G. Meyer… I think not. According to the Federal Trade Commission Act: — Advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive; — Advertisers must have evidence to back up their claims(as far as I know, they don’t have any of my lists) — Advertisements cannot be unfair. And that is, and will always be my rub with the One Stop Shopping Mecca… ITISN’T ONESTOPSHOPPING! Now don’t get me wrong, I am a life long fan of FM. Other then the 6 years I spent in Los Angeles, I have probably been in a Fred Meyers store at least one a month for my entire life(and if you are keeping score at home, that is 30 years). I’ve worked there, I have shopped there, I have met girlfriends there. I honestly can not remember a time in my life where Freddies wasn’t the default destination for food, sundries or other household goods. And at the same time, I can not remember finding everything I was looking for; chiefly when it comes to hardware or electronics. This particular location is ok, but lacks some of the fancy foods & items found in the more up to date or remodelled locations. Yet, despite my displeasure in not always having everything I want, they do satisfy a bulk of my basic needs. So if I don’t find it at Fred Meyers, I ususally mutter a stream of profanity on my way out the sliding glass doors, and leave with 75% of what happened to be on my list that day.
