Peekaboo Playroom

Clean, chill and perfect for this hot summer day! My din lived it. He’s 5, and there were several tits and costumes for him. We will be back when we come back in town!

A definite downgrade from their previous location. Not only does it feel smaller but split with a party room means there is little space for parents to chill.
Plus generally not as cool of a set up with the «house style» they had.
Not as nice as the last location and a little more expensive at $ 20 a day if my memory serves me right.

Good solid spot for bringing a toddler for an hour or 2 of socializing and play. Several play areas. A few little bays on one side where kids can be in a repair shop, kitchen, etc. Area seems clean and well maintained. Room is small enough to keep your eye on your little one from almost anywhere in the room. Bathrooms/​changing areas were a bit stinky, but it’s to be expected to a degree. Main minor quibble is when you buy a 10 visit pass, they keep the pass and don’t furnish you your own. They say they keep a record of the number of visits, but for $ 100, they need to at least give you your own punch card. Slightly pricey for what you get, but good spot for an hour or two for our 22 month old.

So I was looking for a different place to have my daughter’s 2^nd birthday party. I found Peekaboo Playroom though an online search and I’m so glad I did. We took her about 2 months ago to see the place. That day she had so much fun and we liked the place! The coolest thing for parents is that they have tons of places for us to sit. The place is big enough for the little ones to play but small enough to keep an eye on them.
Today was my daughter’s birthday party and it could not have been any better. We dropped off most of the things we had to bring yesterday so today all we had to worry about was to be there and enjoy. The two young ladies (sorry about forgetting your names) working there today were awesome! They were so helpful and accommodating.
Will definitely be back! Thank you again!

If you are familiar with Marion street you know there are lots of delicious restaurants and cool shops nearby. So having breakfast and then going to the PP was a treat.
I’m always excited about enjoying a day of play with my little ones. I found the Peekaboo Playroom through a Meet up group. So glad that we went to check it out. It’s a great open space for little ones to play (9 months to 4 years old). My 3 year old and 16 month old really enjoyed their time at PP. Plenty of space, lots of fun, appropriate and harmless toys. The lady at the front door was very friendly and welcoming. She told us you only pay once and you are allowed to stay all day or go home take a break and come back later.
Lots of snacks for the kiddos in case you forgot something at home and coffee for mom and dad! Two changing rooms and wipes available. Pay to park on the street. They have lots of Holiday fests coming up so we have already made plans to go back in the next week!

I can’t say enough about this place. Tons of clean space and toys for kids of different ages and interest. I recently had a birthday play date for my 1 year old daughters and peekaboo was awesome. We had a few 1 year olds, some 2 year olds (including my son) and a 3 and 4 year old and they all managed to find something to get into. I was also able to bring in my cupcakes with no issues or additional fees/​hassel. Cindy was there that day and she was magnificent! She was very kind, thoughtful and attentive. At the end she didn’t mind that my two year old suddenly had to go #2. I will certainly be back and highly recommend it to anyone with a super active kid!

Update – since my last review, my son and I have visited Peekaboo several times and have seen considerable improvements. The front desk staff seems more organized and attentive to cleaning and maintaining the space, the music is quieter, the mood less chaotic. I’m happy to see that a local business has turned itself around and is now a great asset to the neighborhood.

We had a great time at this playroom. There is another similar spot in Oak Park that we were going to a lot and I really appreciated the thought that went into this place.
The layout was a big bonus for me. No walls between my kids and I. I could sit down anywhere, and see all the kids. They have a few houses set up. and you cannot see through the walls of the house. so if you have a wobbly child, or if the house looks a bit crowded, you may want to get up and supervise.
The space is a little small. It felt pretty full when they had between 10 – 15 kids. But nowhere near as full as I’ve experienced at other places. I wasn’t running into kids everywhere. Parents here supervised their kids. My kids made a few new «friends» (They’re 1 and 2, so by friends, I mean sharing toys and saying hi).
They steam clean their toys and use natural cleaning products. I really like that. I actually saw the staff take toys away for cleaning while we were there. They pick up toys like a parent would. Ie. Your kid throws balls all over the floor, the staff is there to quickly pick them up and make them look perfect right after they run away to the next best thing.
They had a wide variety of toys for babies and toddlers. The older kids that were there played well with the younger kids and I got the feeling that they enjoyed engaging the little guys in play. My kids loved riding in the cars, and crawling through the mousehole in the houses. They have trains, big (soft!) blocks, and small (soft!) blocks. Legos. Each house is filled with themed toys. Ie. A vet office with stuffed animals and doctor gear– a kitchen with a stove set, table and chairs– a firehouse. They have a few baby slides.
For parents– Should you forget to bring a snack for your kids, this place will not break your bank. Everything was priced under $ 2 on my visit.
The diaper area was surprisingly clean. They provide wipes– so if you unexpectedly run out or forget to bring them (yay!).
The staff was super friendly. I was really pleased and we will definitely return!

Perfect break for parents of little ones.
I agree with the other reviews, but I’d like to add a couple of additional notes. One is the easy sightlines of the place. Pretty much no matter where you are, you can scan the whole playplace at a glance, making it easy to keep track of children (in our case, three).
They also have a well-​stocked snack bar with treats and healthier stuff to eat and drink. Even kefir. There’s a Keurig for the grown-​ups.
Two roomy bathrooms help with diaper situations and toddler bathroom needs. I would have expected just one bathroom for a storefront of that size.
They’re expanding the range of activities by offering special events and camps for the kids. They also bring in photographers now and then. While we haven’t tried those yet, I think it’s another nice feature.

Cute place. I’ve been here a few times and has always been clean. Staff was friendly. I’d say it’s for kids from 8 months to about 4 (maybe 5). Only bad thing is that they don’t have a whole lot of space so there is not much running around so it might not be suitable for very active children.

Could not be happier with this place. Brought my two kids and they played all day. I got to relax have some coffee and get some work done. The staff is great, the place is super clean and the kids loved all their snacks. Pass for each? Yes yes and yes.

We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday at Peekaboo Playroom this past weekend. Our daughter has an older sibling who is 4 ½, and the playroom was the perfect place to accommodate babies in my daughter’s age-​group as well as the preschoolers and toddler who attended. It was a clean and bright setting, with lots of age-​appropriate toys. Adults and kids alike, everyone had a great time! The owners and staff were very accommodating and easy to work with, and the setup worked very well for a birthday party. The party was easy and fun for all — exactly what we were looking for. We could not have been more pleased.

We wanted to a nice spot to head to with our god-​daughter when the weather forecast called for muggy/​rainy conditions. We had noticed the store front earlier in the week when we were at Poor Phil’s, and my wife and I made a mental note to check it out. We are so glad we did. It was a terrific spot for a near four year old to play! The playroom is spacious, CLEAN, and well-​conceived for imaginative playtime. We left exhausted and convinced we would come back again for more play time.
