Doug L.

Business Owner

Doug started Elite Auto Service in 2007 after he got tired of

working in a cubicle in Fresno. He worked as a mechanic

through college, and starting an auto shop was a natural

transition for him. Here’s a little about Doug.

AA degree in Automotive Technology from Merced

College where he graduated as the department’s «student

of the year».

BS degree in Industrial Technology from Fresno State

and work experience in several engineering offices for

various manufacturing businesses in Fresno.

Graduate of the Toyota Technical Education Network.

Work experience at two Toyota dealerships, an Acura

dealership, and several independent repair shops.

ASE Certified Master Technician.

I gave them 3 stars because they took me in a day early. That’s also the reason I didn’t give them one star. After making an appointment last week for tomorrow, I showed up early thinking today was my day to get my catalytic converter replaced. I got there at 0830 and was told if I didn’t want to wait till tomorrow, I could come back at 1 to get my truck worked on. It was when they got my truck on the lift to do the work, they found out they ordered the wrong part. I was told to come back in a few days when they had the correct part. I told them I’d call them. Maybe next week.

We were traveling to Yosemite last Saturday when the check engine light came on. We had just had the car serviced before the trip so we were caught off guard.
We found Elite Auto Service and drove straight there. Doug was extremely helpful.
Determined some wires were not connected, which affected the emissions system. He worked his magic under the hood and we were back on the road an hour later.
We are so appreciative for his clean and cool shop while we waited. Thank you Doug for taking care of us.

While visiting Yosemite my «service engine soon» light came on and so we drove to the nearest large town, where Napa Auto Parts recommended that we see Doug at Elite.
Doug diagnosed the problem and informed me that it wasn’t critical to spend the money to fix the problem at that time. WOW — an honest mechanic.
The facility is clean and modern and they are more than fair. I decided to have them go ahead and change my oil while they were at it.
I was back on the road in an hour!
