Sweet Dreams Cakes and Flowers

When you first meet Laura, you will notice she is direct and to the point, and man does she know her stuff! Planning my wedding, I could definitely appreciate those qualities from a potential vendor!
I knew I had limited options getting married near Yosemite, but that does not take away that Sweet Dreams is a wonderful option for both cake/​desserts and your floral arrangements! I was so happy that a quality business existed so close to my venue.
Flowers–
When I met with Laura, she really listened to what I wanted, I had an idea for simple, pretty flowers not too pricy (very important!) or elaborate but romantic and to match the theme for our rustic chic wedding. She knew so much about flowers, what is in season, how to sub what I wanted with something that fit into my budget but was still pretty, etc. The crazy thing is, you place the order and don’t see the flowers until the day of the wedding– and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL! They were exactly what I wanted. The bouquets, the center piece arrangements, boutonnieres were all just perfect.
Cake–
We had our cake tasting with Laura at Crab Cakes, it was our first and only tasting for desserts since I pretty much knew we would go with Sweet Dreams and I am so happy we did. Her cake is DELICIOUS. The supreme with a layer of cheesecake is sooooo good. We knew we weren’t serving cake to the guests due to budget, but just couldn’t let go of letting our guests taste Laura’s terrific flavors so we ordered the mini cupcakes from her too! It was the perfect addition to our sweets table.
Just want to thank Sweet Dreams (Laura and Alysson) from being on top of it with your service, for your reasonable pricing and quality product in both flowers and cakes!
P.S To brides-​to-​be– having one vendor who does both cake and flowers is such a bonus!!! Limiting the amount of vendors you work with to plan your wedding decreases the stress! Trust me!

When planning a destination wedding, it can be a little daunting trusting vendors out of your own local connections back home. Sweet Dreams was recommended by a friend who lives in Oakhurst so we decided to go with that recommendation.
We contracted them for flowers and for cake. The sunflower bouquets and archway were beautiful!!! And magical against the green pine forest backdrop!
We had the cake match the bride’s grandmother’s wedding cake and it was a beautiful tribute. Tasted fantastic too! Many of our calorie conscious said they would share one piece with spouse and had the spouse go get their own after they took the first bite! Lol
Sweet Dreams is partnered in part with Yosemite Catering. We used them as well. Also, a phenomenal experience. By using this line up for catering, flowers and cake, there are discounts that come into play. That’s great but what really showed through is the collaborative partnering for deliveries, setup, tear down and coordination! So many moving pieces to planning a wedding. These pieces flowed seamlessly!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Laura and Sweet Dreams! I wouldn’t have thought it possible to find a vendor for both cake and flowers with such expertise in both areas, and especially in a small market like Oakhurst/​Yosemite. Laura is truly an artist and was able to interpret my ideas for woodsy themed bouquets and boutonnières expertly. When the flowers arrived on my wedding day I was simply blown away, there was so much variety and all the elements worked together. The blue ombré cake she created was also stunning and arrived beautifully adorned with flowers to match the table arrangements and bouquets, not to mention it was delicious. Sweet Dreams is a stand out in the Oakhurst area, you can’t do any better for your wedding!

Oh my amazing! I am so happy with all of the amazing work that Laura & her team did on my wedding flowers. I had a theme wedding of Harry Potter, and they were amazing! Thank you for everything! I wish I had went through Laura for my cake too!

Worst experience of my life! Drove 3 hours to meet with Laura the owner and a half hour after sitting outside (with my twi year old on a 100 degree day), one of her employees pulled into the parking lot to report to work and rudely asked me if she could help me. I replied that I was there for a wedding consultation (cake, flowers and possibly catering from their other company) with Laura she went inside and left me and my child outside for another 20 minutes. The woman that then met with me almost an hour after my appointment was absolutely horrible. Admitted she had no idea what she was doing. Did not even know what kind if frosting were on the cakes. The cakes seem to have been sitting in the fridge for at least a week. Absolutely horrible experience. I never received an appology from any of the employees. Highly recommend no one travel out of their way for Laura and her poorly trained crew.

I hired Sweet Dreams to do the flowers for my small, intimate wedding in Yosemite Valley and Laura did a tremendous job. I asked for light pink romantic looking flowers and she did exactly that. From the tiny flower girl bouquet to my beautiful bridal bouquet to the flowers on the arbor to the reception flowers. I was a little anxious hiring a florist without getting to ever see the flowers until my wedding day given I lived nowhere near Oakhurst but Laura executed my vision beautifully. Thank you for everything!

My daughter was married this last Saturday November 8^th 2014 at Pines Resort on Bass Lake. Laura did both her flowers and her cake. The flowers were beautifully done not only the choice of flowers but the color combination was spot on. The cake was just as wonderful and everything was delivered on time. We could not have been happier. I would definitely recommend Sweet Dreams. Thank you Laura for a fabulous job!!!

Laura just did both the flowers & cake for my daughter’s recent wedding at The Pines Resort in Bass Lake. The cake was amazing and so were the flowers. We are beyond thrilled! Unlike some who thought she was «snobby», we found her to be easy going & very professional. I highly recommend!

Laura helped to make our wedding a beautiful event! It was so convenient to have the same vendor for our cake and flowers. Laura listened to the ideas I had for our cake and was able to turn them into a delicious and elegant cake that exceeded my expectations. My bouquet was based on a photograph and it was perfectly done with Laura designing the other bouquets /​floral décor /​boutonnieres around it so that everything matched. All of Laura’s creations photographed exceptionally well and we got several compliments. I appreciated that she was flexible, letting us change numbers up to two weeks before the wedding because you have guests who wait until the last minute to RSVP and this can change your needs. She was very professional, responsive, and day of delivery was right on time! Thank you Laura! We highly recommend her floral and bakery services!

My daughter enlisted the services for flowers and cake, we put the deposit down and now 3 MONTHS PRIOR to the wedding my daughter cancelled their services. The owner, Linda, would not refund the $ 300, and definately didn’t care.
My daughter signed the contract which apparently it stated no refunds, but 3 months?
BE VERY CAREFUL LADIES! THIS PLACE WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU OR NEGOTIATE!!!

My flowers were beautiful and the cake was amazing. It was everything that I could have wanted for my wedding. But, the owner was not friendly and very rude. I imagine someone making cakes and putting together flowers for a living should have some social skills.

Amazing.
We strolled in to meet with Laura two weeks before our wedding (we’re quite the procrastinators!). We didn’t even know what we wanted. We gave her an idea of the feeling we wanted from our wedding and she was able to pull it all together. I couldn’t tell you the name of a flower other than a rose, but the flowers she gave us were TO DIE FOR!!! She pulled it all together. She did all bouquets and boutineers (she even gave a second one for the groom that we ended up using after the wedding for pictures in the valley) and we ordered the table flowers from her and assembled them ourselves, mainly because we wanted a very simple, mason jar look. We used, (I know some names now!), dahlias, ranunculus, hyperium berries and bright green mums– so utterly gorgeous! There is no way I could have pulled that together in my brain. She made it better than I could have expected.
She also did our cake too. We were able to sample some flavors and they all were very fresh and delicious. She was able to decorate it so it included some of the flowers from our décor and very simply tied in with our colors. It was perfect and we got many comments on how delicious it was. We ended up having a small one decorated for display and the rest was on a sheet cake ready to be sliced up. This really kept things within our budget and was a great solution that worked out perfectly! Things were delivered on time and it was a pleasure to work with her. She truly knows what she is doing. If you are having a wedding in the Oakhurst area or Yosemite, you have to go with Laura for both your cake and flowers.
Laura is a business woman who knows what she is doing and is able to manage many events at once. Do not be intimidated by this and assume she is «unfriendly». Come to her with your questions and don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if something is not what you want. She is efficient and will not ask you a million times if things feel ok. If you are somewhat prepared and willing to trust the expert for the rest, she is a slice of heaven. Thank you Laura!

I had Laura do both my flowers and cake for my wedding last weekend. Due to my hectic schedule and our living in San Francisco we had to make our selections and conduct all discussions via email or on occasion by phone. Despite not being able to taste the cake beforehand or see any flower samples, Laura managed to take our ideas and suggestions and make them into a wonderful reality.
The bouquets were a simple hydrangea /​rose mix with a few little extras that were beautiful, but I simply don’t know by name. When I picked up the bouquets Laura informed me that the hydrangeas were not quite as blush colored as was hoped, but instead of leaving it as was and hoping I would be ok with that, she had compensated perfectly with a few extra pink accents. I think they may actually have been nicer for it.
The cakes were also wonderful. The presentation was tasteful and in keeping with all our decorations which they would only have noticed when they arrived at our venue (Yosemite Bug Mountain Resort — Also absolutely wonderful), and they were as pleasant tasting as they were looking. While we had a few different types and they were all yummy, a number of our guests commented on how nice the chocolate cake was in particular.
Also on a side note when a mistake was made with the charge on my credit card, Laura was very responsive and it was fixed immediately. As a bride on a tight budget that was greatly appreciated.

One word to describe: PERFECTION! I used Sweet Dreams for my cake as well as my wedding flowers. After first meeting with Laura, the owner, I knew I was going to be happy with everything. She is VERY creative and talented. We came to her with ideas and she gave us suggestions that we absolutely loved! My bouquet and center pieces as well as the flowers and aisle decorations at the church were everything I asked for and more. Simply beautiful!
I was completely sold on using sweet dreams when I found out she makes cakes with butter-​cream frosting and not just that nasty fondant stuff. So not only was my cake visually stunning, but it was delicious! Some of the guests even told us it was the best wedding cake they have ever tasted.
Laura really playing a big part in making my day perfect. She was on time, set up everything and had it ready to go early. And her prices are VERY reasonable for how great everything is.

As we were threatened with legal action, I hesitate to share much here, but just read the review by «alisha h» who has no connection with me.
Suffice to say I do NOT recommend this cakery if you value customer service in the slightest. Please heed my advice and look for a cake elsewhere.
Cake was delicious, and I wish we could go back, but because of everything that went down, I don’t want to risk it. Basically, the cake was not decorated even close to what we specifically asked for, and the owner took zero responsibility. Would not even refund part of the price or make it right in any way, just threatened us with legal action when we mentioned the BBB.

Sweet Dreams Cakery made our wedding cake as well as the bridal bouquet and boutonnieres. I think they did a beautiful job with our cake. We wanted something very simple, but elegant and I think they delivered this perfectly. We got a lot of compliments on the cake being tasty, and I even thought it was very good cake, despite not being much of a cake fan. My bouquet exceeded anything I could have dreamed up. Laura and Casey made the perfect bouquet for me, even though I was indecisive and didn’t really have an idea set for the flowers. I was wowed by them when I saw them. Also, they gave me some flowers for my hair the day of the wedding at no charge AND gave us a really great boutonnière made of a peony that my husband wore for the ceremony. They went above and beyond what was expected and I love them for it.
The only negative thing I would say about them is that they put our cake on a square tile that really stuck out from underneath the cake. Husband and I had a very hard time sourcing our tree stump cake stand, so it was a little sad to see it so covered up by the tile. But, that was such a small thing, they still deserve 5 stars! Sweet Dreams Cakery came highly recommended from multiple sources for my wedding cake. All I can say is, they have eatten the cake but have not dealt with this company on a personal level.
Is their product tasty, moist and delicious? YES
Is their customer service good, flexible and helpful? NO!
Here is my story. I went in for a tasting and the cakes were really good. The owner isn’t the friendliest person, but whatever. Even though they are located in Oakhurst, CA their cakes are not cheap when comparing to Bay Area prices. They charged me $ 45 to rent the cake stand, ok. I’m fine with all this. I understand that as soon as you say wedding — the price doubles. Here is where my problem lies.
The staff at the reception thought the cake stands were disposable. They threw them away. I signed a contract that said if the stands were not returned there would be an additional $ 50 charge. The wedding coordinator at the reception venue agreed to pay the $ 50. While I did my best to contact Sweet Dreams Cakery and let them know who was taking responsibility. They charged my credit card anyway and washed their hands of the situation stating it wasn’t their problem to deal with!
I mean, come on. This is a small town. They are in the wedding business and Sweet Dreams Cakery felt that they were above it all.
The cake was good, but wasn’t worth the hassle of multiple phone calls and a truely disappointing ending. The service there sucks and since I paid over $ 500 for a cake you would think I could get a phone call back within 2 business days.
