All Eyes On Me Optometry

Dr. Thornton and the front office receptionists are great. He really explains what he’s doing, why he’s doing it, and takes time to get to know you. I’ve been going to him for years. This is a real neighborhood optometrist.

Came here about maybe two years ago since I was looking for a new optometrist and read all the good reviews. First off, what I was reading was not what it seemed like when I went in, I believe the Dr. who was examining me was Dr. Thornton at the time who everyone wrote was this young handsome Dr. instead he was this old guy who wasn’t really a people person. He wasn’t clear on his directions when I was in the exam room with him and he made me uncomfortable because he seemed out of place and bored with being a doctor. I will say the two receptionists were super nice which was pretty much the only good thing about this office. Lastly, I did get glasses there, which broke less than a week of having them!!! Wtf!!! I’ll never go there again and would never recommend it.

I recently moved back to the Bay Area from the east coast and was looking for a quality eye doctor. Thanks to Unilocal,I found out about All Eyes on Me and as it would work out, his office is nearby my workplace and mere minutes away from my house. Anyhow, I did my research and his office thankfully took my insurance.
I went in this morning. I was anxious about how it would go since I have a very strong prescription aka I’m pretty much blind. It went way better than I expected — I walked in, started filling out the paperwork and before I knew it Dr. Thornton was ready to see me.
We thoroughly discussed my history with my vision, and finished the exam in no time. He went into great detail about how he would best accommodate me with my new gas permeable contact lenses and how it would help my vision.
He even went as far as to get the right lens colored in green — (we all know the dot on the lens fades after a while) so I could have an easier way to differentiate between the two. I was very impressed… His front desk receptionists (not sure of their names yet) are also very friendly and helpful. I’m so excited to get my new contacts next week!
p. s. The frames for glasses are really nice here!!! I might adjust my poor college student budget for a pair. ;)

Dr. Thornton is the best! The front office girls are incredibly helpful in picking out glasses that look good with your facial structure. They really know their stuff.

Love this place. Dr. Thornton is engaging, he takes interest in me as a person, and takes my questions/​arguments seriously. The support staff is friendly and very professional and dependable. There’s no hard-​sell when shopping for frames, and they’ve happily shared any information I wanted in order to buy lenses elsewhere. Just exactly as things are supposed to be.

I have a very difficult and strong prescription. If it is the slightest bit off, even including how my glasses sit on my face, I have unbearable migraines.
The amazing Dr. Aaron Thornton is the solution for all of that! He is highly skilled, kind, professional, takes his time with you and explains things thoroughly. I have been wearing glasses for 50 years. He is by far and away the best eye doctor I have ever had!!! I recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Aaron Thornton is the best optometrist on the planet and I love his staff. He’s skilled, accurate, caring, thorogh and professional. Over the years, he has never steered me wrong, from contact lenses and to monovision, to the right lasik surgeon and more. Recently, he diagnosed my cataracts, and as always, he pointed me in the right direction to get everhthing handled. I’m so thankful to him right now.

Now I haven’t been to many optometrist in my lifetime, but All Eyes On Me is definitely a WONDERFUL one to go.
I recall my first conversation with my coworker about this place to get my eyes tested. Curious to see what this is all about, I do a sudden drop in and I kid you not they had an available appointment for me.
They were a clean professional staff. They were friendly. They were engaging. No pressure no gimmicks pure nice.
Now, Dr. Thornton is a crafty one. By crafty I mean he is skilled at his trade. He will talk with you to get background on your vision. And he clearly speaks in detail so you can hear what he is saying and instructing you to do.
These guys are all around awesome to me. I’d recommend friends family and anyone who needs their eyes checked.

I took in my glasses (that I didn’t even purchase there) and they fixed them for free in 2 min. That’s above and beyond!

Great staff and excellent optometrist. I’ve been visiting Dr. Thornton since I was 12 years old and he’s the only optometrist I’ve seen since my very first eye exam. While I’m way over due for another visit, I’m looking forward to booking an appointment next month! I definitely recommend visiting Dr. Thornton for your next eye exam. Although the frames All Eyes On Me carry is limited, come for the exam and order your pair of glasses elsewhere if you don’t want what they carry.

I recently went to All Eyes On Me for an eye exam and was very impressed with the services I received. Dr. Thornton and his staff were incredibly warm, inviting, and helpful. Dr. Thornton was very thorough in the actual eye exam and his staff went through every item of what would be covered by my insurance versus what I would have to pay out of pocket so I could make the best informed decision about my purchases. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new optometrist.

Dr. Thornton and his staff are excellent. Dr. Thornton is very thorough, seamless and knowledgeable. With his comprehensive exam he corrected my prescription, no more eye-​strain or blur. He is so expert at what he does he reminds me of a dancer. Making numerous moves, taking notes and holding fascinating conversation at the same time.

I have been getting my eyes checked here since I was a preteen… 16 years later I’m still coming here. Over the years I have moved a couple of times and will drive out 30 – 40 mins (or more if traffic) to get my eyes checked.
Dr. Thornton is very knowledgeable and friendly. And I find it pretty awesome that out of all his patients, he still remembers facts about yourself that you’ve told him from prior visits.
The ladies at the front desk are the sweetest and they are the best at fitting your face with the perfect pair of glasses. I remember when I got my first pair of contacts, one of the assistants was so patient with me in trying to figure out how to put them in. I was probably in there for an probably over an hour trying to learn how to put those things in my eyes.
They do have wonky hours, but even then you can still get penciled in at a time best for you.

This place is weird, but maybe it’s just me? I went here a year ago and still get shudder flashbacks when I think about it. Dr. Thornton lies at the heart of the weirdness. To be fair, I generally prefer female optometrists and doctors, but this guy was way too much up in my grill for my taste, even for an eye specialist. Also, he told me NOT to tell him my old scrip, which was odd – like a party trick? When my sample contacts came, they were way off – one was weaker than what I’d been in before. Got a new scrip, they ordered my sample lenses and said we’ll call you when they come in – a couple of business days. I wait, hear nothing for two weeks, finally I call and they say, Oh yeah, they’re backordered. Two weeks later, I finally get the new lenses (which were fine). I know I’m not coming back, but am over it.
Six months later, I go to a glasses store w/​Dr. Thornton’s scrip and get glasses that I can’t see out of at all. The optometrist over there checks out my scrip, says it seems odd to her and I end up getting glasses under my four-​year-​old scrip. All in all, this place was a waste of time and money. Worst optometry experience I’ve had in twenty-​two years of nearsightedness.

My siblings and I have been going to Dr. Thornton for over 15 years, and we’ve each driven 30 – 60 minutes out of our way even after we moved away from the area. We’ve seen him for regular eye exams, contact lenses, glasses, post-​Lasik checkups, and when we had random eye issues. Dr. Thornton is an excellent optometrist, very thorough, effective, friendly, and always a pleasure to visit. Helen is also a genius at helping people choose frames, even if your face is oddly-​shaped. :)

Lo and Behold I can see again! Dr. A. Thornton and his staff are extremely
professional and friendly. I have had several pairs of glasses created and
rehabbed by ALL EYES ME. I have also referred other people to Dr. Thornton
with wonderful results. As an aside, and just between you and me, I think Dr.
Aaron is quite handsome, stylish and adorable.

Ironically I had taken the day off to fly up from LA to take my mom to her Dr. Appt. I woke up with a right eye, swollen and closed shut with crustiness. I had these symptoms before and pretty much knew what it was and needed a prescription.
I knew this place was still in business after 34 years of growing up the street from the Dimond District. I had never been there, but it was convenient as I was boarding a plane back the same day. After I took my mom to her appt, which she is in better shape than me, we head over here.
I walked in and asked if they had same day appts and if there were any available. The lovely receptionist was kind enough to check my insurance to see if I was covered for this type of exam. My crappy VSP didn’t cover it, but the office visit wasn’t bad. $ 40.
I hadn’t even complete the necessary paperwork when Dr. Thornton called me in, less than 5 mins of walking in the door.
Very sharp and perceptive. After asking why I was there, recognized that I had something else going on. I was actually suffering from fantastic cold.
He asked questions and was chatty as well; confirmed my suspicions of my eye condition. He wanted to knock this thing out before it got out of hand and also because he knew I was boarding a plane. He asked if I had insurance because the prescription he wanted to give me was name brand and didn’t want to take a chance with generic, but he gave me fair warning that it would be expensive.
He wrote out a schedule for me for the week how take the drops. And said if there any issues to call him, even if I get home and see my ophthalmologist.
I’m trying to move back to the Bay and if I do, I think I have already found my eye doc. Turns out the receptionist and I went to high school together so we spent a few minutes chatting. Lovely bunch of folks and very efficient.

I have only good things to say about this place! We live in union city and were trying to find a place that would get me in for an eye exam within a few hours (short notice, I know). We called about 10 different places, this was the only one that could get me in same day, in an hour and a half!
I was expecting a decent but average experience and I got so much more! Dr. Thornton was great! His presence has a calming effect and he is quite a good communicator! I felt like he should really have been a psychologist instead of an optometrist, but he was a good one of those too. His exam was thorough and explained why things were necessary as well as what the results were and why there were those results etc. He was so pleasant my time there flew by!
The lady at the front desk was also very sweet. My husband and 5 month old baby were waiting for me and he told me that she was very nice to the baby, helping to keep him entertained (tricky for a 5 month old!). She was also very helpful explaining insurance benefits, costs, etc.
I had been to several shops previously looking for frames that were a decent price but looked good… I was constantly disappointed. But not here. They had a great selection of less expensive frames, as well as brand name frames. I went with the less expensive ones. After everything: exam, frames, lenses (light weight and antireflective coating), etc. our out of pocket was only $ 112!!! The other places I went to check out prices for were more than twice that!
Great optometrist, great staff, great selection, great prices. I am a very happy customer!
