Andy helped my husband and I find the perfect house for our family. We have bought and sold 4 houses previously through out the United States and I must say Andy is the best realtor we have ever worked with. I truly felt he always had our best interest in mind. He helped us secure the house of our dreams on a tight timeline in a very competitive market. He was always available to meet us, even with little notice. He drove with us around the area and took the time to understand what was important to us. As soon as new listings came to the market he took us to see. He worked late in the evenings to help put together offers so we could be the first to make an offer. I felt he also looked out for our best interest to make sure we didn’t over pay or purchase a home we would have trouble with future resale since we tend to relocate every few years with work. I highly recommend Andy.

If I could give a higher review, I would. We have worked with Andy twice, first to buy our condo, and then (8 years later) to sell it. Both experiences could not have been easier, more straightforward or more pleasant. Every time we spoke to Andy he treated us like we were his only clients. He was friendly, responsive, extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took care of everything! Super easy-​going and sincere, but a consummate businessman at the same time. Just a truly honest, reliable, very cool guy to work with. And, I have to say, we got a great price for our condo — and it sold WAY above what we ever expected! Andy outlined an effective strategy and executed it to perfection. Thank you!

Andy just sold my condo (and very successfully). He made the process incredibly easy and smooth from start to finish. After my husband and I met with him the first time, we knew we had picked the right realtor. He took care of every aspect of the sale-​from arranging the stagers who did a great job, the painters, he arranged to be in the unit to meet with them, etc. Basically, I handed over the keys and he took care of all of it. He made sure to consult with me and run the property ad and video by me ahead of time. When I found a small mistake in the text that accompanied the video he had it corrected immediately. He regularly updated me and sent me traffic data from the online site. After two open houses and a brokers’ open-​voila-​condo sold at a great price. He walked us through the offers and gave us great advice. If you want someone to take care of the process for you, to stay calm and collected throughout the whole process-​go with Andy!

I echo much of what has been written in these reviews already. Andy was/​is the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. He was a great listener, his communication was superb (timely follow up emails and calls, clear explanations, always accessible, great explainer), he was an extremely competent project manager, and his real estate advice was spot on. He proposed a plan for selling our loft, my wife and I grilled him until we felt comfortable with the approach, and then he did *exactly* what he said he’d do, on time, over the course of months. He kept us in the loop always and prompted us for information when he needed it. He is thoughtful, professional, has a great sense of humor, he’s honest and straightforward, and a good guy. What a pleasure to work with him! I strongly recommend Andy and his company, Caldecott Properties.

Andy has not helped me either buy or sell a home. But what he has done is go out of his way to help me figure out if I qualify for a refinance for my existing home. It’s my problem for which he has asked no compensation (I’ve offered to pay him, but he’s refused – hence, this glowing review). He calculated what my property needed to be appraised based on what I still owe, looked for comps that would likely be used by an appraiser, and gave me his guesstimate as to what an appraiser would say about my property’s current value – along with lots of other info– and sent it all to me in comprehensible form very quickly. He is an expert in the loft market (which is what I own) particularly in the Emeryville and Oakland areas), and I totally trust his judgement. He’s never asked me to let him sell my loft if I ever decide to do so, but I would do so in a heartbeat. He’ll go out of his way to help you buy or sell your home, and you can’t ask for more than that. Phenomenal agent!

Andy Read is the best kept secret in the East Bay Real Estate community.
He’s honest, kind, thoughtful and he has the voice of an angel…
oh wait, on that last thing I was probably thinking of Prince, who lives in Minneapolis and has NOTHING to do with the Bay Area Real Estate game. (or does he?) … Prince, if you are reading this, please come and play at the Fox Theater or The Paramount Theater in Oakland, they are excellent venues for your talents.
Anyway… Andy Read helped us sell our house and it was the perfect experience. Easy, well thought out, and a Fight Club worthy bidding war where teeth and cash and merkins were flying through the air with wild abandon. Yes it was late 2013.

I started developing a five-​unit loft property with my business partner just before the real estate crash in 2008. We talked to a lot of realtors, many of them good ones, but Andy struck us as being the most real and genuine. He gave us lots of time and feedback as we were finishing the project, and when the market bottomed out he was a steady presence to help us get through it. While other developers were bailing out and going bankrupt, Andy and the team at Caldecott Properties doggedly stuck with us and helped us sell all of our units.
When I wanted to sell my own home, I decided to go with Andy and Caldecott, and I’m so glad I did. Andy and his team are well-​connected, savvy veterans, and they genuinely are looking out for their clients’ best interests. Plus, Andy is just very personable and a pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for a realtor, I don’t think you can do any better.

Andy recently helped us purchase a home In Moraga, and we could not have been more pleased with his help. It was a long process involving several offers and rounds of inspections. Andy was patient, knowledgeable, connected, and incredibly organized. Despite the challenging market, Andy helped us find a great house for a fair price. We could not recommend Andy and the team at Caldecott Properties more highly.

Andy helped us buy our first house back in 2008 and recently helped us evaluate what our next house-​buying move should be. As first time buyers in 2008, we had lots of questions that must have sounded so dumb to someone as experienced in real estate as Andy is, but he answered them all patiently and without making us feel like the rookies we were. Also, we bought right before the big real estate crash, but our house’s value has withstood the market implosion, proving that Andy found us a great deal.
Recently, Andy happily spent time sending us comps and analyzing whether and when we should sell/​upgrade our house. The end result was that we could have gone either way on selling the house or sitting tight for a couple more years, but we felt no pressure from him to make a move. We really appreciated not getting the hard sell under these circumstances.
Added bonus: Andy’s very relaxed and personable, and comes across as a genuine guy, which is what you want when you’re placing major decisions about your family’s home in someone’s hands. I recommend him without hesitation and will be calling him to take care of us again when we decide to make a move.

Seriously… just incredible. My wife and I moved to LA and left Andy in charge of some remodel work to get the house ready for market. Easy breezy, on time and on budget. And the property sold for more than I thought possible, way more.
Results are one thing, but it was the process that struck me, No boloney, no stress, just a great guy to work with.

Andy was recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for live/​work space in Oakland. I really appreciated both his honest evaluations of the properties we looked at and his resourcefulness in finding a variety of properties to view. Andy also did a brilliant job of negotiating for the bank owned property that I decided on and of getting it through escrow in a reasonable amount of time.

Andy was a helpful and very patient Realtor when I bought my home in 2007. I was a nervous first-​time buyer and was picky about everything.
