I provided my well-​organized tax information over a month in advance of when taxes were due, yet Mr. Lang failed to file my taxes by the deadline. He said he filed an extension but never provided any documentation. I had to visit his office twice before he provided me a copy of the draft tax documents, which were filled with errors. When I asked questions he got defensive and cut short the appointment. When I emailed him with corrections to my taxes he never responded. When I went to his office for an in person appointment, after taking the morning off work to get this finally settled, he was not there, and his receptionist told me he was… wait for it… unable to complete my taxes!
Now it’s past the tax deadline, I am out $ 285, and have to find another way to get my taxes done. Unbelievable.
He takes phone calls while you’re meeting with him, makes you wait in the lobby even when you have an «appointment», and views questions about your own taxes as a challenge to his authority.
Stay away from this shady, unprofessional loser.

This year was my first year preparing my taxes, so I decided to go with the company my mother has been going to for a while.
Although this is my fault And I should have thoroughly looked at the forms to make sure my address was correct on my taxes for both 2014 and 2015, I didn’t think I needed it, because the funds were being deposited into my account. My federal 2014 was denied because they assumed I was independent (again not their fault), so I called them back and the Secretary Sabrina assisted me, but was very short over the phone when she resubmitted my form. Because my form was submitted again, it had to be sent in the mail instead of my bank account. I checked the IRS website to see where my refund was and it was sent March 11^th. I patiently waited for them to come to my address, two weeks passed (this week), and I realized on the paper work, my address number and street were correct, but my zip code and city were incorrect. I called them today and spoke with Quentin, at first I told him I would come in and fill out a form to correct the issue instead of him emailing it to me, but I realized my schedule was tight, so asked him to email it instead and he said he was doing at that moment.
I gave him an hour before I called back to follow up with the form and he claimed it had only been 20 – 30 minutes after we talked and he proceeded to be very rude and argumentative with me over the phone.
I suggest you go else where, because maybe the 60 years of business is starting to lose its flare. I will be taking my 2016 taxes elsewhere next year.

I’ve brought my business to Mr. Lang and the staff of Associated Tax Services for 10 year now, (a mere drop in the bucket of their 60 years of service). I’ve brought him personal and also trust taxes. Mr. Lang and his staff are professional, courteous and available even during the busiest parts of the fiscal year. Mr. Lang has become a friend of the family as he has come to know our circumstances and has helped us to always find the credits and deductions we are eligible to take. The office could be a movie set, no spoilers though. Highly recommended.

I first used Associated Tax Services in 2010. My tax returns had suddenly become complicated due to a mix of employment and self-​employment income, and work in two different states. Quentin Lang handled my returns, found substantial, legitimate deductions I did not know about, and offered suggestions for tax planning for the coming years. My returns were also prepared quickly, within a week (even the first year, when I gave him two years at once. Oops!) He does all of this in a decidedly non-​institutional setting, with jazz records playing softly in the background and vintage magazines to read should you have to wait. If you want a drive-​by experience, he’s probably not your guy. However, if you want a thorough professional you can trust, look no further.

When I became pregnant I turned over the house finances to my husband never suspecting that this math genius would be so bad with the accounts! When I met Quentin Lang our taxes were a mess. Quentin sifted through all the information we had, found our mistakes and corrected them, got extensions and told us how to make payment plans. This year we are looking forward to a stress free tax season.
Quentin is certified with the IRS and is honest. He charges reasonably and files your taxes super quickly. His business is well established in our neighborhood. If you are looking for someone to file even a remotely shady tax return, he is not your guy.
My husband and I have enjoyed working with him. We refer him to others every time we get the chance.

I was referred to Associated Tax Service 5 years ago by a friend because I was tired of being ripped off by another local accountant whose services were fine but whose fees were akin to highway robbery! My relationship with Quentin Lang, the sole proprietor, has been extremely beneficial, both monetarily and personally. First and foremost, Quentin is always willing to review my returns with me (unlike my previous accountant who simply wanted to efile my returns without consulting me). The fees at Associated Tax Service are half the price of what I paid previously, and my refunds have consistently been higher;Quentin offers notary services at no charge, and I love the feel of his office. His office manager offers fresh baked goods, hot coffee and tea to clients as they wait; the music is wonderful and Quentin is always happy to see me. He is available after the tax season and returns calls promptly. I couldn’t be happier with the service he provides and would recommend him without hesitation.

I have used Mr. Quentin’s services for many years. The office is wonderful as the business is available year round for tax questions and customers are able to receive free notary services. I appreciate the fact that the office staff, along with Quentin are friendly, knowledgeable and expert in their service delivery. But nothing tops the homemade cookies made each time for customers when taxes are due.

I was using a highly professional tax office to do my taxes for years until once
I forgot to sign the return before I mailed it and the IRS sent it back. Thats when I meet quentin and had him check it over. He noticed right away that he could get me a larger refund because of new changes in tax codes that the other guy missed.
He redid my taxes and I got over $ 4000 more back. He is very professional and knowledgeable about taxes. When I went to his office he showed me how he keeps up on all new tax changes and prides himself in how he always look for ways to legally maximize his clients returns.
I was also impressed with the old memobilla he has in his office. I have crossed
checked his services with other local tax businesses to be sure that I am getting
the best and nobody else has been able to beat his services yet.

Look elsewhere! I went to Quentin for my taxes since they were complicated that year. Quentin said what I needed was a bit too complicated for him and he referred me to his buddy in Oakland. His buddy was a total rip off and totally butchered my taxes — so much that the government caught the overpay and issued me a refund.

Visiting Quentin’s office is a bit like stepping back in time. Make an appointment, go in and sit with him. Many old black and white photos up on the walls. He has a great jazz and soul record collection, and LPs are all he plays in the office. This is a second generation Tax Services company, that has been at that location since the 1950’s.
Professionally, Quentin is extremely knowledgable about Tax issues. While he is modern in his approach (e-​filing and up on all the newest), his customer service is old-​fashioned — in the best possible sense of that term. Highly recommended.

I went in to see Quentin Lang after he answered his phone sounding very friendly and knowledgeable. In person was a different story. He answered his phone every 2 minutes so our conversation was very difficult and he kept showing me binders of classes that he had taken to prove his merits instead of focusing on my questions. He shoved me out of his office after an hour of me listening to him answer potential clients calls. He took my tax forms, didn’t copy them, and then when I emailed him didn’t reply. Finally, when I emailed to tell him that I had the last form that I needed he said he didn’t have time for me and would mail back my forms. I called and called and called and emailed to make sure that he scanned them first and mailed them to the correct address and only on my 4^th call did I manage to catch him. No response to vm or after leaving a message with his secretary before this. He was on a conference call when I got through and didn’t remember where he had sent the forms. Then he hung up on me for his very important conference call. I’m sure other people have had different experiences but I can’t believe the lack of professionalism involved here. I still don’t know what I’m going to do about my taxes this year.
