Coyote Signs

So Wednesday never came and my vinyl install never happen. My sign Look good from afar abut the streaks are still there although he said it’ll be gone in two weeks. Went over my invoices and reviewed all my emails with him only to realize I was never given any price adjustment but only additional charges that was never mention. Get ready to charged $ 600 for plywood $ 100 for painting it and you can imagine the rest.

I found Scooter on Unilocal and because of all the rave reviews and only one bad review, I was certain he was the guy to do a fabulous sign for my business. This was furthest from the truth and he caused me so much distress and upset.
I initially contacted Scooter who was initially very responsive on the phone and emails but once I sent him my $ 600 deposit, he disappeared!
After several emails and phone calls the first time, he eventually got back to me with the excuse that he had this HUGE project that financially took precedence over mine.
Fine, against my better judgment, I forgave him after he said he really wanted to do my job and that the design would be completed within a week’s time. I gave him 2 weeks at which time, no response to my several emails and several phone calls. No response, NOTHING!
What did I have to do to get my money back from an irresponsible person who really could care less about my project? I had to physically go to his home and get my money back.
I was a very good, understanding client who never bullied or reprimanded him. I honestly do not know why he treated me this way but I am very suspicious about all these good reviews. He was the most unprofessional individual I have ever worked with.
Oh, and this was going on for 4 months! Really Scooter?

I hired Scooter after finding him on Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier! We were looking for one sign with a pretty simple design that we could get quickly. It took one or two emails with him before he sent us a price quote. We had our sign in about three weeks, but it was delayed on our end because the design team was going back and forth. Once we finalized a design, Scooter got the sign done and up in less than a week. He was always available, responded promptly, and was professional through every step of the process. We will definitely be going back to him in the future, and would recommend him to anyone in the Bay Area!

I figured I should write an update since my earlier review was five years ago.
Scooter has done about 6 signs for us since my review back in 2007. The most recent one was a complicated cutout of the letters of our logo. It looks *gorgeous* in the lobby.
The one before that was a crazy idea — our logo cut in metal. The letters and the logo look like a million bucks but were really quite inexpensive.
I will continue to go to Scooter for all of my sign needs.

We have the most fabulous sign in the world. Scooter has this deep artistic appreciation for his art work. And it IS art work. Thank you Scooter for doing such a tremendous job representing us through your craftsmanship! HIGHLY recommended.

Started working on a project together. Paid him. Then never heard from him again.
He seemed like a very talented person, but never responded to emails and then never returned calls at all. He left us hanging on a string after making promises.

I called up Coyote Signs in a panic. It was Thursday at 4pm and I needed a banner sign for my company by Monday at 8am. Scooter was beyond helpful and my sign was gorgeous and on time!

Scooter was great! Very efficient. I am one of the owners at Diving Swallow Tattoo in downtown Oakland and found Coyote Signs on Unilocal with lots of great comments about the outcome of his work. I agree with everyone and would definately recommend him for your sign needs.

. We’ve had his sign up at our first location for almost two years now, and it’s holding up great. When it was time to do the sign for our second location, I got a bunch of bids from other vendors because I had forgotten how much I paid Scooter. His sign was so beautiful that I figured I overpaid like I did on many things my first time around :) Turns out I paid less than I had remembered. Scooter once again came back with a competitive bid and delivered stunningly beautiful signs for us. I can’t recommend Scooter highly enough!

Sorry Scooter that i have to do this to you, but Unilocal was where i found you and worked with you. OK here are the negative things.
_​i called Scooter to see if he could finish my sign before the grand opening day. He promised that it would be done before that (I provided the logo). He took the money and didn’t finished that job. I had to email and called him several times to make sure that he would keep his word. Finally he emailed me back and said he couldn’t get it done on time. YEAH, he wanted the money right the way and didn’t delivery his words. So finally he just put the outline to make it looked we had something on our window for the grand opening day.
_​Then, took him almost two weeks to finish the rest. and when he did it, he did my address number wrong.
_​Then he promised that he would come to fix it right the way, but took him another two weeks to do so. (So we confused my customers, the UPS guy, the mail man and my neighbors… by wrong address number)…
Bottom line is that his price is not cheap, didn’t do the work as promised, all the five stars on Unilocal might be fake…
Sorry Scooter, you knew that this was going to happen. you knew that i would rate you on Unilocal because that where i found you… OOOPS, i forgot to ask what the warranty was for the sign, maybe after you read this rating, you would not fix my sign if anything happen.

Scooter at Coyote Signs was easy to work with, understood what we wanted and very responsive. We are very pleased with the hand-​painted sign he did for us at our coffee house, Farley’s East, in Oakland.

He did a great job on our sign. He helped flesh out the initial concept, got everything ordered up, and the install went really smoothly. I also was impressed that his final numbers were actually less than his initial quote. If you need a sign or some graphics, then Scooter is the one to call. I’ll be using him again for our graphics and signage needs in the future.

I heart Coyote Signs. Farmstead Montclair is a better place because of our oh so groovy placards, window painting, and sidewalk sign
Scooter is a cinch to deal with, reasonably priced, and has a dry wit.
The project took a bit longer than expected, but hey, life gets in the way of commerce sometimes.
My only complaint is that he should rename his business to Scooter Signs…

Scooter was great to work with– I sent him a terrible mockup of what I wanted and he turned it into something wonderful.

The sign was displayed outdoors in extreme weather and held up beautifully.

I needed a sign for a public venue at an outdoor festival. I had ideas, but not a full design. Scooter took my needs and ideas and turned them into a great design. Along the way, there was great communication. E.g. when I told him I wasn’t sure how I could light the sign, he added reflective letters to the plan.
Once I displayed the sign, several neighbor venues and even passers by commented on the quality of the sign materials and design. As designed, it held up to weather, as well as the lurchings of intoxicated revelers.

I was in need of serious signage for my store, Zolita. I am on17th street off of Valencia and getting people find me sometimes can be a challenge. After several tries with other sign companies who couldnt take the time to get me a quote, I called Coyote Signs on recommendation of another Mission merchant.
Scooter came right over, gave me a more than fair quote and promised the window signs done within a week. I thought, «Okay cool, he’s on it.» Well the next day I got an email saying he could come the VERY NEXT day due to the fact he had business in the area.
The service offered was reasonable price in line with national standards, quick and efficient. I highly recommend this company if you need signage, Scooter has 10 years under his tool belt, his suggestions were right on the mark, noting how I could get the best visibility and bang for my buck.
Honest, friendly, & environmentally sound… doesn’t get much better then this. Thanks a bunch!
