Cuddle Cats

Dawn Michelle has been caring for our cats for well over 10 years. We have one cat now who has special dietary needs and in order for us to even be gone overnight, not to mention take week-​end trips or a vacation we need to have the cat visited for feeding twice a day without fail. Dawn Michelle always works us into her schedule and not only feeds «Thunder», but spends quality time interacting with him, brushing him and truly caring for him. She has sent us videos and checks in to make sure that we have returned on schedule so that his feeding schedule is not disrupted. We have complete confidence in Dawn Michelle and greatly appreciate having her step in during our absences from home.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely hate leaving anyone a crappy review. And I wish I’d been able to actually review this service, but we weren’t given an opportunity to even get that far.
After our regular catsitter was unavailable, my boyfriend and I started shopping around to see what some other folks in the area might charge. Dawn was only slightly cheaper than another service, so via email we set up a time to meet her, introduce her to the cat, show her around our place and give her a set of keys, on a Thursday at 7pm.
Well, that Thursday our meeting time of 7pm came and went. No sign of Dawn, no call, no email. At around 7:30 I emailed her asking her to check in and let us know if she wasn’t coming at all so that we could make other arrangements. 8pm, I get an email from her letting us know that she was at a birthday party, and could come right over. Then a slurred voicemail from her letting us know that it was HER birthday party at a bar nearby, and that she lost track of time. Ummmm… seriously? Why would you schedule a meeting on the same night as your birthday party when you were out getting sloshed? And how could anyone think it was reasonable to be an hour late with zero contact and then be able to waltz into someone’s home and get a set of keys?
After a quick reply email to let her know not to bother, we called another sitter back, who was luckily able to squeeze an initial meeting in for us the next morning, which was inconvenient for both of us, but necessary if we wanted someone to be checking in on the cat.
From the other reviews Dawn has here, it is obvious that when she chooses to do her job well she can provide a great service, but as a former petsitter myself I just can’t fathom the thought process that justified to her that it was OK to leave potential clients high and dry like that.

Dawn Michelle has been providing cat care off and on for me and my cats for years, through a variety of kitty medical needs and kitty neurosis.
She is caring and trustworthy, and definitely goes the extra mile. I was having trouble finding appropriate food my diabetic cat would like, and Dawn Michelle brought food for the kitty to try, which he likes quite a bit. She noticed his ratty collar (oops) and got him a new one. She brings toys for the kitties to play with.
I have had to be out of town a lot in the past year, to take care of family in another state, and Dawn Michelle has always been available and accomodating to my hectic schedule. I feel sorry to have to leave my cats so often, but am comforted to know that they are in good hands.
