I had an initial consultation with Dr. Wu this week. I was very impressed — he took a lot of time to explain things to me, taught me a lot about how things work, was very patient in answering my questions, never made me feel rushed. He is a top notch doctor and the one that I want to trust with my procedure. I left feeling very educated in the subject and confident that I had found a fabulous doctor. If these ratings were based on him alone, I would give him 5 stars without a question. However, patients also have to interact with the staff, and that is often the downfall in medical offices. The woman at the front desk of Dr. Wu’s office was lovely, professional, and polite. I have not been pleased with the procedure scheduling department. I left a message and didn’t hear back. After 24 hours with no response, I called several more times and kept getting voice mail. I finally defaulted to operator and asked to wait on hold until they could talk to me. When I finally got through, the scheduler was not very nice at all. I was extraordinarily put off. I will still go to this office because I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Wu. Hopefully the schedulers can work on being a little more friendly and helpful.

Dr. Wu may be a competent gastroenterologist. However his office’s communication skills and lack of responses to emails, phone calls, etc. has sent me to a different medical group. Horrible experience.

Very satisfied with my colonoscopy performed by Dr. Wu. Professional and comfortable to talk to prior to procedure. Can’t say enough about the wonderful medical personnel from the young woman who found my hard-to-find veins to the wonderful anesthetist who made me feel very safe and secure. Being relatively new to bay area, I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Wu and his staff for this very important procedure.

Oh joy. Being at a beautiful downtown Oakland business rotunda for a surgical procedure is strange rather than being at a hospital. Who would of thought that there was a surgical suite in the Oakland Rotunda? Office is efficient. Nurses are great and explain everything. I saw Dr Wu fwho reviewed everything with me. I got Propofol aka«milk of amnesia» in my IV and that is all I remember and the next thing I know is that I am waking up. I understand Propofol puts patients under in about 45 seconds. Not a fun procedure, but Dr Wu and his staff are very professional and make you feel at ease.

I was recommend to see him from a patient I had at my office. She raved about how good he is and that everyone who works in the medical field goes to him(the patient is a retired RN). It’s nice that his office is in the same building I work at.
