Specialties
My goal is to combine creative, aesthetic design with good, functional and technical solutions. I can help you define your visions and custom-design a landscape that’s right for your site and its unique environment. I’m known for low maintenance, water-conserving landscapes that provide long-term enjoyment along with water savings. I’ve worked for institutional, commercial, and residential clients.
My work is design. I am a licensed landscape architect; I’m not a landscape contractor. I can recommend contractors, help you choose them, and do a punch list when their work is nearing completion.
My work includes conceptual design, planting and irrigation plans, grading and drainage, decks, walls, fences, paving, help with City or water district submittals for new construction… or some people just need a consultation.
History
Established in 2000.
I’ve been a landscape architect since 1991-running my own firm since 2000. Before that I ran a gardening service for 15 years, so I have a lot of hands-on experience. I have a home office and I’m the only person in it, so clients always work directly with me.

Business Owner
I started out as a gardener-even though i grew up in a New York City apartment once I came to the West Coast the bug hit me to grow things. I ran a gardening service from 1977 – 1988. I went back to school in 1982 to study landscape architecture-which was more about learning design and drawing than about growing things. You have to put all of it together to get a successful result, and it works better when you work closely with the contractor. I worked in various offices from 1988 to 2000, then went out on my own.
