Inn at Deep Creek

This place would have received 4 stars had they actually charged me what I was quoted. It came out to be $ 123.00 more than what I was quoted online, and the manager said I must have looked at something wrong, great customer service. Conveniently enough I did not get a receipt until they next day because their printer was «broken». Also, it says they do not take a deposit and sure enough the next day, after booking, a $ 234 deposit was taken from my account. That did not bother me until I realized I got charge more than my online quote. Save your money and rent a beautiful house on the lake like the rest of my family did. Had I known I would be charged almost $ 800 for three nights, I would have done the same. Plus, the coffee comes out late.

This place is fantastic! We stayed here during Memorial Day Weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Inn at Deep Creek offers fantastic amenities including a full kitchen with plates and silverware, an indoor lounge area with couches, board games, a computer with a printer, and a washer and dryer set, and an outdoor pool with a great lounge area. You have all you need!
However, the best part about this hotel is the location. You are basically in the smack-​dab middle of Deep Creek Lake so therefore you are close to a lot of bars, restaurants, and other convenience stores! During our trip, whenever we needed to get something from Arrowhead or we wanted to get drinks/​food at Honi Honi or Ace’s Run, we just walked to those places instead of driving. So super convenient, and much safer than driving if you want to get a few drinks at Honi Honi.
The only thing to warn you about is the WiFi, which can be spotty and slow at best. However, the WiFi around Deep Creek Lake in general isn’t the best so it’s not necessarily the hotel’s fault. Overall, Inn at Deep Creek is wonderful and I couldn’t recommend staying at this place more!

I was told they did a renovation a couple of years ago. All they did in my personal opinion is just put lipstick on a cow. I’ll give credit when credit is due it appears to be clean. Wish I could post the pictures I took of a very old heater in the cramped bathroom, maybe the 50’s heater and the tile getting ready to fall off the wall and the horrible looking wood trim around the base of the tub and behind the toilet. It looks like the wood is rotting. Not enough lighting in the room. Especially in the kitchenette. I will never recommend this to stay at. At $ 116.00 a night plus tax ugh. Posted on Their Facebook site, they removed it and blocked me. Also the water pipes squealed when our neighbor was showering.

I’m a local who never stays at hotels in Garrett County because it’s home. I recently had to stay there because the restaurant where I am employed was open during the snowstorm and I was forced to have to stay because roads were not passable. I found the rooms to not only be very attractive, the beds extremely comfortable, the room clean, but also there’s is a wonderful little kitchenette area in the room with real dishes and glasses and nice spacious bathroom with the walk-​in shower. I had to stay at the Inn for two nights, and the staff took wonderful care of myself and my coworkers, even going the extra mile as to snow blow out my car from the immense amount of snow so that I could get my jeep out. They have coin laundry and a lovely lobby with a fireplace and sitting area. Really cute, very nicely appointed place, would recommend to couples in the lake area for the weekend.

The staff is wonderful! The hotel is not new by any means, but you can see the work that has gone into making it nice… Good bedding, clean furniture, nice amenities. The pool is great! The grounds are nice & there are many choices of tables/​places to sit outside. Again, I really enjoyed the staff. It’s a pretty cool place.

I am happy to write this review. The hotel is not large which for us was nice not having a lot of people around. The staff is super nice, laid back, and pleasant. This is a pet friendly hotel, your pets are truly welcomed here. Behind the hotel is a path you can take down to the lake where your dog can enjoy a nice swim. The rooms on the backside of the hotel offer more privacy from the roadway, and they have a nice view of the lake/​woods. Although we had a front room which faced the parking lot; we could not hear the road noise. This little hotel has a lot to offer.

We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to stay fairly close to their venue (North Glade Inn). We chose the Inn at Deep Creek, near the lake. We booked through
and received a rate of $ 170 per night for a Fri-​Sun stay. After taxes that was about $ 190 per night.
We got a simple double queen room, and no fireplace. We were on the west/​parking lot side of the inn on the 2^nd floor. There are nice communal deck areas with chairs, high tops and picnic tables. Outside the highway traffic is a bit noisy, but it didn’t bother us inside. We took a walk around to the east side decks where it is quieter. If you stay in the northernmost rooms, you get only the slightest view of the lakes from the deck (as another reviewer here photographed). So, really, I wouldn’t consider any of the rooms to be lake view.
Pros: Our room was quaint and generally clean. We were excited to have a little kitchenette area with a Keurig (my wife loves coffee), microwave, and full-​sized refrigerator. The bed is advertised as a plush mattress and it is indeed very, very soft and comfortable. (May not be if you like hard mattresses.) The wi-​fi worked well.
Cons: Our biggest issue was that the hotel seemed to have thin walls and ceilings as we were variously woken up by birds incessantly chirping (perhaps a nest somewhere in/​on the roof), people talking in the next room, and dogs loudly barking (from the same room next door???). The air conditioner worked fine but was loud and, oddly, seemed to kick on and off quite a bit which woke us up frequently. Suffice to say, we didn’t sleep that soundly in this room. Though the addition of the kitchenette is great, the bathroom is quite cramped with not enough space to hang towels and no counter space to put your toiletries. There were also a few unclean spots in the bathroom, especially in the tub and under the toilet seat. Our other main issue is that the lighting in this particular room was HORRIBLE. Only three old room/​table lamps. When we were getting dressed for the wedding it was hard for my wife to see well in order to iron her dress, and the lighting in the bathroom was horrible (1 of 4 small lightbulbs was burnt out, which did not help) for us to get ready. Also, few outlets in the room and my cell phone would not charge properly by plugging into the outlets in the table lamps, which I discovered through a dead phone on Saturday morning. Other minor issues include that that the bathroom is outdated with a creaky shower insert (my wife thought the tub was going to fall through the floor!) and old tiles with lots of old screw holes in them, we couldn’t get the cable to work, and that the «iPod docks» are part of pretty old alarm clocks and not very easy to use. Finally, unfortunately in the mid-​May the pool was not yet open. I can’t really blame them on this one as it is prior to Memorial Day and supposedly usually much cooler in Oakland/​Swanton that time of year, but it was in the 80’s during our visit and my wife was disappointed not to have access to the pool.
As you can see, the cons outweigh the pros, and despite what it might seem from my list my wife and I are not extremely picky. I did shop around and choose this hotel, and as this resort area seems expensive for hotels in general this was one of the more reasonably prices in the area. Still, at $ 190 a night I have stayed in way nicer hotels, therefore with some of the issues we encountered I have to give the Inn at Deep Creek a sub-​average review.

Really nice place and very helpful staff. Not a big place or a chain place. Don’t come with five star expectations on a two star budget. The place is located right on south end of lake. Rooms 215 – 220 have view of lake from room and the deck outside had a couple chairs to enjoy lake breeze too.
Rooms on second level can have A– frame design ti key in more light. Ask for them, it’s great layout (220 best room).
Rooms can have fireplace (uses fake logs), microwave and a mini fridge. Not all rooms have these, so ask when you book or call after you book online. The building isn’t newer but still well updated.
This place is closest one to the state park. Carla, property manager, gave us handout for three closest parks (within fifteen minutes). Any questions about area they were glad to help with. Leave the chain behind and take a place on deck in back.

The front desk staff were very pleasant. The room itself was beautiful, and the beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I actually got the model number to surprise my wife with a new mattress soon. Having said that. I took off a star for a serious problem. I understand that we had a snowstorm this week, I know it was bitter cold outside. I live in MD, so I know how it is weather wise. My issue is it took 2 days to clear off the deck of snow. At the VERY LEAST, the steps should have been cleaned off, it was quite dangerous and slippery. They did plow the lot, which was good. Also, the couches are very uncomfortable, but the mattresses made up for it ten fold. We will be back!

Worst hotel booking experience and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever! I can understand it from the staff but from the General Manager? So quoting the GM this morning «if you are not happy with the reservation, you do not have to stay here»!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Booked them via
originally for 2÷14÷2015 for one night but was contacted by the INN, in which they indicated that for Valentine’s day there is a 2 nights minimum stay, I was advised to cancel the booking and rebook it for 2÷15÷2015. which I promptly did.
confirmed it and charged it, but when I contacted the INN back, I was told they do not have my reservation, so long story short, tried working to resolve this for 3 times up to the morning we were suppose to depart for the 4 hour drive to the INN. Still, there was lots of confusion, and on the final phone call with the INN, the general manager, instead of trying to resolve this, she (I believe her name is Carla) simply told me I don’t have to stay there! WELL, I WON’T, AND if you are smart consumer, you will stay away from this one too!

Nice, clean, affordable hotel on Deep Creek Lake. We were only staying one night for a wedding, but the hotel was just what we needed. The website makes it look a little nicer/​fancier than it actually is, and I don’t think I’d want to stay here for a week or anything, but for a long weekend it’d be a nice place to crash while exploring the area. Our room was really dark though without the curtains open, only 2 tables lamps in the room with no overhead lighting. Staff was friendly.

Great location, recently renovated rooms, nice amenities, super friendly staff!
Stay here, you’ll really enjoy the relaxed pace.
My only caveat is that they don’t have a beach or swimming access to the lake. They have a pool and dock, but no lake access for swimmers.

I was reminded of the saying ‘enjoy the journey, not the destination’ during my stay here. If you think of it as a clean, safe place to stay while you are doing other things, you won’t be disappointed. If you arrive expecting a romantic inn on a lake for a special weekend away, you might be.
It is kind of a glorified motel. The rooms were nice but nothing too special — think conference-​chic with a hint of mountain lodge. You can swim in the lake off their boat slips but it’s a bit shallow and sludgy underfoot. The front desk gave us great advice to spend the day at Swallow Falls and that was a much better place to swim. There is a pool but it’s a little small and can get a bit crowded.
To sum up, if you want a place for your family to stay while you explore Deep Creek, stay here… If you want a secluded, romantic escape, look at other options…

This place is a pet friendly Inn right on Deep Creek Lake. They offer free boat slips and treats for your dog when you check-​in! They had a wonderful staff who were full of dinner suggestions and/​or activities to do in the area. We had a great trip and can’t wait to go back!
