When I first met Sarah to help me with irrigation re-​do and potentially a major landscaping project, I thought I had found the perfect person — great ideas, seemed knowledgeable, low bid. However she no-​showed on the day we agreed upon, then NEVER returned my phone calls despite my calling over and over again. Quite a disappointment, and very unprofessional

Sarah was a referral from another designer we called who was unavailable. We wanted someone to look at a possible leak in irrigation. She checked things out but it wasn’t clear cut, she attempted to go under the house but did not have the right equipment. She left her ladder and was going to check it out later and in the meantime we had her fix our irrigation in the front. She picked up the ladder but to my knowledge never went back under the house. We have working sprinklers but never got any feedback on the leak. I have emailed and called several times and still no response. Another reviewer said the same thing, she is nice and seems to know her stuff but is not punctual and does not return phone calls/​emails. Disappointed…

The only reason this isnt getting a 1 Star Review is because I thought Sarah was really nice and I thought we were on the same page as far as what I wanted done. I came up with my own design, Sarah said yes that was do-​able, we agreed on a price and then…(right, nothing). I called and e-​mailed and then more…(right, more nothing).

The Company I work for hired Sarah to do some landscaping for our customer in 2012 in Oakland. The project was poorly completed and had problems that we requested her to repair within the first few months of completion. She failed to return phone calls. After many attempts she finally agreed to take care of the problem but never showed up. The homeowner said she was not allowed back onto her property after this. We wound up taking care of the problem ourselves,

If you want someone honest who really knows their stuff, you should call Sarah. She totally fixed our sprinkler/​irrigation problem and replaced our timer too!
I will always refer to her for any landscape/​irrigation problem we encounter.

So, here’s the thing. I don’t normally write Unilocal reviews… think I’ve only ever written one other than this. BUT, Sarah is so great that I felt compelled to write this one.
I had a relatively small irrigation problem… relatively new system had what appeared to be an electrical problem. Another person came out to look at it, told me the main unit was no good and that it would be at least $ 350 to replace.
Fortunately, I found Gretchen W’s Unilocal and called Sarah. She came out that day (actually a Friday evening!) and diagnosed the problem. Turns out, the main unit was no good. BUT, Sarah thought to look on the back of the unit for the manufacture date. Based on that, she determined that it was still under warranty! She took care of the exchange (even though someone else did the original install a few years back) and we were back up and watering in no time (and at a fraction of the cost).
Turns out, she also did a complete yard re-​do on my street (found this out in talking with her on my project), and it looks fabulous. So, I’d recommend her for any job, big or small. She’s extremely responsive, professional and efficient. Maybe not a «free consult» that others promise. But, she will save you BIG money overall and do it quickly in a quality manner.

Sarah is wonderful! I needed someone to do some repairs (which most irrigation specialists don’t do– they only want to do the big installation) and she was here the next day, totally fixed everything for a minimal cost. PLUS, I asked to her change all the sprinkler heads to cover places that weren’t getting watered, and she showed me how to do that myself and told me where to go to get the supplies and what to buy– saving me lots of money.
She was recommended to me by a friend who had a big job (moving sprinkler lines after a fence was built on top of the existing ones) and was extremely happy with her work.
