If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, this is the place to be. I love Mexican food, I love lengua tacos to chicken mole to menudo. This was delicious. Their Posole was delicious! The perfect amount of spice. I had their chicken enchiladas. Everything was perfect. Did I say that they also make fresh tortillas? How often do you see that?! It was everything you can ask for in an authentic Mexican restaurant. I just was to add that their strawberry margarita and their horchata was fabulous too.

The owner was so nice that I feel bad not liking the food. I had a tostada and when he asked how things were going, I had to fight back the words«bland» because I didn’t want to sound like a bitch. I had just learned about Prince’s death so, it was a moody kinda afternoon and didn’t need to tip someone’s boat over all over some blandness. I’d built some excitement to try the bean dip when I read about it on Unilocal. It too, lacked flavor and it lacked lard! If you’re gonna say authentic, the beans need some lard. But the service is excellent! Very very nice people! I’d give it another try and hope to get more spice.

I hate giving a bad review, but the food I ordered gave me a stomach ache. I ordered a carnitas burrito. When I cut it open there was a strange smell for a second. I wasn’t sure if maybe I had imagined it because I put my face closer, took a big whiff, and the smell seemed to have gone away. Maybe it didn’t come from the burrito? I wasn’t sure. I decided to eat it because I was starving, but the deeper into it I got the worse it seemed. The meat was not fresh at all. I couldn’t finish it. I regretted the 1⁄3 that I ate.

This place is a great addition to the neighborhood– they have awesome, authentic food, outstanding service and great prices. The menu is huge, as are their portions, but their prices are cheaper than similar restaurants in Alameda. The restaurant is much nicer inside than outside, and they have a lot of tables and clean restrooms. Our waiter was the best waiter I’ve had in a long time: friendly, quick, just the right amount of attentive, and got all the orders correct. They serve complementary chips, salsa and bean dip to start you off. I had a grilled chicken burrito: $ 6.25 and so big I couldn’t even finish it. My dad had a combo plate with tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos, and he got fresh corn tortillas and a beef burrito to go. We got a good sampling of their menu and everything was excellent.

I like this place. The food here is really good but I haven’t been in a while. What I noticed in the last year is that the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gotten higher. I can get more food for the same price elsewhere.

This is the best Mexican food in the Bay Area. The beans are delicious and the service is fantastic. I only wish I had found it earlier. Try the posole when you go! I cannot wait to go back!!! Easily a 5 Star Rating

Average Mexican food with nice service and kid options. Downside for us was the grisly meat in both our meals. Food was ok but nothing better than your average taco truck.

I haven’t ran into a burrito that has been as good as the one I had here in a while. The chicken wet burrito is above the standard with everything in in you want. The sour cream and cheese on the top with pico de gallo all topped with delicious green or red sauce(I got green and it’s bomb). Not expensive at all and customer service is very great. They always greet me nicely and make sure that the water and chips and salsa are always topped. I didn’t mention I’m a regular. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food.

Delicious food! The boyfriend and I ordered the lengua(beef tongue) plate, chicken soup, and an extra side of chips and salsa. Every single thing, from the beef tongue to the green sauce to the refried beans, was absolutely divine. We discovered that the refried beans(the best I’ve ever had, might I add) together with the green sauce made a delicious dip for the perfectly toasted chips. The lengua steaks were seared to perfection and paired fantastically with the green sauce. The chicken soup was very tasty and savory. Come here. Quick. And order yourself a delicious meal. You won’t regret it. We are going back ASAP.

I have eaten here several times and each time I am amazed at how tasty my food is. I tend to order the full plates rather than just burritos or tacos(although those are very good as well). Everything tastes fresh. The best sauces I’ve had, from the ranchero to the molé — at least better than the vast majority of places. The cooks here seem to be working with better recipes and ingredients. This place is rarely crowded, much less so than the taqueria down the street(which is not as good, in case you’re trying to decide), so it’s usually quiet enough for you to chill out or be able to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. Service is always quick and gracious.

My husband and I found this place on a Sunday night when our go-to Mexican restaurant was closed. What luck! La Hacienda was even better and will now become our regular spot. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. The customer service was consistently good our whole stay… and the food! We definitely made the clean plate club. It was SO good! Among all the Mexican restaurants in Oakland, this one is truly a shining star.

This is a tasty local Mexican food restaurant with friendly staff. I enjoy their chicken chimichangas and flan. They serve their flan with strawberry sauce and whipped cream. I ask them to make it plain for me. They recently started serving news desserts. Churros and sweet tamales. Fun! I would love to see dessert sopapillas served with honey. Mmmmmmm. Love you all!

Came in here on a Sunday since all the other Mexican takeouts where closed. We decided to sit down since we had the time. Service was super fast and our server was really friendly-always a good combo! The food was well priced and really tasty– this will definitely be our new go-to spot.

This spot is a gem of a local spot in Richmond. It is close to several medical buildings and other businesses and so I assume that they get a lunch traffic. We’ve been here mostly for brunch on weekends. Agua Fresca — one of the few places where I can get a massive glass of pineapple goodness. I even get an order to go and turn it into popsicles when I get home. Seriously. This drink makes me happy. Food is solid and consistent. BF really likes the rosemary chicken enchiladas. I don’t get it but it makes him happy. Let’s face it, I like it when he is happy. My fav’s? Posole with corn tortillas. A big bowl of soup just makes my whole body relax and their posole is good. I like the combo plates. Taco and enchilada or sometimes the chile verde. All of these will fuel me for the rest of the day.

Although they look like a sit-in establishment, they will gladly and promptly put together a to go order for you. Got a chicken super burrito, horchata, and chips with salsa and took it home, pretty delicious. Nice that refried beans are included with the burrito meals. So if you’re waiting in line down the street and want something filling, tasty, and quick, consider stopping by.

The spot a few yards away had a line out the door so I checked out La Hacienda. I’ve lived down the street for over 10 years. This place suffers from the failures of previous tenants. It’s been a couple different Mexican joints and a Vietnamese spot for a minute too. But you can forget about those places. They’re long gone. The carnitas at La Hacienda are really good. They cut them against the grain into medallions. Go here. Eat the carnitas and La Hacienda will become your weekday carnitas spot in Oakland. When you sit down, they bring you a basket of chips and 2 little chingaderas full of beans w/queso fresco and salsa before you order. But those aren’t even their best beans. The best beans come with the plates. La Hacienda’s beans are the 2nd best beans I’ve tasted in Oakland. Come in. Sit down. Order. Eat. Don’t take your food to go. Eat it right there while it’s hot. Order a plate with some chile verde, rice, beans and some salad. Order a plate.
