After coming here for haircuts year after year, I gave up on this place as a professional salon when I decided to get my hair colored.
They’re unprofessional:
–music is loud
–they gossip about people
–and if they’re friends show up while people wait, they’ll tend to them first.
— if you get a haircut or color they insist on styling your hair even if you say no
In this hair color experience, I went to the owner directly, Betty, thinking she would take care of my hair. Boy I was wrong.
She sat me in a chair with no mirror for close to 7 hours to color my hair. Bleached it and all. While the bleach and color worked in my hair she would rotate to other customers that she had another woman wash my hair to rinse off the excess. Then I had to sit through her trying to style it for me. I had to ask her to get up to go to a mirror to see the results, otherwise she wouldn’t have showed me until she was done styling it making it hard to see if it was even color. I looked in the mirror to see my hair in streaks! but the lighting was so bad I couldn’t really see the true nature of that she did.
She insisted on curling my hair and curled the whole thing from ends to root. I paid the $ 190 and once I got home I saw the poor job she did. My hair had been completely ruined and it was so bad that I couldn’t even pass it to say it was a highlight job because it was so uneven. My mom was so upset and told me to call and tell them to fix it. I called Betty and she pretended to not know why I was so upset. I told her the color was uneven and she told me I had to go buy a SHAMPOO that would even out the color in a few days. Why would I walk around with this disaster for days and then purchase that shampoo to even it out!!!
By then my hair had already been extremely damaged due to the bleach. Even if I went to get my money back my hair would be damaged for years. Since then I’ve never been back and I do not recommend this place at all. I was a loyal customer for years! And the owner herself tried to hide this huge disaster by curling my hair and then trying to get me to buy this magic shampoo. I don’t think so. I’ll never ever go back and I’m sure her lack of expertise will catch up eventually when her clients to elsewhere.
This experience happened about 2 years ago and I hesitated posting this because I actually like this salon as a small business. However, I realized that they don’t have any integrity for helping clients feel good about their hair. If you’re going to get a color job, be warned.

I’m not going to lie… do they do good work? Yes definitely but they are very unprofessional. I’ve been coming here for years because I like how they cut my hair but they are very unprofessional. I booked an appointment for 1:30. I show up at 1:28 walk in the Salon and no one greets me. After 10 minutes pass I had to go talk to one of the hair stylist and tell her that I had an appointment at 1:30 and she tells me that the person I booked the appointment with is on lunch. I didn’t get no «sorry», no «she will be right with you“none of that. Instead she gives me an attitude. I would normally walk away and not give people my business when im receiving bad costumer service, but like i said they do good work and i didn’t feel like looking for another hair salon or barbershop so i decided to sit down and wait. After 30 minutes pass by the hair stylist that i had made my appointment with comes out just so i can find out that shes already helping someone else. So another stylist offers to cut my hair. Luckily the stylist that offered to cut my hair has helped me before and she does a good job. So I ended up with a good hair cut only thing is that it took over an hour when I was really crunched on time… what’s the whole purpose of making an appointment when they are not going to honor it?
I really like how Bety and Blanca cut my hair and they are nice people but the way they run their business is a bit unprofessional. I really wish for them to improve in that aspect.

They do a solid job cutting hair. Although it’s an unprofessional place as they tend to blast the music really really loud and between staff they talk about how drunk they are going to get and about guys/​gals, etc. their prices are reasonable. Also if you are waiting to get a haircut and friends of the staff arrive be prepared to wait as they will skip you so that they can give their friends a haircut before you. Staff should take 101 classes on how to run a business.

This review is overdue. I came here several months ago to get a haircut. I used to go to another place to get a typical haircut. However, the last time I went there, I didn’t have a good expirience.
Anyway, when I came to get a haircut here, I wasn’t expecting a quick service. When my haircut was done, it came out nicely and better than I had expected. Got a second haircut here a few months ago. Will be coming here again.

I use to come here twice a month to get a haircut because it is so close to my house. I am not a native Spanish speaker but I did take 3 years of spanish class and the majority of my friends are Spanish speakers. The people working there seem kind but they talk a lot of shit in Spanish while cutting hair. I kept going there to listen to all the crap they say about me while cutting my hair. I never told them I understood them. I always smiled at them and tipped them at least $ 10. I stopped going because I decided to grow my hair long instead of going to these shit mouths.

I love Latinas! My cousin referred me about a year ago. I’ve only been once but would never go anywhere else now! My hair is curly and I love wearing it straight but when I went in my ends were horrible so I got a cut. Being african american I’d usually go to someone who has the same hair as I being that they know how to treat it. I made an appointment with Betty. I was a little nervous going in but within 15 minutes of going in I was in the seat and she went to work. i I had butchered my hair, but she brought it back! I told her what i wanted and she made it happen, I was more than happy walking out. The cut was only $ 15 but a tip was well due! She even curled it for me. She said it was a kardashian curl! I plan on going next next week to have her cut and style my hair for my bday. Very great and affordable service!

I’ve been getting my hair cut here for over 5 years! The girls know what they’re doing and Betty (the owner) is real cool!

If I’m in the area I always get them to cut my sons hair. I have also had my haircut here (basic trim)
They do exactly what I want.
I wish I spoke more Spanish so I could communicate better:(

Okay, so after having such a bad time at other salons I think and Hope this is the ONE for me. My sister go’s to this place all the time with her family and almost ALWAYS has a great outcome.
My haircuts have always been medium length layered cuts and this time I wanted to go a bit shorter. I was scared but my sister assured me everything would be fine at Latina Salon.
I went in & they helped me in no less than 5 – 10 minutes while I looked at the books of haircuts (the only place with updated ones). I was battling between 2 cuts and the lady who helped said she kinda gets the notion of what I want and asked me how short I wanted it.
It took her about 10−15minutes and PRESTO! I had the cut I wanted, a little too short but the outcome was what I WANTED. Kinda Rocker-​ish not emo but simple. Short layers in the back and a tad bit linger in the front. its been a month and it grew out to a really pretty cut kinda retro. She also Gave me styling tips and let me know that even store brands can achieve different looks for my cut.
NOW, Guys If you want the best cut I really recommend coming here. The Have Updated Pics of Fades, Mohawks, and layered cuts for men. If you do go, I recommend going during the week because it’s not packed.
For Men ask for Blanca the pro & Women ask for Bertha. I think they’re the owners but if they’re not they still cut hair really Good.
