The Law Offices of Michael E. Finein, A Family Law Firm, handles all aspects of divorce and family law cases, including property division, from simple to complex and high asset cases, child custody/​visitation and move-​away cases, as well as child and spousal support matters. I represent clients throughout the Bay and East Bay Area, including Alameda, Oakland, Hayward, Dublin, Pleasanton, Richmond, Berkeley, Emeryville, San Francisco and San Mateo.

As an experienced family law attorney my goal is to effectively represent my client’s interests, obtain the best possible results and protect their rights under the law.

Family law cases and divorce are often high conflict and high stress. My preference is to try to minimize both the conflict and stress through negotiation if possible. I have over 25 years experience negotiating settlements both as an attorney and in business.

I am also an experienced litigator and when needed I aggressively protect my client’s rights in court.

Business Owner

I graduated from the University of San Francisco school of law in 2001. Since 2004 I have focused solely on family law issues and have handled hundreds of cases, including trials on a wide variety of issues.

During law school I focused on becoming a litigator by interning and working at two litigation law firms. After law school, I immediately went to work litigating criminal, civil, personal injury, immigration and family law cases and have been fortunate enough to work with several very experienced and successful litigators.

Prior to attending law school, I had a successful 15 year career in sales/​marketing, including a position as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing.

My business experience in negotiating contracts and making presentations has been invaluable to my success as an attorney.
