History
Established in 1929.
L.N. Curtis & sons has a long history with emergency responders. Lloyd N. «Pop» Curtis was the founder of our company. Lloyd’s brother, Newton, had partnered with his brothers-in-law to build a mechanical resuscitator — a first of its kind. They started this venture in 1928. The E & J Mechanical Resuscitator sold for $ 350.00, quite a pretty penny for those days. Lloyd began selling the resuscitator with his brother and the «L.N. Curtis» company was born in 1929. It was time to expand the business and Lloyd was picked to pack up and move to Oakland, California where he worked hard to sell the mechanical resuscitator throughout a great portion of the Western United States. It wasn’t long before even more specialized emergency responder equipment was added to the list and a few sons were born to help handle the load. L.N. Curtis & sons has been working ever since with fire fighters and police to provide them with the equipment to get the job done effectively and safely.
