I have been with State Farm over 10 years. Prior to joining State Farm, I worked in the .com and high tech industry. Our office opened to serve the fine communities of Oakland and beyond. Our office has a history of community involvement, providing one-​on-​one insurance and financial service consulting to clients.

Business Owner

Mat received a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, after beginning his studies Cal State Hayward, where he lettered two years in baseball.

Mat has recorded and performed his own material as guitarist for several Oakland-​based music groups. Mat enjoys the outdoors and and is active backpacker and hiker, and loves bringing his dogs with him when exploring.

Mat lives in Oakland with his wife Melissa.

Interesting Fact: Mat’s late father Tom was a former NFL player and coach, and coached for the Oakland Raiders for 16 years (1962 – 1977).
