Have you ever wondered why mattresses are left on the side of the road? A local Houston entrepreneur asked the same question and found it’s hard to get rid of a mattress. Many local non-​profits don’t accept old stained mattress, some landfill locations charge a hefty fee and then there is the issue of how do you transport these bulky items to the transfer station/​landfills. His solution. RECYCLE them. These mattresses have recyclable components inside them that can be recycled rather than have them end up in some landfill. The business model of picking up old unwanted mattress directly from a customer’s residence or business worked very well in Texas. California was a great place to offer this type of service since more Californians are into recycling. Sure many companies are out there that will haul your mattress to the landfill but how many really recycle them. Jason is a small town guy, but he earned a degree in Political Studies at UC Berkeley. He’s our Midwestern Mr. Fix It who does everything from unloading a truck full of mattresses within 10 minutes by himself to making Jerry cans into lamps while ensuring we have the supplies, tools, and muscle-​power to get our work done every day.

I was really impressed with the customer service here. I was able to easily schedule a pickup online, and received a confirmation e-​mail informing me that I would receive a text 30 min prior to the pickup. The night before my scheduled pickup, I received an e-​mail and text message from John saying that an early slot had opened up and if I wanted to take it, I would be the first pickup so I would know they would come right around 8 (the default time slot they tell you is 8 – 12). I took the earlier slot and responded that I live in a large gated apartment complex, and requested that they call me when they arrive. The next morning, I received a text right around 7:45 saying they would be at my address within 20 minutes. They arrived on time, were friendly & fast. Price was not too bad compared to similar companies around here.

We made a reservation online and confirmed it over the phone. They never came by. If they were having a problem, they never called us at all. Their offices close early on Saturday, which doesn’t help when you have scheduled a Saturday pickup and you need to call if something like this happens.

I found them very easy to work with. They came on time, and called me 30 minutes before arriving, as they said they would. The pickup guys were very pleasant and accommodating, and were fine with carrying the mattress up some long stairs from my house to the street.
I would recommend them anytime.

1. They don’t apply the online discount of $ 5.00 when you register online.
2. They only do residential pickups twice a week.
3. If it happens to be raining, and you happen to leave your mattress outside, which is an option they allow for, they won’t pick it up at all.
4. I wasn’t informed of this until days after I made the reservation, and after business hours on a Friday, limiting any other options for pickup.
5. When I returned their call, no one answered.
Could a service be any worse?
A total waist of time. Go somewhere else.

Made appointment, waited all day. Front door & garage door open. Painters working near front door. Found Mattrees B Gone receipt on floor of garage which said «no answer». Clearly driver never came to front door, never rang bell.
Called for explanation, reschedule 3 times. Told I would get a call back, never did. Beware.

Made an online appointment for a Saturday between 9 – 2. They called me around 11am to say they’d be there shortly and they were. Very nice guys. Courteous and friendly. Definitely a good service only cost $ 50 to get a cal king mattress removed

I booked on line to have my mattress picked up. They called me and gave me heads up when they were coming. They were very professional. I highly recommend this as a way to get rid of old mattresses and box springs.

I had really high hopes about this place given all the really great reviews prior to this, but I must say I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the service I have received. I was given a time of pick up between 10am and 2pm, and it is currently past 5pm with no one here to pick up my mattress. I called the offices three times with little help whatsoever. I recommend you pick a different place because they will not work with you.

My partner and I were in a bind, left with a friend’s Full-​size mattress and box spring in the shed of our recently-​vacated apartment. We contacted multiple services to remove the mattress, but only Mattress ‘B’ Gone responded with the speed and service we were looking for in such a tight time frame.
Brian was warm and friendly, quick and professional. My partner and I worried about our ability to move the mattresses to the front of the property, but Brian and his team removed the pieces themselves with incredible speed and ease.
As other reviewers have said, the team called me and my partner to make sure that the process went as smoothly as possible. We had to reschedule and shift which partner would perform the pickup due to some confusion on our part, but none of this awkwardness bothered Brian a bit.
Mattress ‘B’ Gone does just what you would expect, quickly and easily too!

After an initial communications issue due to a website issue, John and his team made everything right. John specifically called me many times throughout the process to make sure I was OK. The team that came in was quick and professional. A+ all around. I didn’t know until they told me, but Mattress’B’Gone recycles mattresses up to 97%, which was just icing on the cake. Next time that I need a mattress removed (which I hope isn’t anytime soon) i’ll make sure to call Mattress’B’Gone.

My mattress was sagging badly, but was still under warranty so the manufacturer agreed to send me a new one. The only catch was I had to dispose of the sagging mattress myself. Thank goodness for Matress B Gone! I made an online reservation and they picked it up for just $ 50. That’s less than I would have paid to haul it to the dump, and this way my mattress will be recycled instead of going into the landfill. The two employees who came to my building, Ryan and Chuck, were awesome. Super-​propfessional, on time, and a pleasure to deal with. My apartment is on the far side of the building, and they never complained about having to carry the mattress across my complex and back out to their truck. If you need to get rid of a mattress/​boxsprings, definitely contact these guys.
One tip: make your reservation online and save $ 5. :)

Last time I tried to have mattress picked up from a different Unilocal company, they never responded. This was a better experience, really easy to schedule pickup, received a confirmation of appointment, the guys showed up within the pickup timeframe I chose. The guys were very professional and polite. I added some things other than the mattress that I wanted thrown away and they obliged. I think a company like this will hopefully cut down on the mattresses and crap I see thrown on the streets or sidewalks since they make the whole process really easy. A big thanks to Unilocal and this company! Finally got rid of that old mattress! Highly recommend!

My friend told me about their service and I was happy he did. I ordered the 4 hour window and they arrived in the first hour. Not too many companies give you a courtesy call but they did. My king size mattress was too much for me to bring downstairs myself, but the 2 guys handled it with no problem.

After calling several places I decided to have this company to remove my old mattress. It gave me the better price than others. I was a little worried since they say in their website that they are located in Oakland and I’m in south San Jose. Gladly my area is covered. They charge $ 50 for a single mattress ($ 10 for each additional one) if order is placed on the web. Others quoted $ 70 and up. Some sounded reluctant to take my business even when they charge much more. The surprising part is this company also have a very efficient system and follow through the plan very well.
You can choose a 4 hr window when placing the order. In my case they showed up in the second hour. I did not request notification 30 minutes before arriving but they called and left a message anyway. You also don’t need to be at home when they arrive. I happen to be at home when they came. The two gentlemen are very nice and polite and did the job in no time. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Great company. My grandma passed and my family needed help with disposing of two full bedroom sets. Setting up an appointment was easy and saved $ 5 by doing it on line. $ 5 may not sound like a lot, but they already were the lowest price that I could find by $ 20-​$ 30. Plus for all you Eco conscious people out there they actually recycle the mattresses and other materials so win win, though I mainly went with them for the price. They gave me a 30 min heads up before they came which is awesome. If you have ever had to wait at home through a cable installer companies 4 hr window like I did the week before then you can really appreciate the heads up. All in all they were in and out in a matter of minutes. I’m a 100% satisfied, would recommend them to my friends.
