I want to preface my review: Everyone at this store did their best to help me and the service people were great. My review pertains to the clothing items themselves. I got married last weekend and it was a blast — suffice it to say though that 2 of my groomsmen were missing pocket squares(LA& Seattle stores), the shoes were unbearably uncomfortable, and the Joseph-Weiss undershirts were more like pirate sails than tuxedo shirts. When trying on my suit the first time, I was fitted with a different shirt than the Joseph Weiss but it must have changed once I finally ordered it and I paid no mind. Luckily — the Vera Wang suits themselves were actually quite nice so they made up for it but only late into the evening did I even dare take off the jacket. Probably will not rent that tux again — but may come back to this store to see if there are other options and I do realize some of this is my own fault for not doing better research.

I haven’t been into a Men’s Wearhouse in several years. The service is always good. The clothing quality is pretty good actually. I have some shirts and two suits from them that have lasted years. Today I got some ties, they don’t look like they are going to be long for this world. We’ll see. The tie selection was poor for the narrow regular length ties. Which is what I wanted today so I was bummed. But I got a couple of regular ties that are going to be fine. Three stars ’cause of the selection today. Oh, parking is off 17th between San Pablo & Telegraph in the Rotunda Garage.

My fiancé and I were in here last Saturday looking at options for his wedding suit, and had a good experience. The guy helping us wasn’t SUPER friendly(who knows, maybe he’s just not a gregarious type of guy), but he was very helpful and pulled out several options, which was helpful for us because I don’t think either of us really know how to shop for a suit. My main man got measured and then the salesman grabbed several jackets in his size. He liked a couple of them that weren’t quite the right size, so the salesman offered to order them in his size so he could try them on, which he did. That was nice. They have good accessory options too, except they’re light on hats. Lots of ties though! And also vests, which was good. Small shoe selection. Overall, I had no problem with the experience. I wish I’d gotten the name of the salesman — he was tall, middle-aged I think.

I went to do research on suits and tuxes for my wedding in June. I spoke with Dominique. She was very knowledgeable and patient– I brought my mother lol. Although I ended up getting tuxes from the store in Pinole, I wanted to make a note of how wonderful she was!

These folks treated me very well. I had the pants from a suit I purchased years ago from MW hemmed and pressed for free. I also bought 2 suits in a two-for-one. The two salespeople I dealt with were very accommodating and honest. When I didn’t like the fit of the trousers, they adjusted them for no extra charge. I like the way I look. Incidentally, I support them even more due to their support for the Occupiers.

Why bother having a retail store, if you are going to treat customers like crap? I was forced to rent a tuxedo from this store, as I was part of a wedding party. I had one of my worst customer service experiences ever from Operations Manager Marcia Weathersby. Outside of the tux being ridiculously overpriced, approximately $ 200 for a worn out rental, it came with one sleeve on the jacket extremely short. I’m talking about 2″ of the shirt sleeve being visible. When I tried it on, I thought oh well, surely they can alter this today, since they are not busy and there is a tailor on site. Simple alteration, right? Adjust one sleeve, takes 5 – 10 mins at most, right? WRONG!!! I was told by Marcia that it couldn’t be done until the next day, although she wouldn’t even bother to ask the tailor for me. Of course this didn’t work for me, as the wedding was early the next day. At which she told me that it was my fault for not coming in earlier to try it on. I was notified around 4pm the day before that it had come in, and had no way to make it to their store before they closed. She began to blame me for not making the assumption that it would not have been measured and altered correctly. After going back in forth for a few minutes with her bad attitude, I decided it wasn’t worth it and she wasn’t going to help out. So, I ask if some kind of adjustment can be made as a customer service accomodation. «Oh no, we don’t do that, and you should have come in the day before to try it on.» Well, I’m sorry that I didn’t have the time and foresight to know that it wouldn’t fit, and you couldn’t help a customer out, because the same thing happened to another member of the wedding party and the store he picked it up at was willing to help, and had the alteration done on the spot while he waited in Emeryville. Point being, avoid this store like the plague. You can buy a better tux for a little more than they rent their old, ratty, short sleeved tuxes for.
