I have been looking for the perfect hairdresser since I moved to Oakland 9 years ago. Jeanne listens, always does a cut and color that is flattering and easy to care for and is lovely to talk to. Now she has an additional make-​up line which is flattering (wow Karen you look really good) and reasonable.

I guess if you’ve got more business than you need, you don’t have to return prospective clients’ phone calls. But that’s really bad business and, with all the nail competition in Montclair now, I would think a small business would want to have all the business they can. I tried to get a mani/​pedi there, left messages, but no one returned my call. If they were too busy, a call to say, «we’re sorry but we’re just not taking new clients» would have been the professional thing to do. Oh well, I’ve found myself another salon and am happy but Miller shouldn’t be so elitist.

I’ve been going to Miller & Co for years. Jeannie seems to get her customers by word of mouth and she has a lot of them! I love her. She asks exactly what I want. When I have wanted a change we do it gradually in case I am shocked by my shorter hair — but I loved it. When my daughter got a disasterous color at another salon Jeannie fixed it. Whew! She can handle any kind of hair. I am taking a friend there for a makeover next month.

I’ve been going to Jeanne for years and years and years — not only has she done great work for me in all that time, but I have seen what she does for other people. She’s terrific. There are other places much more convenient for me, but I’ll never switch.
She’ll do walk-​ins if she has time but that’s rare.

I visited Jeanne’s establishment for the first time even though I have several friends who visit her regularly. Jeanne has been in the business for 40 years now, and knows what she’s doing. Her salon is very popular in Montclair, so call for an appointment.
