Montclair Parking Garage

What a pleasant surprise when I handed the attended money and he said «parking is free today for the first two hours.» Free is good. I didn’t know it was a city garage.
We were there the Saturday before Xmas and I thought it would be full, but there was plenty of room. The parking spaces are large enough for most cars and the angled orientation makes getting in and out easy.
It has a back entrance for pedestrians, an elevator and even handicapped parking next to the elevator. And businesses validate.
What a relief to not have to worry about parking to shop locally

It isn’t always easy to find a parking spot in busy Montclair Village. This parking garage is pretty much the same price as the street parking (plus it’s free on Sundays) and I almost always find a spot. It’s pretty central with the exception of it being on top of a hill, so if you’re tired after running some errands in Montclair, you still have a hill to walk up to get to your car. My only complaints are that some spaces can be tight and occasionally there are the bad parkers that park over the lines, making it hard to get into your car

We were surprised at the number of great reviews for this garage but our experience this past weekend certainly justifies them!

Why park on the street when you can have peace of «no ticket insurance «at this city owned garage. The rates are the same as street parking without the worry of remembering when your meter will expire. The only thing which you have to remember are their posted hours of operation so your vehicle won’t go into lockdown after closing.
While there, you might be helped by the «nail attendant». It took her 10 years to get where she is today. Guinness book? Check it out, see the world record holder who grew hers to total 28′ + over 30 years and then lost them in an auto accident.

This garage is great the employees are wonderful and Theo is the best not only do they know that people who come they know the cars we drive as well. So somehow I got a flat tire during business hours and I received a call at my place of business to let me know. Theo saved the day because to find a flat tire at the end of a long day would have pissed me off to say the least. If you park anywhere in Montclair make it this garage!

This is definitely the place to park in Montclair to avoid a ticket and not have to walk a mile (or multiple blocks) to your destination.
I used to park here when I either started work in the middle of the day and all of the faraway free spots were taken, I couldn’t find one of the magical free spots on Lucas, or I was too paranoid about getting a ticket. It was great, I could get in, park near the entrance, stay for 8+ hours, and pay $ 10 to get out. I did leave my car in there one time on sunday after a horrible work shift, but all was well when I was able to get out the next morning right when they opened.
The only thing that makes this garage better, is when it’s free! I was recently upgraded at work, and now have free parking ($ 90? a month for the card). It’s amazing (and would be well worth the expense). Since i’m usually able to get my car in during the 7 o’clock hour, I can get a great spot right by the stairs.
My advice? Don’t risk a ticket, and just park in the garage. And now you can get 3 hours free with validation, that’s a pretty good deal.

The staff is *so* nice. The garage stays open late. It’s free for special events! Love this garage!
